the 2000 fords stock height also stood a little taller than what is coming out of the factory these days why did they veer away from the 7.3?? have you test driven it yet?

I would have liked the long bed, and had a chance to get a red one, but having a short truck bed is better than not having a truck!! DIESELS ROCK!!!

FIRST, i pinned the torsion bars up as high as they would go. bolts to the rail then, I trimmed the fender skirts. then, I pulled back the brake cable, and zip-tied it to the round hole close by it, to keep it out of the way of the tire. I have H2 rims on it, with the chevy centers technically, the tires are 315/70/17's, but measure 34.7 inches across the center, while on the truck

this post is just my opinion....I am NOT trying to start a brand flaming war Dodge- The motor is great, probably the best of all the big three. The cummins has less parts, thus less to go wrong the problem with the Dodges are the rest of the truck.......the virtually fall apart around the engine. Also, the tranny in the dodges sux azz. still a 4 speed, iirc, 48re....tons of problems....cannot handle the torque of the cummins. Ford- The 7.3's were the shizzle. why ford went away from them . the early 6.0s where major malfunctions. when I bought , I stayed the hell away from the ford 6.0's. Since about 2005 and on, though, the 6.0's have become pretty reliable. plus, ford now has the torqueshift tranny, which is pretty much an allison clone (copying IS a form of flattery). several of my neighbors have 2006 fords, and haven't had a bit of a hiccup with them. Chevy- I have a 2003 CC short bed 4x4 with the dura/ally combo.....what can I say? I havent had a problem with it. able to put 35's ON A STOCK SUSPENSION , and with a tuner.....IT FUGGIN ROCKS THE 2005.5 fords also respond well to mods, like programmers, chips, bigger intercoolers, etc final line Chevy 1st, Ford 2nd, Dodge.........NEVER. JUST my OPINION

just because someone wanted to save thousands of dollars, and go somewhere else, doesn't give ANY business the right to PURPOSELY treat you like a red-headed step child. that is why I suggested going to a different dealer, or just an RV repair shop. It is just of my opinion, that if you want safe, you wouldn't park next to a freekin dune, the things we ride on, when we go to dumont, not the flats, the dunes?? What I don't get, is that you cry safety, but park in one of the most dangerous places to camp in the dunes. that is all my point is.

not only should taping/coning off the finger dunes be illegal, and ticketed, but rebar in the sand is a lawsuit waiting to happen If I were to run over rebar, put in the sand by some AZZhole, and I run over it, and get hurt, reck my ride, and whatever else, you bet your AZZ that is negligence on THEIR part why stop at rebar??? hell, plant some fuggin land mines out there!!! put a 50 cal turret on top of the toy hauler and kill anyone that comes within 100 meters of camp!!!! where does the lunacy stop????

that is the battery disconnect, which stops taking battery power, and also doesn't ALLOW for the batteries to charge. just gotta remember to pull it back out when running the genny, to charge up the batteries

I'm glad you think like that. Unfortunately, the people that want to get rid of OUR sport(s) don't think that way. they see it as 3 fatalities in one day. They will use this information to the best of their ability come time to meet with whoever they meet with to try to shut Dumont down, one way, or another. trust me, I go through this crap with Oceano Dunes too!

question... why do the rangers let people courdon off the top of the finger dunes? what is next? some azzhole taping off comp hill? super bowl? with the excuse, "this is MY camp" suggestion. maybe when ddr is present @ dumont, with crowds, two-three people in a side by side could go around to as many campsites as possible, and just give them the heads up. (i would be willing to do it for a couple hours when I am there.)

nothing against DF as a moderator, and the other members, but this thread has run it's course, and has imploded into a finger-pointing match. it was not meant to be a cheap shot at you DF... it was just that things are usually so friendly around here, that hardly any moderating needs to be done.....that was my point
