Hey everybody, Well I got back earlier today from Dumont this weekend, and let me just say, it was Friggen Awesome!!.... :headbang: Weather was "perfect", the dune were not that tore up, and there wasn't that many people there so basically I had the dunes to myself............ Lots of sun!! I was dunning in shorts, a short sleeve shirt, and my Vans all Saturday!!!!!! Could not have asked for anything better. Anyway, on to more pressing issues. My friend and I duned over to the north pole on Friday mid-afternoon to check out the new DDR mailbox. It was cool guys, and it even had letters to Santa in it which was really swell. Then we went back Saturday mid-day, and it was destroyed..... :angry: Shot all up with what appeared to be .45 caliber holes, knocked off the pole, and just F'ed up. But to much of my delight, a gentleman rolled out there in his Excursion with a welder and a generator and a new mailbox, this one made of steel!!!!!....... His name on this board is MR.FJ40 and I would like to thank him again for what he did this past weekend. I was able to chit-chat with him a bit and he's a really cool guy especially to go out of his way to do this. He proceeded to weld this steel mailbox on there so these A-holes can't mess it up again......... Like I said at the N.P. I hope that the next guy who tries to shoot this mailbox, get's a ricochet in the foot to teach him a lesson. I will post pics very shortly!!

Let's hear all the goodies of the weekend. How was the weather, crowd, parties, etc. For those of us that either couldn't make it or chose not to go, we want to know what we missed out on.......... :smiley: Please post here.............

Just wondering if there is anywhere on the web that I can get finishing orders of the Banshee Wars? My friend took his son with a pretty sick Banshee to run and just curious as to where he might have finished. Thanks in advance................

We usually camp across from restroom #7, up against that last finger dune facing the big dunes........ :shocked2:

Hey Dunefreak.........if I could ask a small favor of you?? Could you please go to the top of the dunes on Saturday afternoon when the weekend is at it's peak, and take a picture of everybody there that is camping. I'm just curious on how big the crowd is this weekend............. It would be greatly appreciated.............

Try wrapping it in a large sandwhich bag. That's what I did with my brain box for my fuel injection and it works great...... Glad you found the problem..............

That thing is so big, he can take all of our sandcars out there for us....................

I don't think my sandrail builder has an updated website, but anyways, my builder is Prowlers Speed and Custom in Canyon Country, California. Great car and a great bunch of guys that work there. They are the builders of the High-Jumper sandrail............................

Hey Bert............don't sweat these guys and the comments. I'm with you bro............ I rolled my first rail on the first dune ride I went on. Up and over a razorback a little too fast and what do ya know, I ended up on my passenger side after hitting on the driver side first, then my roof, then on the passenger side. It happened somewhere behind the superbowl. Knock on wood.........I haven't rolled it over since.................... But looking back at it............it was kind of cool..............

My first buggy had a tranny leak when I got it. The leak was right by the drain hole. It was a VW tranny BTW..... Anyway, I forgot about JB weld and didn't know what to do about it. A buddy reminded me of JB weld, so I mixed up a little bit, put it on there, and what do ya know............no more leak....................... :tres hermanos_rock_smiley: That tranny lasted me beating on it for another three years before I got my new car...............JB Weld Rocks!!!!!.............. :tres hermanos_rock_smiley:

It is this exact kind of thing that really chaps my hide....... You guys did an extremely awesome job on that new mailbox, then not even a week later, it is f@*%ed up again. Man I am really bummed out on this and I didn't have anything to do with putting the new one up. It is quite unfortunate in today's world that there are some people that have absolutely no respect for anything or anyone's property. Dunefreak, you are to be commended for the thought of buying out Lowe's of mailboxes and putting a new one up when needed......... :mc_smiley: I hope you keep that energy and I for one will put a definite stop to anyone who is screwing with that mailbox if I see anyone doing it. I guess all I have to say to those that messed it up.................... :huh:

3rotortrav............I don't know if I have the perfect setup or not. I just know that I take car of my stuff and don't abuse it when I'm out there. The car does run really well and scoots across the whoop's pretty good also.............and I'll see you at the dunes..............

I have only had two cars and I'm on my second car now. My first buggy was a b-day present from my wife, she bought it with trailer and spare parts for a whopping $2500 and it ran like a champ!! It was a two seater Chenworth frame car with a 1600cc VW engine that I tried to blow up but couldn't. My second and current car is a Prowlers Sand Sprite 4 Dual Sport 4 seater mid-travel car with a 2275cc VW in it. This car runs like a champ also especially now that I put fuel injection on it. The family and I have a blast in it!!!!!...... :rainbow1:

Now that was a friggen trip, but funny as hell!!!!!!

Just thought I would share. This dude could make a lot of money out at Dumont, by dumping everyone's black water tanks. The writing on the tank says "Yesterday's meals on wheels"..........

Personally I'm glad that this turkey was charged with "felony" hit and run and I hope he has the book thrown at him in a serious way. I sure hope that the occupants of this SUV are ok, my thoughts go out to them. All I have to say to the turkey is..........that's one strike against you............. Just my two cents on his stupidity................

:headbang: I have heard from talk around the campfire that the Dumont Cleanup is in March sometime. Can anyone confirm this or do you have any info on this deal. I'd like to make it but I am already scheduled to go to Glamis for an off weekend with a buddy of mine that lives in Phoenix. Just wondering???...........

Thanks Dunefreak for cleaning that up. I wasn't able to make this trip to Dumont, but if I did, I would have been right there with ya!! What gets me is these A-holes who blow stuff up, light stuff on fire, and are all around idiots out there, then when the long arm of the law shows up, they are the first to complain especially when something get shut down. Copper canyon in Havasu got shut down, they complained. Comp Hill at Glamis got shut down at night, they complained. Well hello!!! If you weren't such a moron, and picked up after your self, or didn't act a fool, it would still be open!!! Thanks again and you definitely ROCK!!!!!!....................... :headbang:

Just figured I would start this thread. So what happened this past weekend out there in our beloved Dumont??? Bummed I didn't go, but glad I didn't have to deal with the crowd out there, I can't stand crowds that are too big personally. Crowded isn't the word for it there Dunefreak. My friends went out yesterday morning and called me to tell me that on the last finger dune facing the big dunes (which is where we camp by popper #7) is all roped off already................ Anyway, I'm not making this trip, but to all.........Happy T-Day and be safe out there!!! I wanna see a full report after the weekend...................
