  1. They don't ask you for anything but your $40 for a weekend pass. The only time you'll be asked anything by anyone of authority, is if you are acting a fool, or doing something stupid and the cops want to question you. Other than that, I don't think you'll have any problems. BTW, this coming weekend is free due to the Cleanup that's going on.
  2. Well my how things have changed. Now my wife is talking about just going not to waste a weekend. If we do end up going, we will be sailing solo with no group. Anybody mind if a family with two young girls (3 and 10 yrs.) camps on the outskirts of your camp? We will be rolling out Friday morning and hitting the road home either Saturday night or early Sunday morning. Nothing is set in stone yet, but the good possibility is there.
  3. Well ain't that just my luck.... This morning on accuweather.com, it was calling for 15 - 25 mph sustained winds and 30 - 40 mph gusts throughout the Baker, Tecopa, Shosone, and Death Valley area basically all weekend. That's when the wife and I decided to call it. Plus as it turns out, none of my group is ready to. (Laggers) One forgot, one decided to build a new car this past Friday, and one don't even have his car right now. I just looked on accuweather.com, and the highest wind gust is Saturday night @ 32 mph in Baker. Well like I said, have fun and be safe............. I may try to lobby the wife to let me sail solo Friday night for the cleanup Saturday morning with just me, my rail, and my truck......... This is Mike............ :kart: :fro_smokin: This is Mike after he cancels a trip probably a tad pre-maturely............... :mc_smiley:
  4. Ultimately in the end, super glad you are all OK and not injured!! :fro_smokin:
  5. Unfortunately the wife and I have backed out of going this weekend. We don't like the forecast of high winds this weekend. My wife is not too thrilled with being couped up in the MH with 2 young girls, and I'm not to thrilled with having to hear it. So we have decided to plan a Glamis trip in 3 weeks. At least I get one more sand fix for the season. Have fun and be safe everyone!!!!! :fro_smokin:
  6. It will be cooler, Accuweather.com is calling for high winds in both Baker and Tecopa on Friday though.... But hopefully that's the only day we'll have to deal with it and things could change between now and then.
  7. Now that would be cool............ :fro_smokin:
  8. The cleanup weekend is it for us. After next weekend, the car gets put away, and the boat gets pulled out of hibernation. Just like the seasons change, so do my interests. I'm ready to hit the lakes and get me a tan!!! Then about late August, or early September, I'll be jonesing for the sand again!! :moonwalk:
  9. Daylight savings time starts this coming weekend. We roll our clocks back 1 hour, so it wil be lighter later!!! I love that!! Anyway, we could probably meet around 3:30 or 4, then head for a sunset ride around 4:30 or so. One week to Dumont Baby!!!! :fro_smokin: :moonwalk: :chev_bowtie:
  10. As long as I get tires for the MH, the HappyHour family will be there baby!!! :fro_smokin: :moonwalk:
  11. I'm sorry bro...........that was just NOT RIGHT!!!!
  12. Thanks Richard, now cake bugs me till no end. I will have that song ringing in my head for days. :whacky101: Thanks to you, I've changed my mind...............I like burritos!!!! :skeet: :skeet:
  13. I still like cake.......... :moonwalk:
  14. I like cake............... :fro_smokin: :moonwalk: :kart:
  15. Cool Pete!!! :angry2: :boyyy:  :moonwalk:
  16. With all due respect to the beautiful pics that you guys take, I think it is only fitting that this picture of Daniel at the dunes is the next "Dune pic of the month".
  17. Daniel that is awesome!!!! Hope you had a good time!!!! :moonwalk:
  18. That is awesome news.... Tell Daniel, that although he doesn't understand why he can't take his bike out now, he will understand why later as he grows. But I am so happy to hear of Daniel's progression!!!! Unfortunately I won't be there for Prez. Day, but I will be there for the cleanup. If you guys are out there at that time, I will make it a point to go meet this young man!! Have fun and be safe!!!!!! Good for you Daniel............ :moonwalk:
  19. Just from reading his observations, it sounds like a kick azz time........... :freakin_nuts: :fro_smokin: :moonwalk:
  20. I guess the saying is true............."You can't fix stupid"
  21. That is so friggen cool!!!! Sheriff Joe ultimately ROCKS!!!!
  22. That is GREAT news!! I'm am so sorry I couldn't make the dinner, I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately it didn't happen for me. I do plan on donating through Bank of America though. I'm glad to see Daniel is improving. I was told with my head injury, that any sudden jarring of the head could make me go into a siezure. The Dr. told me the same thing and no football for a while either. Keep it up Daniel............. :moonwalk:
  23. It was a very good weekend for me and my family. The weather was good, it was not too crowded at all, and I got to put a couple of more names to faces. JoeDuner, good meeting you bud, and PaulyPaul, good to meet you also!! Everything was going good until Sunday. In the morning I took my car out for one last little cruise, I got back and discovered that either the main seal in the motor is bad or the front seal on the tranny is bad....... Then as we were leaving Dumont, I got one Hwy 127 heading toward Baker and about 15 miles into it, my inner tire on the drivers side of my MH decides to blow. We nursed it to Baker, got it changed, and away we went. GoodSam rocks.... Then to top it all off, as I'm trying to dump my tanks after I got home, my Candy Pipe hose breaks. Luckily I hadn't pulled the valve yet. Anyway, we made it home safe after about 8 hours so that is the bright side. I was really glad to NOT see the helicopter land at all!!! Pete, as usual I got NO pics. I'm glad everyone had a good weekend and look forward to the next one!
  24. Well the kids temp came down to normal and it appears as if we are going. :argue: We won't be leaving until early on Friday morning instead of Thursday. We want to keep a close eye on my daughter, and we didn't want to drive through the fierce winds that are supposed to be here all Thursday either. So the plan is to arrive mid-day on Friday. Either way, it's all systems GO!!!! :fro_smokin:  :moonwalk:
  25. If it's not one thing, it's another. My engine checked out OK at the engine builders place the other day, but last night my 3 yr old girl had a fever that spiked at 103+ degrees. Anyway, the wife and I have postsponed going until Friday morning IF my baby's temp is OK by then. :praying: For those traveling thru Palmdale, Ca. on Thursday, be careful!!! The last weather report I saw said up to 75 mph gusts blowing thru there on Thursday. :moonwalk: :drunk2: :rainbow1: :kart: Man, I'm liking the new smilies!!
