    new Duramax engine: about 8-9K labor to put it in: about $3,000 There have been two instances where customers have had to pay for their own engine because GM would not warranty theirs due to aftermarket programmers (not bio fuel) causing engine damage. They have come to about 11-12K for the completed job. yikes.

    just keep looking. I just found a 2000 Tracker 4WD for 3200 obo, but it was sold already. They are out there, you just have to keep looking for when they pop up and then jump on them.

    Anyone else going out this weekend? :6pak: This will be my last trip of the 07/08 season. Kinda sad, but it has been a great season this year and I have had some really good trips with great friends. I'm looking forward to getting a few really good last rides in and then partying my azz off. After this it's time for sand up north and the lake!

    yeah I might run it too on something like that, but not on a $50K truck with a much more advanced diesel engine that is still under warranty. Just my .02. mmm I want some french frys now

    Wait...whaaaaat? :6pak: Actually Sick Sand Travel cars (red one pictured) and Short Sand Cars are alomst exactly the same size. By the looks of it, that car might actually be a tad shorter than my car. That car looks slightly similar to mine because Josie (who owns or owned SST) started with a SSC before he built his own Busa rails. I'm sure he used a few similar aspects of the SSC when designing his. Everything I have seen come out of his shop is very nice.

    If I didn't have so much other crap going on I'd already own one. They fuggin rock. I can't find any pics of it in action, but ask Joe Duner. That thing will actually DUNE at a speed of like 35-40 mph.

    I'd stick with a Tracker or Sidekick. Bert has one and it does amazingly well. Air down and put it in 4 LO and it will outclimb and out-dune most sidexside out there!

    Hey guys thanks a bunch for all the props and kind words. It's good to hear stuff like this after all the hard work and countless hours I put in on this computer to keep the site updated and consistantly fresh and new.

    It's more hard pack to the left as you enter. You will do just fine though as long as you stay away from the finger dunes (which are on the right side coming in on the entrance road). If you get up close to them it tends to get pretty soft. Otherwise you can get in and out just about anywhere there with 4WD.

    yes. It makes much more sense now, poopd*ck. He's off to a good start. Now he just needs about 3 more threads that are 7 pages long each talking about sandcars with stars! "hey what about this one?.....how about this car?...hey look at my new car that I MIGHT get!" Too bad you didn't get that car, warrior. Looks like a nice lil SST.

I am done with this topic now because "we" keep talking about things that have been beaten into the ground over and over in the past. Besides, those things are off topic anyhow. The thread was started to talk about the grant money that was used in other areas. Ok, now I'm done.

    My last full weekend trip of the season is this weekend. Can't wait to get one last good ride in before the 07/08 season goes bye bye. Then it's lake time!
