A guy in our camp made these for us. They are LED street lamps that he bought off eBay. He built the boxes and we put them on top of RV's at night. These lights are very bright and can be seen from a long distance away. We have several of these on top of our RV's and you can point them in different directions. Its easy to find camp at night, just look for the 2 or 4 street lamps on top of RV's. Check out this thread that shows how he made them. DSD Camp Lights

I found a helmet Sunday afternoon on top the first finger near the camping area. If you look at the DDR grid map, I found it in grid C-8. It looks to be a kids helmet, maybe a female, so if you know someone missing a helmet, PM me a description of the helmet and goggles and a way to get in touch with the owner. Please pass this on because I'm sure someone out there is upset over the loss of their helmet.

Like Cheese stated, some are okay, some are not. I'm not going to take the chance and just put it back to stock for a while. Plus, it only takes a few minutes to reprogram the computer after it gets inspected.

That's my plan too, set it back to stock a few weeks before I have to take it in.

FYI on this. A friend of mine took his truck in right after he set his tuner back to stock. The tech turned him away saying there wasn't enough data saved in the computer for him to pass smog. He had to drive it around for a fews days and re-do the smog test. Not sure if this is happening all over the place but it can happen.

No lighted flag need to ride at night, just a flag will do.

We'll be there, doing a 12 day stay in Dumont starting on the 11th and staying to the 22nd.

We'll be there. We missed Halloween and we're missing the Poker Run so we're making T-day a nice long trip. We'll be there Monday morning and staying to the following Tuesday.

I'll be out there for my first trip of the year. Leaving in the morning and staying to Monday. I'll be out there with 6-7 others in my group.

LOL, I'll add a few more beers in my cooler so slow me down some too.

I'll be out there on Thursday with a group of 4-5 rigs. We'll also be heading out Easter weekend. Sean, South Pole on Saturday sounds good, see you there.

Maybe he was the decoy? Tape a beer on the sober guy's bumper and have him drive around so the cops will pull him over. Once he's out of the area, his really drunk friends drive home in the opposite direction.

He said he had full coverage, but someone out there told him to have it towed to the road and report the fire there because insurance won't cover the loss because it was off-road. Does anybody know if this is a fact? I'm going to check with my insurance company to find out it it true, don't want to find out the hard way that I'm not covered if I'm in Dumont and something happens.

We met those guys, 3 of them from Vegas, at Comp Hill that night. We we're on our way back from Comp with them when we saw the truck on fire. Luckily a bunch of people had already unhooked the guys enclosed trailer (which had another quad inside) from the truck and moved it away. They also found the keys to the second truck, which had the toyhauler attached with the dog inside, and moved it away from the fire. If anyone was there that night, a big "Thanks" to you for helping out. The truck was a 02 or 03 Chevy that was just paid off. The owner of the truck just moved here (living with his sister in Vegas) and that truck and trailer was all he had. We stayed with them until the tow truck arrived and towed the truck away. Once things settled down, we used one of our trucks and towed his enclosed trailer to our camp where he stayed until his sister could drive out the next morning with a truck to tow it back to Vegas. The other two drove the truck and toyhauler over and stayed with us too. The quad that burned belonged to the third guy, not the owner of the truck. The quad was left at camp because he had two quads out there for the weekend. We talked with the three guys after getting them all over to our camp about what happened. I also talked with the Fire Capt out there about what happened. From what I could gather, they had a fire going before they left for Comp Hill. The owner of the truck filled his quad with gas (not the one that burned) but overfilled it, yup, right next to the truck. They left for Comp but left the fire going, opps, another bad mistake. With it being windy that night, ambers from the fire might have blown toward his truck and fell where he overfilled his quad, starting the sand on fire. That caught his truck on fire which in turn, caught the other quys quad on fire. These guys were new to Dumont, only they're second time out so they still have a lot to learn out camping. They're good guys, just made some bad mistakes before leaving camp.

I'm ready to go. Going to take a few hour nap then head out a pick up YFZBob. We should be up there between 5-6 tonight.

That's our plan, bring enough fluids to keep us hydrated during the rides and at the hill.

Guess I'll have to bring out more gas. I'm sure Bob and I will ride with you, but go slow, us old fat guys can't ride that fast.

YFZBob and myself will be there from the DSD site. I'll be leaving Fontana by 3pm to pick up Bob so we should be there around 6:30pm.

I don't seeing any big changes for us, we'll still make it out to Dumont at least once a month, maybe twice. If we do cut back and only make one trip a month, I'll make my dune trips longer, spend at least five to six days out there each trip. But our Lake Mead trips will be cut down some. Filling up the boat three days in a row cost more than a week long trip to Dumont.

We stopped by the set on Monday to see what was going on too. We asked if we could hang out and watch and they told us as long as we're not in the shot, we could stay. So we spent our time between rides watching them film.
