  1. yeah...my awning! I got a small burn hole in it from some "flying debris" on Saturday. I should have listened to Joe about parking so close to the fire. that wasn't the only reason I got home so late. Today was BEAUTIFUL out! Other than the rail it was an epic weekend.
  2. Thanks Terry. We'll talk about it sometime. I have talked with Tom in the past as well. He is a very nice guy from the conversation I had. Yeah...ya think??? They definitley have a spindle design flaw. Granted the frame broke where it had been welded on in the past, but there is no excuse why these spidnles keep breaking. The frame was probably more than likely weakend from the previous welds from those frame repairs.
  3. Yeah, tell me about it! These pics don't even show how bad the car is. The frame is broke in about 4 spots- you can't really see in the pics how bad the floor and front end is buckled. Here's how we got it back to camp...we took the front end suspension off and loaded it up in Pauly's pickup. Paul's truck now holds the title for most uses out of a pickup in the dunes. As Joe Duner said..."that's one expensive whip mount for that truck!" I posted some pics in the gallery from this weekend here.
  4. It's back and tagged up w/ more DDR stickers than ever before. We went a lil overboard.
  5. They be able to ride. It shouldn't be TOO crowded.
  6. Good times like always. The weather couldn't have been better, sand was smooth. I still can't believe how nice it was especially for what the forecast was for the weekend! It was great hanging out w/ everyone. I'm glad that everyone was able to make it out- even for the day on Saturday. Good times, guys. Some really sh*tty news. My sandrail frame is destroyed. I somehow broke ANOTHER spindle. YES, ANOTHER SPINDLE! I wasn't even doing anything crazy. I was cresting a steep razor and bang...the right front wheel goes flying off and Pauly & I get a face full of sand and came to a stop really fast. I looked down and noticed my frame was broken in about 3 places (non-repairable). The frame cracked and broke right in the spots that had been welded on from previous damage (cracks that developed). Needless to say I am very unsatisified with this spindle design. This time it cost me a sandrail. So I am gonna save whatever I can from the car (motor, seats, shocks, etc) and build another car. I just have to make some decisions and figure out what I am gonna do. I'd like a Tom Pro car for my next rail. We'll have to see how much cash I can scrape together. I'll post up pics soon.
  7. Whats up! Welcome to DDR. Here's what I run...it's actually an LED tailight from some kind of Nissan :chev_bowtie: :finger_smiley:
  8. Hey what's up, bud? :finger_smiley: How have you and your wife been? We need to plan another trip w/ you guys. :chev_bowtie:
  9. Damn! Looks like it sank into the ground! :chev_bowtie: :finger_smiley:
  10. I'm leaving within an hour or so. I'm waiting for sanddunesaddict to get here with some parts for OGP. He broke an axle today on his rail and messed some stuff up on his car. :chev_bowtie: :finger_smiley:
  11. yep...exactly. :chev_bowtie: :finger_smiley:
  12. yeah...like that a$$ pucker feeling you get when he does this! :ahhhhh: :ahhhhh: :ahhhhh: :ahhhhh: :chev_bowtie: sorry dude, I HAD to!
  13. I hear ya. Word of mouth is EVERYTHING these days!
  14. only the 01 models have weak trannies from wjat I have heard. I've beat the sh*t outta mine (02) and haven't had a problem with it yet. I agree though, Craptors are great duner bikes.
  15. I can understand your frustration, Mike. That really sucks. Sorry to hear. note: technically this is a personal attack, but we'll let it fly this time.
  16. the smiley wasn't necessarily meant for you. I agree. I bet hillshooting is fun if you won something more than a slow a$$ Craptor like me, but I still can't see sitting there all day running over and over and over up the hill. I'm a duner. now we're really :jester:
  17. water weighs about 8 pounds per gallon. I personally haven't ever felt the difference being full or empty on water. Heavy is heavy. 7,000, 9,000, 12,000- it all feels the same to me. It doesn't matter much when you have a diesel anyways. Just my .02.
  18. Yeah he has that bike running pretty good. From what he's told me though, he is putting the bike back to a duner though. I'm glad too because we haven't done much duning since he has been hill shooting it.
  19. yeah....I can " LT500 WooHoo " congrats Kayla
  20. I was expecting your a$$es to be much more hurt over my post. Damn...oh well- I tried. Hope you can somehow still make it.
  21. Yeah, that's him (SandYFZ here on DDR, AaronB on YFZtech)
  22. it does dune well though once you re-gear it. Ask PaulyPaul or racnjasen- they love theirs for duning. Thats all we do. We don't hill shoot much at all.
