  1. But all of the Mexican flags are alright by you? How about if it had been an Obama flag? That's cool by you too I would suppose? I mean trampling on the rights of the people and the Constitution seems be oh so alright with so many nowadays. Cute little Obama stickers on so many vehicles that it's just mind numbing. Anyways, point being that what one regime did to a once great nation is not so much different than what this regime is doing to our once great country. And yes, both of them tried/are trying to push their agenda global. One is not much worse than the other. Not saying that I agree with the flag in dispute, there are just others that I find equally or more offensive. And what is it that you suggest be done about it? You're not one of those who believe in the personal freedom and liberties of others as long as they perfectly align with yours are you? I'd say if the children have a question as to what the flag stands for then use it as a time for some education. Otherwise we have these cute little things here in America called rights and one of them is freedom of speech. You also have the right to be offended. I say choose your hatred wisely, maybe start by looking at the occupants of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue and tell us who has the worse agenda.... Semper Fi
  2. Damn son, unwind a little bit, take a deep breath, start back at the top and READ what was posted. No rumors, just what was passed on by another friend of the victims. How about instead of jumping into full jackasselope mode on your very first post on a forum you just offer your take on what happened with the accident? You know, maybe help others in the future not make the same mistake/mistakes that were made? And shed some light on the entire situation since you were a passenger in said RZR. I've been to Dumont dozens of times over the years but will be making my first trip in a RZR this weekend. The info you could have provided might have been useful to may others as the SXS market is growing by the day. And your buddy WickedYJ there may want to take the same advice. DDR is one of the tightest knit communities on the web and we will go way above and beyond to help and protect one another. Definitely wouldn't intentionaly be passing bum scoop on a fellow duners demise. So what really happened so that others may be informed? In your calmest and kindest tone please. RIP fellow duner, and prayers to the family and friends.
  3. Passes? I thought passes were only good from October thru April? They are at Glamis anyway. Seems like BLM would be uniform across the board so as to not cause any confusion. I did miss getting to Dumont last season due to health issues so I just ASSUMED that passes there would be the same as for G. Did I miss the bulletin? On a side note, how many RZRs are going to show up?
  4. Thanks Steve. I may try and get these paddles mounted in time but I doubt it. Since I bought it in late May I've only been able to put about 90 miles on it, just too damn hot to ride, but I've been runnning about 6psi for desert riding. It does feel like I'm powersliding through some of the sweeping turns in the washes. Feels like I'm on ice. Is that the oversteer that you're talking about? Hopefully I can make it and hopefully there will be other 900's out there as I would like to compare temps, sounds, etc with some other XPs to make sure mine is performing as it should.
  5. Pete, through all of your experience how far around D can a RZR make it with just Big Horns on? Had some major health issues arise back in January and had to go with something with a steering wheel vice the five DS650's that I still have. Picked up a 2012 XP900 and it did come with paddles but they aren't mounted and with one usable arm I won't be able to get them mounted in time for this ride on Sunday. Since you claim that it will be a slower than normal cruise I'd like to hit it up. Anybody else that goes to D without paddles feel free to help me out here. I know it's super soft out there right now so I'm all ears.
  6. Wow, this sucks. Prayers for his family. Gonna miss you my DS buddy. Pick out some killer lines in those great dunes in the sky. We'll meet up with you someday. Bert was awesome people.
  7. The wife and I got married 32 years ago tomorrow so we're heading up to Tehachapi to enjoy some laid back time with each other and some cooler weather. Be back in time Monday to hit play on the DVR and watch some Coca Cola 600 and Indy 500. Had some major life changing medical shiat go down in January and ended up having to change directions on how I enjoy the dunes. I still have my five DS's but will hopefully be moving them this summer. Got a little something with a steering wheel, some harnesses, and a cage. I'll be seeing y'all out there next season
  8. Pulled up to the Renegade one day on my DS to talk to the rider about the weight of that thing. The DS is known to be heavy but that Rene looked the part. When he removed his helmet I was very surprised at his age as I had been watching him sling that thing around like a youngster on a Raptor. I was impressed to say the least and hope to someday still enjoy some hardcore recreation at his age. I didn't know him per se, but did speak to him in detail about Bombardier/CanAm. He was a pleasant fellow. RIP fellow duner. You will be missed.
