  2. haha, well I still plan on making a day trip out of Halloween at D and maybe a 1 nighter for that Sat night if I end up drinking. I'm gonna maybe try and dune-groupie it that day.
  3. Sweet! So is it gonna be a DVD or what? That would be badass. Will have to wait and see what the outcome is....
  4. Thanks Jason. It's been up for over a week or two now though.

  7. Oh yeah I am fully aware of that. This motor was built abaout 10 years ago so I wont be throwing any NOS at it only cause I don't wanna push it too far. If I remember right - the pistons are hyperutechtic (sp?). They aren't forged. It boils the tires very easily. I'll have to get some video of it roasting the tires one day. The trans has a toggle switch wired in for the converter lockup. I had to keep it simple and fully manual ya know.
  8. Hey Mike. Do you mean it wouldn't run at all? Unless you are planning on primarily riding it up there, I wouldn't jet it. It is a pretty big pain in the azz to get to the carb on utility quads. Was it just sluggish or did it barley run at all? My Grizzly and Raptor run fat up at Coral if I don't jet them down, but they still run though. You may need a valve adjustment if it ran that bad or not at all.
  9. We have a winner. Homepage has been updated with 80grit's pic.

  11. To tell you the truth, ever since I put the OD trans in I haven't even driven it enough to know. This thing never gets taken out that much.
  12. I know, but I'll just get it from you next time I see ya. Besides, that $$ has to go back into savings and not be spent. :beerbong:
  13. If they can reach myspace and they are a duner, then they can reach this site. I'm not building a friggen DDR myspace page. That's retarded. Besides the info is already on this site for duners to see. Just put up DDR's link on your pages. The important info and links are listed on our homepage. They don't even need to be a forum member to access it all.
  14. Hey Jodi, unfortunatley I don't think me and monkie can make it tomorrow. She caught some bad cold thing over the last day or two and she's been pretty sick today. Besides, after the Barstow trip I am now kinda broke till payday on Thursday. I'll know for sure tomorrow, but I doubt we can go. Sorry.
  15. I had an idea for web banners for signatures, myspace pages, websites etc. I am going to make a couple different banners in different sizes, shapes, and colors etc and put them all on one page on the site with a copy/ paste code that everyone can use for wherever they'd like to link the banner(s).
  16. Good luck Danielle, Chris, and family. Sounds like it will be a good move and you will enjoy your new home up there. Stay in touch and keep us posted about your crazy farkan adventures. :clown:
  17. Yes you did Brian...just by being there. Just showing up shows the BLM we care and we support our riding areas. They really appreciate when duners show up...mostly for the reason you said, a learning experience.
  18. If you guys wanna talk about English and Spanish- start a new topic! Thanks Kamal. It's a ~9.5/10:1 small block 406 with cam (can't even remeber which one anymore, lol), Bowtie heads, roller rockers, Kieth Black pistons, headers, Street Dominator intake, etc etc Trans used to be a TH350, but I swapped it with a 700R4 so I had overdrive. It's got 3:73's in the rear too.
  19. I don't care. I'm still not working on it. :?: How do I get by? Because I live in America where the current language spoken here is English. That's pretty conveinant for me because it just so happens to be the same language I speak. duh! Oh and BTW, it has been a rule here on DDR since day 1.
  20. Just got in after a long and very boring drive from Barstow. Anyways here how it went today. I'll do my best to summarize it. Terry (ynot) and everyone else there today can add what they think is worth mentioning from the meeting. The meeting went really well. The BLM and William Presch are definitely working hard on this IN OUR FAVOR. It's looking good. We brought a bunch of good ideas to the BLM today which they were happy to hear from us. They were all ideas to help educate Dumont users about the critical habitat areas and to help keep duners from going into these areas. Other grant money and reserves will be used for this important item instead. The BLM is already planning on putting up a cable and post fence before the railroad burm out to the northeast of the dunes to keep people from going past this area. Note: this does NOT affect where we already ride and the cost of the fencing project will NOT be taken out of our fee money. The data from William Presch's studies was submitted to US Fish & Wildlife for review. Recently he has been studying the population of the lizard and how distinct it is in and around Dumont Dunes. I believe his findings actually ended up being in our favor. The only traces of Fringe Toed lizards in or around Dumont were in areas where we already do not ride. The lizard resides in areas of vegetation and only in a certain grain of sand (different from that of the dunes we ride on). So what this all means is that the lizard is basically not threatened by OHV's unless we go out of bounds into the areas where it lives. Between the lizard data present by Bill Presch and the conservation efforts that the BLM and we, as duners, are willing to make, hopefully the US Fish and Wildlife will not list the lizard as a distinct population or endangered species. The BLM stated that it will be another 6-12 months before US Fish & Wildlife actually finalize their decision. It's looking good though. I really don't think it will get listed. Everyone REALLY needs to help with this by staying in bounds. We can't stress that enough. It's not even that hard to do. There's no reason to ride out there anyways. It just tears up your paddles anyhow.
