I spoke too soon, this breeze has turned into a WIND and it sucks!!!

Sure it's a tad breezy but it's not that bad. Saturday and Sunday are going to be awesome!!! Plan on tearing up some dunes tomorrow!!!!! Jello shots galore tonight waiting out the breeze.........Woo Hoo!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!! I'm heading out Thursday afternoon. I should be at Dumont around 7 or 8 pm Thursday night and staying until Sunday morning. We will be a small group of 3 rigs. Two motorhomes with open trailers and a toy hauler camped somewhere by crapper #10. I am so jonesin for some dunes. This is my first trip this season as our October trip got scrapped....BOOOOOO!!!! Let's hook up for a dune ride!!!!

Well he could have just driven through the mouth of comp and out the small dunes on the backside..........DUH!!!

Well I just spent the better part of the last 45 minutes perusing this thread and all I can say is............WOW!!!!! I went to the first regatta and that was a blast. But this one is effing AWESOME!!!!! From the pics, to the vids, I'm glad everyone had a good time!!!!!!!! Wish I would have gone, but my other passion (A Nascar race car) wouldn't allow it. But I do definitely plan on making next years regatta with the family!!!!!! Pete, you definitely outdid yourself this year!!!! Kudos to you and everyone else who made this happen!!!!! Simply put.............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shanerman..........you are truely a HERO!!!!!!!!! Seeing that and keeping your cool is something to truely be admired!!!!! R.I.P. to the fallen fellow duner. Belts or no belts, none of us want to see something like this happen. My thoughts are with this family and wishing a speedy recovery for the lady in this accident.

This past weekend was great!!!! The weather was nice, although the Dumont Seabreeze did rear it's ugly head a little bit on Friday and Saturday night but no biggie. Got quite a few dune rides in, ingested quite a few drinks combinged with my wife's world famous jello shots, and all around had fun. There were some minor accidents, but no major injuries happened which is good!! The sand was wet just under the surface, but suprisingly was nice and smooth. We even found some virgin sand during our rides... Anyway, I'd like to upload some pics, but it says that my files are too big to upload..... And the road in SUCKED!!!! I don't expect perfect or extremely smooth by any stretch of the imagination, but it was SUPER WASHBOARD!!!!!

Packed motorhome, loading the car in the a.m.. Gettin' my sand fix after a long summer!!! Can't wait to be around a fire with a drink in my hand BABY!!!!!!! :randizz: I'll keep an eye out for other DDR peeps. My group of about 10 rigs or families will be there from Thursday to Sunday. We camp by bathroom 10. Maybe we can hook up for a ride sometime during the weekend.............

I've been catching up on what's going on here in DDR land, and after reading this, all I can say is......WOW!!!!!!!! Wow that scumbags did this to begin with, but an even bigger WOW that you guys went out and fixed it............You guys ROCK!!!!!!!! Good Job Boys!!!!!! Thanks!!!

I was out there this past weekend and saw the emergency vehicles coming in. The story I got from a group of guys camped by the accident was that the 1st person went into the Superbowl on the face of the dunes, but he went straight up and over. He crashed when he went over, and apparently crashed real bad. Then his friends heard he crashed and went to help. Well they went staright up and over in thier car, rolled it and didn't have belts on. Well those 2 flew out of the car and became the other injuries. The authorities either got the BLM rail, or the Medical rail out of Barstow to come and get the deceased out of the bowl. It's very sad when things like this happen and my thoughts go out to the families of these people.

Trying to put together an overnight trip with some buddies. Arrive Friday, then leave Saturday after the event. Hopefully it works out. I hope it won't be too cold as I'll be sleeping in the back of my truck.

Just sitting on my trailer enjoying the beauty and quite that is Dumont at 5 or 6 am.........awesome I tell you.

My list is......... - Seeing Dumont on a clear day about 10 miles out of Baker and watching it grow ever closer as I keep driving. - Spending time with friends and family - Getting away from all the things that make me wired in real life - Hangin' by a campfire and enjoying carne asada at about 1 am - Virgin sand..........need I say more?? - Enjoying the peace and quite on those mornings I get woken up about 5:30 am because the dog has business to attend to - Watching my daughter enjoy herself out there since she has been going the entire 5 years if her young life - Not giving a rats rectum about the time - Meeting new people :drunks: - Finally, coming home to take a good 20 minute shower without having to shut off the water between rinses.

Last year we were pitted at the start line of the drag strip...........man THAT was a LONG walk!!!!

First, I'm super glad the regatta went good, and from what it sounds like, everyone had a blast. Unfortunately I couldn't make it this year due to a prior obligation. But I thought I share why I couldn't make it, although excuses are like A*%holes......everybody's got one. LOL Well I work on race cars in my spare time and have been doing so since 1987. Same driver, just a bunch of different cars in different divisions within Nascar. We raced at Irwindale Speedway that weekend and it was a 2 day deal. Qualify on Friday, and then race 75 laps on Saturday night. We qualified 7th of 45 cars, then we finished 2nd in the race. All this with a brand new car that hadn't seen the race track until the Sunday prior to the race weekend. Not bad I guess. We aren't running the full schedule at Irwindale this year. My buddys got this crazy idea to try this and see how it goes. They thought since the kids write letters to santa at the North Pole, why not write letters to our troops at the South Pole. So one of them made it, and the rest helped put it in. I'm bummed I didn't go this weekend, but finances wouldn't allow it. Hopefully this pole is still there in Feb. as that will be my first trip out there this season. Anyway, here are two pics I got off my friends, wife's facebook page..............
