  1. Very very long story really short. Long time member here that hasn't checked in in quite some time. Life happens and sometimes doesn't pan out as planned. So, back in 2014 I was paralyzed and after recovery and relearning walking and things like that I ended up without use of my right arm. Kind of put a damper on my love for all things DS650. I was able to get back into going to the dunes and offroading, although in a cage (RZR and Jeep). My love for the almighty DS had me owning nine of them, five of which I currently still own. And a garage full of EVERYTHING DS650 related, from IMS Desert Tanks to twist throttles, etc. I have a collection of parts from a collection of great people that some of you may remember: BigRay 800, The Stir, Horsepower Research, Gary Tiffany, Blackhawk, Sandaholic, and many others. EVERYTHING I have needs to go as I've come to the realization that I'll never throw my leg over a quad again. Currently I live five hours away from where my quads and accessories are stored so I don't have any pics to share. Will be getting them and an inventory soon though. I don't have the time or desire to part all of this out and would very much prefer to make it a package deal. I'll leave you with my email address and if correspondence sounds serious we can do the phone thing. (aceisback@hotmail.com) Very short list of some of what would be included: 2003 HPR 730 x 2 2003 650 x 2 2002 650 720 jug kit Gary Tiffany built one off 805 kit Sand tires, dirt tires, wheels... IMS nerf bars IMS foot pegs IMS desert tanks As I said the list is extensive and we can discuss in further detail if you're really interested. Could be a great package deal for someone looking to outfit the whole family, or adding to your stable of rental quads. Bring some help and a UHaul or a truck and large trailer. All of this is located in Yucca Valley CA, I have moved to Visalia CA, but can get back down there to make this happen. Looking forward to see where this goes. I understand that I'm going to lose my ass but it is what it is. And again, to save us both a lot of time, I really would prefer to load all of this up in one shot and not split anything up. Let's do this. aceisback@hotmail.com
  2. So not a single one of us checked out the pics? We must all be gettin’ old! I don’t even think my back or hips could tolerate her offer of humping at least once a day. Hope all of you dune peeps have been staying healthy, happy, and well. Life’s speeding along at a breakneck pace so smell those roses on occasion. Been a little while since I hit up the DDR site but was needing to get me a little sand drama fix since the GD site has been down for a while. Sure do miss Dumont and I hope to return someday but probably not looking favorable. The past three seasons I have been to the dunes a total of three times and each one was for the Veterans Day Ceremony at Glamis. Going to be selling my RZR in the next few months and I’ve already sold two toy haulers over the past year. Crazy market for recreational vehicles going on. I sold one for $750 less than I paid for it in 2006. Not bad rent for 16 years! Sold a 2009 Vortex last month for $4500 MORE than what I paid for it a little over three years ago. Don’t think I’ll have such luck with the RZR.lol Anyways, good to read that folks are still getting out and enjoying our awesome dunes. Y’all take care ya hear.👍
  3. Hopefully they clean up better than that Beyonce video shoot.
  4. I have a two seat XP 900 so your experience may differ. I run 8psi up front and 6.5psi in the rear. Smooth buff fronts, STU paddles in the rear. Sidewalls were mentioned so I will add that beadlocks on sand tires are definitely the way to go if funds allow. And probably most importantly in this whole discussion since you mentioned passengers, stress to them the importance of keeping their hands and arms inside the vehicle, especially during a rollover. Either grasp the harness or white knuckle the oh sh*t bar provided for the passengers. Your hands are your money makers, keep them safe.
  5. Outstanding! Looks like a nice breeze to start a beautiful day. Wish Mother G would have looked like that. Tens of thousands of people does not equal virgin sand. It was an awesome ceremony and weekend anyway. Nice pics.
  6. Nice job and write up Pete. Especially like that cable gland. Most I've seen just drop the wires down the refrigerator roof vent. Clean install you have.
  7. Looking forward to a favorable report on said destination. Hopefully it doesn't get destroyed like so many other landmarks out in our playgrounds.
