  1. Thanks again Trav! :mc_smiley: I love em. They make the truck look completely different. I stopped at work on the way home and turned the torsions up a smidge more. They rub juuuust a little when backing up on the front bumper trim, but that's no biggie. I'll just trim it a little more. I'm sure they will rub a little also if I hit something hard enough (on an incline when turned far enough) , but I tried on the way home and no rubbage yet. Oh and hey Trav, thanks for getting some pics and posting them up. The truck looks much better now than when I had on those ugly grey steel stockers.... I still don't know why that's the only wheel you can get in a 3500 1 ton. Doesn't matter though, GM doesn't offer 18's anyways. :headbang: BEFORE...
  2. sweet!! :headbang: Good to hear! Give me a ring when Don gets in town and lets find some time to all get a drink together or something. :mc_smiley:

Yeah that's what we used to use and it DID work great. No setup either! :headbang: The only thing is- Bert (sanddunesaddict) is gonna be camping separate from us and noone else has an enclosed trailer like he has. We have used his trailer till now but everybody else has toyhaulers or motorhomes w/ flatbeds. The white tarp on the side of the toyhauler might work even better. We'll see. :mc_smiley:
  4. Yep, he's FULL BEAN! :mc_smiley:

    WTF does that mean?
  6. Oops. Sorry CrazyMexEddie. I guess I just figured that he would be there no matter what. Sand storm, holiday family gatherings, stuck truck, etc.... :mc_smiley: Don't feel left out Ed, we love ya you crazy mexican. :headbang:
  7. :mc_smiley: Yeah he did that when I took him for a little putt putt in my car when I first got it- and that was only putting around on those little dunes near where he camps. :headbang: I opened up the throttle about 3/4 way and he started waving his hands in the air screaming "no, no, stop!!!!" <--this is no joke either He told me is was cause we were in a minirail and there wasn't much protection around us. He also said he wasn't scared one bit in your car. Liar, Kenny!
  8. NO sh*t!!?? :mc_smiley: That's why I'm not going to do it again. I already have a sandrail. I meant I wasn't gonna take 65 grand out of my equity for a sandrail that I wasn't even going to buy in the first place. It's a hypothetical situation we are talking about here, Berrrrt. :headbang: How did this thread go from a SSC for sale to me buying a $65K Tatum car????????????????? Jesus
  9. Steve, I am pretty sure the usually peeps will be w/ us. PaulyPaul & FMFLover (Angela),ISBB, thumper, Tacomama, VegasJones, maybe Pierceboy, Superdave, Vince, possibly Dave L & Steve, and maybe a few others on DDR that said they may camp w/ us on that weekend. Did I miss anybody???? :mc_smiley:
  10. I was going to eventually get those made up, along w/ a bunch of other cool ideas too. Time & money- 2 things that are hard to come by sometimes. They will come about soon enough though. Start a new thread under DDR Gear if anyone wants to talk more about it.
  11. I wasn't even gonna do a refi, but thanks anyways. I'm keeping the equity I have in my house.
  12. Aaron, I see knobby tires on that bike! I know you didn't ride that effer in the desert!
  13. Oh we're definitely going. I just wanted evreyone to help decide on the way we should do the traditional DDR rides every trip. I'll post up the NewYears DDR ride closer to NewYear's weekend.
  14. Nick, I don't think you know what I am saying. I think some people including myself (that have both a rail & a bike) would like to do a strictly buggy ride AND a bike ride w/ everyone. If I cruise out w/ everyone to the north pole on my bike, how am I gonna go from there on a buggy ride w/ everyone else? der
  15. That sucks, Joe. Hope you get it together and can make it out. Last trip was fun duning w/ you guys.
  16. (since I can't ride a bike yet/ still recovering) -That would work for me on New Years, but I'd like to do a quad or 2 wheeler ride w/ everyone AND get a chance to do just a sandrail ride w/ the DDR buggy owners as well on other trips to come. I think it should be everyone on one ride and then just buggies on another. Any more imput from other DDR peeps that have or would like to meet up on the rides. As far as leading, I know a lot of people don't like to lead. I myself love to lead so that's ok w/ me.
  17. Ok so for those that are new, we all try to get as meny people from the board to meet up every big weekend at Dumont and go for a dune ride. We have had 3 DDR meet up rides so far and they were all fun and were a great chance to meet everybody from DDR in person. Don29palms mentioned to me last trip that we should maybe have a separate DDR ride just for buggies. I think we should do a DDR ride where everybody meets up (buggies, bikes, quads, etc), then another ride (earlier or later in the weekend) to get all the buggies together for a DDR buggy run. What does everybody else think?
  18. Yeah he told me the same thing- paying $$CASH$$!!!! Dayyuumm!
  19. LMFAO!!! ^^^ That's some funny shiat! Chuck, for the record Kenny's name is rhinoking remember? Not duneking. He doesn't actually dune at the dunes. He just cruises around on the flats and comp in that painted up Rhino of his. He couldn't be king of the dunes, this is why he picked rhinoking. I love givin Kenny sh*t!
  20. These cars have around 21" of travel in the front and 18" in the rear. Yes, no comparison in car as a whole though. As much as I like the Busa minirails, yeah I 'd have to go w/ the Tatum for 65 or 70K (like I said). But when it comes to the hill and the power to weight ratio- these minirails have a strong advantage. They weigh about 750-800 lbs and this one is putting down 360 to the rear wheels. That is a huge power/ weight advantage for the hill at least. As much as the mini rails handle so well, they do lack weight and wheelbase that the fullsize cars have. That is a huge benefit in the whoops especially. I guess you can't really compare the two. Its like comparing a two wheeler (dirtbike) to a quad. They are actually two different machines. That SSC minirail would do better at some things and the Tatum would do better at others. Whatever. I don't have the cash for either one, so I shouldn't even be discussing this.
  21. Yeah I hear ya. However, this thing would spank that Tatum on the hill or through the dunes. I know what your saying though, Trav. I think I'd rather have a full size (Tatum) for the money. :headbang:
  22. :headbang: His F350, duh? <-- ISBB :skeet: dee dee deeeee
