I'm not on Instagram and have limited my Facebook scrolling - TicTok has taken up that time slow but for real discussions and information I too prefer the forums.

FYI, for those in Pahrump or driving through and hoping to get passes. Parker's Kawasaki is no longer selling any passes.

We arrived Thursday afternoon and left Sunday afternoon. You can definitely tell the difference between the "old school" dune-crew and the new breed of "spoiled, entitled brats" when you are out in the dunes. I won't even go into the whole trash left behind in the camps or the stops in the dunes. We spent almost as much time driving as we did picking up trash in the dunes. Some people really need to learn the whole "Pack-It-In-Pack-More-Out" rule. Our group for the most part will only be making day trips for the big weekends to support the vendors and other events. The comfortable friendly feeling seems to be there on the off weekends.

Awesome video!! I didn't know about one of those spots and will be visiting it next time I'm out.

None near Dumont, but if you are in Vegas stop by the Rebel depot on by Sahara and the 15. Has almost always tests at E85 or higher. If you are willing to go with E65 to E70 the Murphys stations in the NorthWest part of Vegas have it.

Normally for E85, I'll go to the Terrible's depot on Sahara and 15 and it tests out to be in the E88-E90 range normally.

The Rebel depot by Sahara and I15 has E85 at the pump as do all the Murphy's stations, unfortunately they are all on the north side.

From what I've heard there will be no more blasting/road closures until some time next month, November. The road is down to one lane both ways at the top and the speed limit is down to 45. There are some rumble strips on the road to remind you to slow down.

Starting tonight they are doing some night work with up to 30min delays. There is a Facebook page with more information: NV Highway 160 Construction Updates

Next road closure will be 10/5/2018 from 12:45pm to 1:45pm.

The blasting is scheduled to run from 9/24/2018(today) through 10/15/2018. The actual blasting will be done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; from aprox. 12:30pm to 2:30pm, during which time the road will be closed. Pahrump Valley Times article. The whole project to widen the roadway to 4 lanes with a hard divider and resurface the road is going to take aprox. 2 years.

Love this pic just because it's begging for a caption!

It's both days.

Just a heads up - Route 372 (Main route from Pahrump to Dumont) is under construction and will be through till mid 2017. http://www.nyecounty.net/index.aspx?NID=912

I can only think of one thing to add to the list: Inspect harnesses closely - remember your life depends on them! This should really be done before every trip, just like the Quad/Bike guys check their helmets before putting them on.

This pic might help you out on the lower mounting options: http://www.glamisdunes.com/invision/lofiversion/index.php?t252930.html

Update for those planning to attend the meeting in Pahrump today: November 13 – Bob Rudd Community Center, 150 N State Route (Highway) 160, Pahrump--Due to limitations of the facility, the BLM is rescheduling the public meeting in Parhump. Information on a new meeting will be provided at a later date. Nice of them to update the website this morning, look at the bottom of the page for when it was last updated. The link again: http://www.blm.gov/nv/st/en/info/newsroom/2014/october/southern_nevada__1.html

A bit of a drive - West Covina: http://inlandempire.craigslist.org/rvs/4525945302.html

Just means that the roads getting there will be packed with "runner escort vehicles." My past experience with them has been that most are absolutely inconsiderate and some are outright rude of/to non-escort traffic.

FYI: The law-enforcement rally from Baker to Vegas is this weekend.

Smart a$$ answer: 400hp, any mods done take it out of the stock category Real answer: Decide how much $$ you want to toss at the motor, get estimates on what that will get you. Then double the $$ you budgeted and start the build. It all comes down to how much you want to spend, the old saying still holds true: "Speed costs money, how much money do you want to burn."

For those who don't know, there is some kind of "relay race" this weekend on highways 159, 160, 127 and through Tecopa. If you are planning on heading out allow some extra time for the runners.

Bert, you took the words right out of my head!! If the "essential" personnel have to work without pay, so should ALL the politicians. Let them start cutting their own pay to fix the budget. How about they "donate" a year of their time to the people they are supposed to serve?

Never ran into overage charges since I got the IPHONE w/data plan - either phone use or laptop (jail broken to allow tethering).

Just picked up a D90, about 2 weeks ago, and love it!! Was looking at the Canon EOS Rebel T1i, but for the difference in $$ the Nikon was better - IMO. Before you buy one, play with both to see which you like better. All the features in the world don't mean jack if you aren't comfortable with the interface.