  9. Don't forget to get your picks for Phoenix in.
  10. Means Dry Lake is where Hammer Town will be set up. Most folks camp there. Dress warm.
  11. I'm shocked that you would even consider anything "assrock" in your renderings of humor!
  12. What the hell? I had the top five riders correct, just different order of finish and I got 0 points! No credit for getting the names right I guess. I expected Bubba to crash but not Villapoto. May move Roczen up from fifth for next week. Couple of those guys were on the move though and just had some issues. Villapoto is probably going to crush the competition in Phoenix. Rookie on the podium again.
  13. Go Bubba! LOL Surprised he made it that many laps. Time for four wheels ol boy. Seems you need a cage around you. Dammit, had Roczen fifth because of his rookie status. Guess I underestimated what I saw last year. Had Bubba 10th but he let me down. Had Barcia 1st but a little trouble at the start squashed that. Long season ahead of us, gonna be fun.
  14. Reckon they could have put the picks in alphabetical order, how much trouble could that have been? I know, it is, by first names. Who came up with that silly sh*t? Almost couldn't find BUBBA, thought he was hurt before the season even started! I needed to put him in as my 10th place wildcard but they listed him as James. He's done on two wheels, needs to move on to NASCAR where they have a fat azz contract waiting on him. Surely he would fare better than Pastrana has done on four wheels.
  15. So how would one get in touch with these people? Damn fees anyway!
  16. You're the best president ever Pete! If only our other one could address the concerns of the little people as eloquently as you did. And as far as I can tell nothing that you spoke was a lie. Thanks for the answers. I was more or less prodding and reminding that a little swag goes a long way at the clean-up. I wasn't aware of the conflict with the other site. I still display my red OE DDR sticker in the back window of my F-350. Didn't know bout the AMR deal either, sorry that deal fell through. Has it really been years ago? Wow time is cruising on by. I do remember the race as it was right here at the edge of base. And in an area that the Corps is fixing to take possession of. King of the Hammers is coming down to it's last couple of events here in Johnson Valley it's looking like. Didn't know it affected what we do at Dumont. Too bad, they were lots of fun. Thanks for addressing my thoughts and keep up the good work.
  17. I request a vast array of sizes be handed out at the Dumont Dunes Cleanup as it was in past years! And what happened to the Old English font!?!?! Those were most wicked. Or even handed out at the poker run stations. Anyone remember those?
  18. What is ASSROCK? Just curious as I listen to Classic Rock, Hard Rock, Metal, Heavy Metal, Nu Metal, Motown, a little bit of Trance and World, but not quite sure what ASSROCK is. Thanks in advance for the enlightenment. Looking forward to getting back up there and riding with you fine folks.
  19. Nope, no exceptions. Buy your permit, buy your insurance, no problems. Mr. Sasselli who puts on 4StrokeWars would be a good point of contact. Been puuting on races at Glamis, Dumont, Sand Mountain, and Oregon for years and he is very professional about it all. Welcome to DDR by the way.
  20. Bert we'll be over at Wash 11. Going to have at a minimum a DS GSXR 1000 conversion, a DS805, a DS770, and DS730 or two. If you're taking the Sand Pig down there come on by for a cruise. Come on by anyway but if you're in the rail you probably wouldn't have fun in Glamis with a bunch of DS's. We'll keep an eye out for your big black beast while we're out and about.
  21. Time to lock one of these so we don't have to keep going back and forth. The other thread does say official so I nominate this one.
  22. Can't use non essential anymore. That's offensive! We are non excepted. I'll sleep so much better now. So the fence to the country is down and the fence to the dunes is up? Amazing!
  23. Don't know what weather app you guys are using as mine says 90's for next weekend. Thursday looks nice though. Anyway, I may be heading up to D next Friday or Saturday to break in a new Rotax 805 so hopefully it's good riding weather. Has anybody been out since the string of big storms? Just wondering what the road in and the river crossing are looking like. They need to get it all gussied up as the season is about to kick off in full swing.
