i called them thanks, seems as tho the dipstick in the front of the blower had been broken off for awhile and it got caught up in the front gears and mangled some of the teeth on the blower. the dipstick on the blower had been broken off before i bought the buggy. i guess ill fix that too. not a problem. WE CAN REBUILD HIM...... SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN .....?

I didnt buy it from mike zencheck, i bought it from a guy in arizona who bought it from mike. mike had tipped the buggy about 3 yrs ago and it sucked sand in then, but supposedly all that was fixed. its been running ok for 3 yrs. ok i guess. mike camps in our camp with all of our other sandrockets as well. but i might call him to see if he knows of anyone.

Well i met a couple of ya but would of liked to meet more of you folks.my weekend started off badly i got to dumont thursday nite. the next day friday my wife and i had been riding in the buggy.we went over to comp and thought i would go up.I did about half way under power my blower started knocking. so i shut it down put into neutral and coasted back down the hill and checked it . I pulled my blower belt off to see what was up and i felt it clicking binding effect. so i left the belt off and drove back to camp. I pulled the carb off and checked,saw some scratches could tell where the turbines were hitting each other. so i just left the belt off the rest of the trip and just took it easy ridn around on the flats. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE THAT REBUILDS BLOWERS.PLEASE LET ME KNOW........ :mc_smiley: :mc_smiley:

let me know desert i have some extra springs (eiback) springs need length and lbs. to experiment with. it also might be wise to put set of ( BUMP STOPS )on your buggy. they cost much less than those shocks you have.Also you need to take a (ZIP TIE)and put it on BOTH (SHOCK SHAFTS). then take your buggy out and play then look to see where the (ZIP TIE) slid to that will show you how much travel your using. GOOD LUCK....

yes, i always get ask how much horsepower i have, in my (sandrocket,) i just tell em it gets me up the hill. im running a (BUILT) 383 stroker (bowtie) motor with a blower on it w/10lb of boost. it seems plenty fast for me. but i also have the advantage of not having the front end coming up on me as alot of rear end mounted motors do. my rail is as close to a dragster as you can get. im also using a jaguar rear-end with a 4.86 gear. i'm happy with it. yes im running a built automatic trans as well. hp is not as important as knowing how to properly drive the thing. and as someone said you need to experiment with tires as well. the smaller the tire the lower gear you have at the rear. etc. I GUESS THESE DAYS ,ITS NOT THE HP,THAT COUNTS. IT'S HOW YOU USE IT. LOL

The reason for the weld breakage was because he didnt (wrap the ends). that means he didnt weld all the way to each end. then around the edges as well. this makes for a solid weld. as for your seatbelt tabs check to see if they have been wrapped as well. if your not sure i can help ya . let me know
