Well as I said in an earlier post, my rail engine broke a freakin' 10 minutes off the trailer on Friday night. Well I just got done tearing my engine down to a long block before I take it to my engine builder and look what I found............. It is a bad cell phone pic, but it would appear as if I done broke a valve in the #3 cylinder and wiped out the plug. Well anyway, I take it to my engine builder on Saturday and I will see if it goes any deeper than this. (ie. rod damage, etc.) It's late, and I just had to tell someone what I found. Depending on what my guy says on Saturday will probably determine if I am done for the season or not............I hope not. :praying:

My overnight run was fun even though my engine broke in my rail just a lousy 10 minutes off the trailer..... :kitty: That was Friday night, but I decided to just hang out and drink. I did do the poker run with a buddy in his car. Glad to meet SandChick, Blondie, OGP, and wsky70. I had a pair 7's with a queen high. I knew that wouldn't be good enough, so I just split at about 2pm. It was a good time tho!!!!! :black: :fro_smokin:

Well in the 11th hour, I'm definitely going!!!! I've got a buddy already out there. I'll be rolling in Friday night, then rolling out Saturday after the run! It's going to be short and sweet, but at least I'll be there for the 1st Poker Run of Dumont!!!! :B :fro_smokin:

One of the things I think is funny is that Obama's "tax threshold" sort-of-speak, has dropped. A year ago, he said that anyone making over 300k a year would pay more, then he said anyone making over 250k a year, then yesterday he said anyone making over 200k a year would pay more. Plus, his running mate Biden said at a press conference the other day that anyone making over 150k would pay more!! Don't be suprised if they go even lower when/if they get into office. I say that because it was just LAST YEAR when both Obama and Biden voted to tax those making 42k a year more!! I'm scared to think what will happen if this azzhat gets into office!! :ah: :ah: :ah: :ah:

What blew me away this past weekend was the $10 for a lousy 8 lb. bag of ice!!! They were $1.70 or something like that at Valero when I rolled in there Thursday afternoon.

Whenever I see trash anywhere I'm hanging out at the dunes, I ALWAYS make it a point to pick up trash if I see it. It is usually beer cans or parts of beer cans. I pick them up and put them in my cooler so I can take back to my camp to put them in my trash. Since the lazy effers can't do it themselves. :mischevious: I've even got my 3 1/2 year old daughter is doing the same thing. If a little girl can pick up trash at the dunes, so can the effers that left it there in the first place!!!!! :rant_on: BTW, I'm all for the electric couch thing.......

Just got back this weekend and I would give the road in a C. It was washboard from start to finish. Since I don't want to rattle my MH to death, I was only able to do about 10 mph the whole way in. There were people who did pass me, but they were in trucks with trailers or toyhaulers. So I guess depending on what your driving will determine your thoughts on the road, but I give it a C.

Sorry SandriderGP, I got your name wrong and the day wrong before. Oops. Anyway, I thought there was a bigger crowd on the flats than normal for an off weekend. I was suprised that there wasn't more peeps at the hill on Saturday night. When we were there about 8pm or so, there was only a handful there and one guy with a fire. It was DEAD, but on the other hand, it allowed me to run my 3 1/2 year old daughter up the hill without any worries. Good seeing you again!

One more note on the weekend. I also met for the 2nd time MotoGPRider at Comp Hill. Then on Saturday night, we went to the hill just to see what was cracking. Well there was only a handful of peeps there. My daughter on the other hand, all she wanted to do was shoot the hill. She didn't quite grasp the concept of "letting the motor cool down". My oil temp got to about 210 degrees. But she dealt with it and we made a few more passes before we left that night. She is a duner fo sure!!!!!! :angry2:

Untouched (almost) dunes............ Some dude was Pair-a-sailing off the front of the dunes on Saturday... There were just a handful of vendors this weekend..... My friends buddy rippin the Superbowl..... We did a sunset run to the N. Pole and my daughter wanted here picture next to the pole........ Good times baby.............. :B :fro_smokin:

Well first off, I could not have asked for better weather!! Just a minor breeze the whole time to blow the dust out. But it was upper 80's during the day and low 50's at night.....just AWESOME!!!! Anyway, I got there Friday about dusk and just setup the MH to hang with my wife and baby girl. Since we were the only ones from our camp there, I didn't even touch the car until Friday morning. It was a good night. Had a couple of drinks and just hung out with the wife around the campfire. Friday......unloaded the car and went for a little run around the dunes with my buddy on his quad. Met up with a buddy's, friend who had never been to Dumont before and showed him around. He's a 20+ year Glamis/Pismo guy. Hung out and partied by the fire that night and made a late night run to the hill. NOBODY was there LOL Went back to camp and chilled out until going to bed. Saturday....did a few dune runs in the AM which was real nice. Then went to the South Pole at 2 pm to go meet some new faces on DDR. I had the privilege of meeting Big Rick, Sandawg, and mdthlfa. They are some cool guys. We didn't hang out all that much as they wanted to get back to camp for some lunch. So after they left me and my little group of 3 rook off on a dune run to the N. Pole. All in all, it was another epic day at Dumont. Sunday......we just loaded up for the drive home. Suprisingly I didn't see any Emergency vehicle traffic this weekend which was nice. Although I did hear through the grapevine that some did get hurt at Comp Hill Saturday late in the afternoon. I do hope he or she is OK if this is in fact true. It was an utterly awesome weekend!!! Stellar weather, Stellar dunes, and Stellar good times!!!! Now I can't wait for the Poker Run although I will be sailing solo for that!! :fro_smokin: Pics to follow.................

Those can be nasty!! :ah: I dropped into one of those a few years back running up Comp at night. I was still pretty new and didn't exactly know what to loo for. But, I've been there awhile now and totally avoid that side of Comp. Luckily it was just me and I didn't get hurt or hurt the car, just got stuck.

Because the "Official" Holloween trip thread has gotten so long, I thought I'd see who was going out the weekend before. Personally, I plan on rolling into Dumont Thursday about mid-day and staying until Sunday morning. Would like to put some new faces to screen names. How about the same bat time and same bat channel at the South Pole??? Saturday the 25th at 2pm???? It will be my family (Wife, Me, my 3 year old daughter, and my dog), plus a couple of others who are not on this board. :B :fro_smokin:

Not only do I lock up all my little things, (ie. air compressor, air tank, gas cans, etc.) but I also lock that stuff to my buggy. As an extra added inconvienience for the would be MORONS, I also remove my coil wire, and my steering wheel from my car also. My thinking is that if they think they can push my car and all that stuff away without a steering wheel or a coil wire to fire it up and NOT make noise, then they deserve to get beat within an inch of their life when I catch them!!!!! BTW, I have a 20' kryptonite cable that is also connected to either my trailer, or my MOHO!!! :fro_smokin:

Thanks for the flyers Pete! I got them the other day and just delivered them to the shops I thought had the most off-road/sand action. I've got a couple left and will give them to a buddy out in the San Bernadino area, I'll try to get him to put one up at Wright Gearbox place. He's gotten to know Ricky over there pretty good. Some think I'm a freak for not even having one alchoholic drink during the day or while I'm driving out in the dunes period. It is examples like this as to why I don't drink until my rail is PARKED for the night. I have a feeling that speed was also a factor in this unfortunate deal. Which is another point, don't speed across the flats people!!! Just my ...............
