  1. My parents used to rent out the Havasu house to family for $170 a weekend. My mom is big into decorating and the house is friggin beautiful. It was cool untill it got to friends and friends of friends. Things would get broken and stolen every time and it was almost always a bad experience for them. Needless to say they havn't rented it out for about 10 years now and they are much happier. Just a little something about my experiences. I would tell them sorry, check El Monte RV.
  2. Me and Tami will be headed up fri afternoon, hopefully we can make it before dark so we can set up easier. I think were going to camp near or with the main DDR peeps again if that's cool with you guys, I plan on not making an of myself this time. . I had a blast with you guys on new years weekend. :freakin_nuts: Just put the DDR sticker on the truck, representin' now
  3. Some more pics from 2/11. Sunset and Cahuenga This is how we get on boards when it's too much of a hassle to place a ladder, it's much easier and funner.
  4. Those guys are nuts , I was watchin them on History Channel one time. I think if they get too close to the towers it will ground them and they get flash fried. I at least stand on a 2' wide deck.
  5. It is definitley a job that you have to get used to. I was huggin the board and didn't want to get off my knee's (I'll pay for that remark) the first day. I was good to go after about a week. It's really a pretty easy job as far as the work goes, the worst part about it is when we have to clip the 80 lb vinyls with our safty line to our harness and tote it up 50' on a vertical ladder, not fun, that thing is friggin heavy. I think the pay is ok for the job, $14 an hour. But I'm only 21 and most of the guys I work with are under 25. Not a career job but I'm goin to school for a local 12 job, $38 an hour is much better. I will take more pics of the "crazy" stuff and post them as I go. Thanks for all the kudos.
  6. I put up a new billboard ad in Inglewood last week, now they have something new to look at. That's my contribution.
  7. So here are some pics (with phone) of the new gig I got changing out ads on billboards and walls of buildings. We did the 7 story AMPAS (Oscars) building on Wilshire but I erased the pics. Was a little shakey the first week but 3 weeks in now and I'm fairly comfortable. Enjoy. Today at the Block at Orange. This at the Sunset and Vine complex in Hollywood. Most of our boards are in Hollywood and west of LA. This is my favorite, were about 90' up at the bottom of the board looking down at Vine, it's another 24' to the top walkway.
  8. Wow, that Lohan family has some problems. I think she looks like good ole Lindsey.
  9. This tent was eaten up by the cajon pass coming back from new years, but I'm getting a new one that specifically fits my truck for Presidents weekend.
  10. I had very little experience with anything dirt when I bought my LTR in april 07, but I had learned and ridden a buddy's YFZ a few times. I was actually going to buy a YFZ when I was looking, I had looked at both and settled on the YFZ only because it had 1" more clearance at the rear sprocket. When I went with my girlfriend to buy hers at the Honda/Suzuki dealership, I told the salesman I was on my way to buy the YFZ up the street after we got done with hers. He came back with a good price and I told him no mainly because I got the same price on the YFZ and extra clearance. But then he got into telling me about the differences between them, and I settled on the LTR and I absolute love it. I really didn't care what I wanted in the beginning as I didn't know too much about it, I did my research and it came between the YFZ and LTR, I think both are great quads. On a side note, My girlfrind bought a '07 Honda TRX250EX, I am very dissapointed with the fit and finish of that bike. It is just falling apart, givin she does ride it hard and jump it, she keeps up with my 450. Not a big fan of Honda anymore. Good luck, I'm sure you will be happy with whatever you end up with, you're doing the best thing...Research.
  11. You do have to camp in the sand, I havent seen any hard pack like at Dumont on the flats. Once you go 5 feet away from the high tide, it gets soft. You will have no problem with 4x4, I've seen people camping with T/H's pretty much in the main dunes. Depending on the tide, there is usually a highway along the water that is hard and easy to drive on (cars can do it), the farther from the water, the softer the sand. You dont have to worry about it, you will be fine, finding a good spot can be hard though, it gets pretty packed.
  12. I've been to Pismo twice this year. Whoops weren't too bad at the drags. No comp hill during the summer, well if there is, I couldn't find it. The 1500 acre's that's available you can see in 30 mins, it's pretty small. It's great for bikes and farm equipment (Rhino's, Rangers, RZR's), not really big enough for a high power rail, it's too small and busy to really open it up. V-Dub's would be good. I never had a problem with rust, I never stayed the night since we stayed at the hotels. I stayed away from the water and the main roadway along the water line. There is a highway away from the water against the hills, you can ride that to get to the dunes. Quads were washed real good when we got home and I dont see a spec of rust anywhere. There are a few coin washes in town where you can give everything a good wash. It's hard to find a good flowing line in the dunes since the wind only blows in from the ocean, all of the steep faces are on one side. Dropoff's are scary and can be hard to see during certain times of the day. I recommend just taking an easy put around to get used to it before hitting 4th and 5th gear. I will be back a few more times this summer for sure, maybe camp out for a few nights if I can make it work with the S-10, sand gets real soft 5 ft above the high tide line. 4 wheel drive is a must if you want to camp without the worry of the tide coming in. Good luck if you head out, I will most likely post in "Other Riding Spots" if I make any trips out there. Maybe we could meet up and get a few rides in.
  13. It was on L.A. channel 7 at 11:30 today. I had to come on let everyone know.
  14. On the way to our first job this morning at 5:30, and it opened up over the 210 frwy just past the 605. Hail was at least an 1" thick on the freeway. I saw at least 5 people spin out on the eastbound lanes. One guy spun it at least 4 times in the middle of the freeway and recovered it and drove off, friggin sweet . Our Dodge Ram crewcab longbed got a little sideways, but we saved it. Hey sandseekeer whats up, I'm right below you in Covina.
  15. It's true, people tell me I'm ugly without my hat. It's instant beautification for me. :moonwalk:
  16. Looks like we'll be at the D. No ones goin to Glamis anymore. I'll see if I can scrape some peeps together for this trip. Otherwise I'll be lookin to camp with DDR peeps again.
  17. I'm going for sure but don't know if I'm going to D or Glamis yet. I'm letting Tami make the decision this time.
  18. :argue: :porn: :fro: I need a whopper like britney spears needs panties, I need a whopper like michael vick needs johnny cochran.
  19. Done and Done! Sad story though. I have family in Orcutt, I'm going to check to see if they knew that douche that ran her over. :argue:
  20. Well I got the new job but were not goin to make it this weekend. But more trips in the future for sure. Have fun everybody.
  21. :rainbow1: I just heard I might be gettin a new job this week. If so I may be able to swing a trip out this weekend. I hope it works out that way. :praying:
