  3. Yeah that is cool....... :angry2: I just checked accuweather.com and it told me a chance of showers on Saturday, but weather.com is just saying party cloudy all weekend........high's in the 60's and low in the low 40's to high 30's. All in all, it is shaping up to be a fine weekend. Oh yeah, and the wind is no more than 10 mph.........WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Try not to freeze your teets off............ :yeah_whatever:
  5. Sounds like a good time is brewing....... :yeah_whatever: I'll try to get over to your camp before the Saturday ride, just so I can roll into your camp and have you look at me like..... "Who the heck is this?"....... :yeah_whatever: Anyway, like I said in an earlier post, I'll be out there Thursday evening. I'll be camped about 100 yards NE of pooper #10...........See-ya all out there.......... :yeah_whatever: :yeah_whatever:  :yeah_whatever: :yeah_whatever:

  10. That would work for me except I still have no idea where the South Pole is..........so insight to where it is would be great.............
  11. From my house, making the trip to Glamis back in March I discovered that Glamis is about 50 miles further than Dumont, but just as much fun..........
  12. Where will you be camped again????? :surrender:
  13. ummmmmmmm.................sorry about that, my bad :surrender:
  14. Well having lived here virtually all of my life, and having not been "out on the town" in a few years, I'm not real sure anymore. What I can tell you is that there is a nightlife here, although not like Vegas. You've got the usual bars to go to. There is Red Robin at the mall that I've heard goes off on occassion. If you're not so into dressing nice and just hanging in levi's and a t-shirt, you've got bars like Mable Roadhouse which is kind of a dive bar, but it is fun. There are bars scattered all over the place, I guess you just have to find one that suites you and your style. Like I said, I have not been bar hopping in a few years. Maybe 80grit can give ya more info. As far as what to do, you've got Magic Mountain, and Hurricane Harbor here. During the summer months, at Central Park (sound ghetto, but isn't) they have free concerts in the park which are cool. Last couple of years they have gotten tribute bands to play such as, Led Zeppagain, Hotel California, Boogie Nights, Van Halen tribute band, and some more that I can't remember. There is a motorcross track that holds races that is about a 20 minute drive up the Hwy 126 towards Ventura, I've never been, but heard it is pretty cool. The way Iook at it is this..........the desert = 1 hour drive........the snow = 1 hour drive......The beach = 1 hour drive.............pretty centrally located I'd say. Hope this helps.............. :surrender:
  15. Hey dnchevyman...........I live in Santa Clarita, Ca. which is about 15 miles north of Sylmar. To answer your questions.........gas is anywhere from $2.55 per gal. to $2.69 per gal. for 87 octane depending on where you go. As far as living conditions are concerned, I would say that you do not want to live in Sylmar, it has become a cespool and a third world country with all the illegals running around. I would say north to Santa Clarita although some rentals are expensive, but you can find some places not so expensive if you look around. South of Sylmar there is North Hills, Northridge, Canoga Park, Burbank, and a whole host of other places to live which are nice communities. Rent will go for anywhere between $800 a month to $1800 a month depending on size and location and apt., condo, or house. Houses have been known to go for $2500 a month in rent. As far as distance to Dumont, and I know it doesn't really matter to you. But from my house here in SCV, to the flats at Dumont is exactly 208 miles, just as an FYI. Good luck in your future endevors if you choose to take the job......... :surrender: :shoot:
  16. The family and I along with some close friends will be there that weekend. I'm leaving Thursday the 18th and coming home on Sunday the 21st........ Can't wait..........
  17. I would have to agree with the above statement............ But seriously, I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year I hope that everyone is safe and enjoys the time they spend with the families this time of year!!!!!!! :fro:  :tapdance:
  18. Here is a pic of me in the Superbowl.........it is to the north, or left side of the mouth to comp hill..........the other pic is of the flats from the Superbowl...............
  19. Glad to hear you are on the road to recovery. Even with all the aches and pains you still may have, as Joe Dirt once said, "You just have to keep on movin' on" :jester: But glad to hear the progress.......
  20. If it's where I'm thinking, you would go through the SuperBowl as I call it, when you come out the backside of it, you would then go to your left. It's down in that valley, but the way you run that hill is as if you are facing the flats.............catch my drift here?????
  21. I am thankful for............... - My wife (without her, this would not be) - My 2 year old daughter (just because she is such a cool kid) B) - My family (extended family included) - My friends (I have some of the same friends for 20+ years) - The fact that I'm still alive (to the Dr.'s that saved my life, I actually "flat-lined" twice) - My job........the check still clears - And finally, the fact that rum is made and it goes so well with Pepsi......... MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!!!!!!! :xmas_lipsrsealed:
  22. Wishing you all the best on your road to recovery............. :whip_em:
  23. ISBB...........hope this helps. It is actually a tri-fold piece of paper, but I had o scan it as one sheet per side. I hope you at least get the idea. It came out real nice.............good job FODD
  24. The only advice I can offer to you is when you are not using the TH, plug it in to keep the batteries fresh and fully charged. But be sure to check the water level in the batteries often. If you can park it at your house, then this will work, but if you have to store it, then I guess it wouldn't work. That's all I can offer, hope it helps............ :jester:
  25. I wouldn't want dumpsters at Dumont. I personally believe the money would be better spent in the way of big signs along the road and after the collection station to remind people to take the trash out with them. I believe the dumpsters will only add to the trash problem as stated in previous posts. Just my $.02............... :mischevious:
