I'll be there, first trip to D since 03.

I tried it once at dumont....and it sucked. Crashed half way down the hill, ended up with a bad headache and sand in every orifice. Ruined the rest of my day at the dunes.

Been using mine for a few seasons now. Used veggie oil or used oil mixed with gas and you're good to go. Diesel works just as well. Diesel will burn longer than straight gas but won't get as hot. They are awesome on a cold night, no one has to fight the smoke alley blowing from a fire. Sure they don't replace a campfire but they are great for hanging out and socializing. The air pollution thing came about because of what was being burned in them, it was like a tar oil substance. So if you picture 1000 smudge pots bellowing this black cloud over the crops every winter. But one or two in a camp being used as a heater shouldn't be a problem. I've been approached by rangers in Calico, they stopped and we talked about them...the rangers in the campground use them to stay warm. Smudge on!

Paddles like everyone says, I would also get front sand tires. Drop one tooth size on the front sprocket. The HRC kit for the 05 will add some good power and also comes a new exhaust end cap, I had mine done at a shop because it involves putting a new cam in. Something I didn't want to mess with.

Do You Honestly Clean-Up after your pet at the Dunes?
TeeDuner replied to Duneraider's topic in General Chat
At buttercup, I would have picked up their dogs crap and piled it in front of their rig. If they still didn't get the hint I would have had to say something. Create any friction? But it was ok for them to create an uncomfortable camping location and siutation. I would rather have the friction. I would have responded to the email in CAPS saying it's because of those frickin dogs that so and so has. We have two dogs and I sure as heck clean up with a pooper scooper My little one still likes to play in the sand and build stuff, that'd be nasty for them to dig into the sand and uncover a big ol dry dog turd. -
I hate people that make responsible riders look bad!

Good job minor, you did a great thing by trying to help. What phone service do you have?

They've created forums on gd for those organizations. So they are becoming involved as well as creating their own glamis specific things like adopt a wash. I guess they have decided to take the fight to another level and for that funds are needed. So should I have waited to donate until someone shows me how the money is being spent or trust them and give right away. For now I didn't see any reason to not trust them. On the lighter side of things if it turns out we were all scammed and they turn tail and run with my $65....well I spent that the other night at Hooters :ahhhhh:

Proud premium glamisdunes.com and ddr.com member..... Yea at first I was skeptical and thought WTF!!! The more I thought about it and the more I listened to what the master plan is I thought ok I'll give it a go. It wasn't about which board perk I was losing becuase of not being a premium member. I've been an off roader my whole life, I'm now 37....that's a long friggin time. I've seen enough of our rights as off roaders taken away that it makes me sick. The least I can do is pay 17.8 cents per day to an online community who says they will fight the fight. The added perks of being a premium memeber were done to try and entice people into paying. So before you go bashing....think what you would do if this site said hey were gonna fight it! Please help us. Oh and not all of us on gd.com are jacka$$es....but you get some in every crowd. :ahhhhh:

You should get a tap mounted on the side with a line running to a little pony keg

I still ride Glamis during the summer, full moon weekends. Ride at night and early morning. Sleep during the day or go jump in the canal. Without a trailer and AC it's pretty tuff though.