  8. In before the lock! Now where's my stickers dammit?🤣 Fo reelz though, them DumontDuneRiders.com decals in the Olde English font way back in the day were super bad ass.
  9. Minutes from the meeting??? Thanks for going and representing by the way. I went to a couple of these "back in the day", but I had a little more time on my hands then. Hopefully there was a good showing.
  10. Yeah we lost DS650.org like that. Glad to have DDR still around. Keep up the good work Pete.
  11. I'm stealing that idea! You're welcome.😁
  12. Toll down at Glamis is at least 6, but the number 8 is being floated around this morning. Helluva way for family and friends to have to return from a holiday. Let's try to be more careful out there peeps. It's supposed to be fun, not tragic.
  13. WTF is with that guy? He looks like a ghey Paul Hogan. Why would a professional feel the need to put his mug in all of his work pictures??? Maybe I'm just out of touch with the times and that's the way things are nowadays. Just my observation, yours may vary.
  14. We've done back to back to back exercises here aboard the base this summer so time has flown since it's so busy, and lots of OT, but its rough on an old body. My daughter booked me some depravation chamber flotation sessions since I am too stubborn to slow down on my own, and can't get mellow (smoke weed) cuz Uncle Sam says so. I made me a little sound track for while I'm in the chamber that starts and ends with this song. Helps drift me off and then bring me back as the session ends. So, in the theme of summer, take four minutes out of your busy lives and get mellow with me for a moment.
  15. Yosemite ain't no maybe! That's a must do. And while you're in the area Kings Canyon is much more majestic and waaaay less crowded. Have fun though, sounds like a nice trip.
  16. Working OT this weekend but just got back last night from my first ever trip up to Pismo Beach. Had heard horror stories and b*tches, moans, and complaints about the place and just kinda needed to see for myself. Granted it's not Dumont, and Dumont is not Glamis, Glamis is not Little Sahara Utah, and Little Sahara Utah is not Saint Anthony's Idaho.... But, it is sand and it was a six hour drive so I made the best of it. It is what you make it! Matter of fact I may go back someday. Something about highs in the low to mid 60's has an appeal when it is in the 110's where you live. $5 for a day trip, $10 per day if you're overnighting. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a safe and relaxing summer, and I hope to see you out at D when the cooler temps roll around.
  17. Pete do you have anymore of the windshield size decals? Or the smaller version that went on the sliding portion of back truck windows? That Olde English font was sharp back in the day.
  18. Awesome pics, and congrats on the traveling and camping upgrades.
  19. Was an annual pilgrimage for around six years or so for a batch of us Cali DS folks. Seemed like all of you Vegas folk stayed in Vegas and there would be no more than a couple dozen or so people total. Miss them good ol days. Always seemed to be good weather and smooth dunes this time of year. I'm gonna try and make it up there for the clean-up weekend. Ride safe and have hella fun Pete.
  20. I'd like to know where they got that flag/plaque? Was it a one off custom job or are they readily available somewhere? Thanks for any information that you may be able to provide in acquiring one like it.
  21. That's a bad ass plaque. Hopefully it is respected for years to come.
  22. Nice video Alien. I see you still have that Mad Max vibe going on. Looks good. And plus 10 for \m/ W.A.S.P. \m/
  23. Good to hear. I guess he got out of duning all together. Kids growing up can do that. Tell Jason that Vic said hello for me please.
  24. Man that is some good stuff back then. Thanks for linking. I clicked through and read quite a bit of that. The "good ole days" as they say. Where the hell are all of those people? I've asked about Jason (RichardCheese) several times to no avail. He was one of my buddies in the DS (Bombardier DS650) brotherhood. Just lost touch over time. And I see Bert was on a LOT back then, RIP Bro. Another DS guy. Freakin MetalAlien and his crazy azz machine! Lots of good people have come and gone over the years. Life happens at a break neck pace Rock Hard Ride Free y'all.
