  1. Anybody bother calling the number that he posted to see how this all turned out? Kind of curious...
  2. Might have to rejet to ride there! Awesome pics.
  3. Good find Pete. I don't have time here at work but post up some stuff about Crescent Lake China too. Kind of the same deal, the dunes in China may be even larger and more vast. Would love to experience both though. Nice to dream in between seasons...
  4. Some contact info would sure be nice. Where might this bike be located?
  5. That whole route is being worked on right now with a lot of it completely closed. It needs repair bad. From National Trails to the 15 needs to be dug up and redone. Kelso to Cima, Ivanpah, Nipton, all of those have been beat up for quite a few years now but Kelso to Baker will tear up a car. Not that I agree with the whole Sand to Snow Monument issue and all of the reductions/restrictions that come with it I have noticed that they are pumping a lot of dollars into making the routes to and through those places much better.
  6. Nice write up and photos. Looks like this would be an awesome weekend coming up but with Kelbaker Road closed I would have to take the looooong way around to get there from 29. Ain't doing that! Probably go get some of Johnson Valley on Friday and/or Saturday.
  7. That is one nasty wreck right there. Surprised from the pics that the injuries weren't more severe. Best wishes to the passenger who has the back injury.
  8. Outstanding pics and awesome report. Oh to be young again and be able to make that hike. I could get into some trouble... Thanks for sharing.
  9. WOW is all I can say! It's been well over two years (three seasons) since I was last at Dumont and the improvement in the access road is beyond description. Used to empty the cabinets and bounce the toys around even driving it very slow. Now driving the posted 25mph is a pleasure and very smooth. Dust is still hella bad but short of spraying the road down with used motor oil it's always gonna be bad. Oh wait, we don't spray the roads down anymore. Showing my age! Definitely rates an A. I'm curious as to when it was groomed last? I didn't see the equipment in the pictures at the dunes anywhere. Now if they can just fix Kelbaker Road. It was a strong F-. Huge holes everywhere and quite the hazard to drive. Ranger at Kelso today said the repairs are from Kelso to Baker but that doesn't address the same road conditions from Kelso to National Trails Hiway. Surely with all of this land grabbing that Feinstein and her ilk have been doing they would want the roads pristine so that all of their butterfly hugging BMW driving voting pool don't damage their cars. Rant off, outstanding job on the access road. Best I have seen it since 2003.
  10. Well I guess it goes without saying that with the lack of interest in this event that there won't be any vendors out there this weekend... I remember back in the day when this was a fairly large event with lots of support and participation. Should be rolling in around noon tomorrow.
  11. Well it's been two years since I've been to Dumont due to a health condition that arose and I believe I'm recovered enough to give it another go. Thinking this might be the perfect weekend to try Dumont back on for size. Won't be slinging the mighty DS730 around anymore as I lost use of my right arm, had to go to one of them there RZR thing-a-ma-jiggys with a steering wheel. I know I can't hang on one of the awesome ElPresidente led rides but if anybodyis going to be out there doing some gentleman cruises through the dunes I would be interested in joining in. Another determining factor in not heading to Dumont was the condition of Kelbaker Road between Kelso and Baker. It was so effed up that it made the drive unbearable. I hear they were going to repair/replace that stretch and was just wondering if anybody on here has been that route recently? Would really like to attend this event but don't want to beat me or the equipment to death. Appreciate any input and look forward to seeing you guys back out there again. Edit, found this info: http://www.nps.gov/moja/current-conditions.htm
  12. I just want to know what the gooey zhiatt is inside of the tubes so that I can fill mine back up and then repair the tube where it snapped in half near the base! That crap got all over everything and was damn near impossible to remove without a pressure washer. Six foot whip so lots of liquid was involved. I am interested in what the pictured bracket is for though... Subbed.
  13. I'm seeing twelve votes as of right now. Are you not seeing any? Must be dem damn solar flares!
  14. Hate hearing these stories. RIP fellow duner and may your family find solace.
  15. Ouch! That's gonna take a little more than a good buffing. Glad he's okay. The wallet is going to be feeling a little bit of pain.
  16. Talk about resurrecting the dead! Thanks for bringing back a good old thread. Glad you're okay and the machine looks like it won't be too costly to return to it's previous state.
  17. WOW! That was sure the good old days Alien. Don't know if you remember or not but that is my son Casey piloting The Beast for you that day. He also piloted BigRay800's DS800 in it's class too. Them Sasselli boys were unstoppable in their classes, but the times had by all were good and the turnout was much better than they have generated recently. Everybody moving on to the SXS market it seems. Brought back some good memories for sure. That one wheel launch at the end is just insane. Lots of power The Beast laid to the ground!
  18. $6K down and only $350 a month for 11 years is what's posted in the other twenty places that I found this same add. No credit check though!
  19. Thanks Mike. Is there like an HOA fee also or is that included in the monthly spot fee? Are these guys part of CRA like Emerald Cove or their own resort association? Are you limited to the 180 days of use like the others, and are there restrictions against subletting?
  20. Mike would you mind listing all annual associated fees and taxes that a person might incur with this property? Or if not PM them maybe? Is this at one of the resorts such as Emerald Cove? Little more info please. Thanks and Semper Fi, Ace edit: Just noticed the Echo Lodge in the title. Got a little excited!lol
  21. Sad news for us as fans for sure. Dude was very dominant at what he did. Smart that he is choosing not to tempt fate with his spine. I lost use of my right arm from some compression at C-4, his injury is much lower and could cause some big time life altering issues if redamaged. Hopefully he'll end up in the booth.
  22. Bad a$$ pics! I'm assuming that this isn't accessible via a RZR? Would love to explore some of what you've shown. Can't tell if that's a dual sport or not, street legal? Guess I need to google earth some of it...
  23. Is it located somewhere? Might it have a size? Would there be some contact info?
