For now i wouldnt worry about the popping on decel.If going up on the main doesnt fix this cutting out you really need to think about the stator.I wasted alot of time messing with my carb and the stator fixed it.To me a 175 seems good enough for your mods.You can try the 178 but to me it sounds like something else.Hopefully it still has the stock flywheel.Like I said before if it has a Trailtech -4oz or -6oz that will cause the same thing.Ive personally never had my YFZ cutout like you describe because of a slightly lean main jet.Not saying it cant happen but just my experiences.

main needs to be atleast a 175 pilot a 45 and if its still cutting out you might need to take a look at the stator.I had my stator go out on my 04.These arent THAT sensitive to jetting.Anything less than 172 on a piped YFZ is too lean.When my stator was bad it would cut out really bad at mid/high RPM.I tried jetting and everything under the sun for weeks until i changed the stator and its been great ever since.Another thing is the flywheel.If you put a trailtech flywheel on it then you are almost guaranteed to have problems.Those are garbage.

I planned to sneek out without telling anyone but my bike is down for some upgrades.

Does Pro Circuit recommend that jetting for all 50 states and all elevations? Ive had my YFZ at all different stages of builds from pipe and filter,built stockbore,480,stroker etc.When I had ESR pipe,ESR Intake,and cam mod running u4 my jetting was between 178 and 180 for Dumont with a 45 pilot and 2 turns out with the NCVQ on the center clip.Thats why I figured a 175 with pump gas with the same pilot and air screw turns.Another thing that helps alot is changing the leak jet on the bowl.I think it needs to be a #38 0r #40.In the 04 the leak jet isnt a very good size and can cause off idle bogging.Another solution for this is the quickshot accelerator pump cover.I did both.Just my experiences,good luck..Ive always gone with real world results and not dealer recommendations.

I would start here.Around 175 main,45 pilot,2 turns out on the fuel screw.Get the NCVQ needle and put it on the middle clip.Good starting point.If you plan on keeping the mods you have i would buy a 170,172,and 175.The 45 pilot should work fine so i wouldnt go to crazy with that.The needle is the YZ450 OEM Stock needle.Most shops will have it. Here is the needle part number 5TA-14916-V1-00 Good Luck!!

I put a 110 pitbike motor with a bigbore pipe in my trx 70 .It was awesome how it bolted right in.Having the bigger motor and pipe gave it alot more torque and acceleration.We radared it.With me on it that little thing did 43mph.Its a 4 speed with a clutch.We had it at Dumont and aired it down.I could go right up the finger dunes easy.I would pull 3rd gear tapped on top of the finger dune with my big butt on it.They are alot of fun.

As long as you are spraying you might as well get used to this.Ever seen a nitrous motor blow up. Not pretty ill tell ya!!LOL!! Nitrous is a hell of alot of fun but I cant afford the increased shortness of life on the motor.

I would expect a guy nearly 100lbs lighter than me on a nitrous cr500 to beat me.But you didnt Not my fault it wasnt running right.You lined up. If you are over 200lbs then we will race heads up.But im not going to run a nitrous 500 heads up with a lighter guy.I prefer to ride my own but im not giving you anymore advantage than you already have.

Sounds good to me.Let me know when its running at its best,ill throw on an equal weight rider and we will run em.That was my first trip out on my +6 and took me a few hours to figure the tire pressure and launch out.When we ran that morning it was spinning forever before it hooked.After a while it was launching hard.See ya next time

Its not supposed to have a silencer,its a Ron Woods Drag Pipe. Besides its only loud if you are behind it Just kidding.Im surprised you havent seen them before lots of YFZ's run them. I dont care how it sounds as long as it hauls A$$!!! :mc_smiley:

Ya that was mine.Danny and I were out at the North Pole.Your Buckshot rails were sick as hell.Funniest part was when you guys asked how it dunes I said oh it dunes like a dream.You guys are like oh really,I said uh no it dunes like complete $hit We still had a real fun ride out there.It did actually ride ok on the dune trip to the North Pole.Danny was surprised how well we were truckin along.I led too by the way,lol.The only reason I could dune it was because the dunes were so smooth.It was nice meeting you guys out there.Real nice people.

It probably was you because I saw you guys switch riders.The one time we raced I hadnt figured out my tire pressure and was really slow off the line.I still won but the 500 was pulling hard.later in the day it probably wouldnt have been as close.It was a fun day.
