hello all,

first off i kn ow that that this is a "dune" site; but im sure most of you also trail ride as well. im new to the west coast; or at least much more west than mimai, fl, im looking for some good riding areas with trees, grass, wildlife, etc. we've got sports quads and will soon hopefully be adding some new toys to the collection. i've camped way north "fish lake" but did not have the toys; seemed like a sweet area to bring them though. heard coral pink kinda has a mixture of sand and trails / trees. any input would be great! the wife enjoys the dunes, but really wants to explore mountain trails.....

we started to explore the mt charleston area but never made it all the way up; i've been told you can go all the way over to pahrump.....

thanks DDR.....oh also, what type of turn out are we expecting to see at the 70cc regatta?

No worries, plenty of us trail ride as well. We actually have a section just fr other areas. Maybe I will just move this topic over there. lol Take a look through the places in that section. You will see plenty of feedback for those areas.

As far as sand and trails, I Love Coral Pink and Little Sahara up in UT. Those two places kick major a$$ for the sandy trails and trees.

I still haven't been to the Paiute trail up in Marysvale, UT but would love to check that place out.

Some local areas to trail ride are Lovell Canyon/ Wheelers Pass, which goes over to Mt Charleston I believe.

Many people talk hella crap about it, but I still like riding out at Apex/ Nellis Dunes from time to time. Rn knobbies and skidplates if you go out there though.

As for the 70cc regatta :porn:  , we don't have an exact # yet since everyone hasn't rsvp'd, but it should be PRETTY BIG. :dayum: :atc: :thumb::laughing: You should come out for the festivities, man.

we started to explore the mt charleston area but never made it all the way up;

to go over the top you take the cold creek road to the west by the Prison at Indian Springs.

There is a little camping area there past the little community to use as your base and a trail takes you over the Hump to Pahrump!!

Research the Piute trail system in Utah it has miles and miles of mountain trails to ride. thats good in the main summer months, not for winter use.

Up I15 by the Valley of fire there is a trail called Bitter Springs, look it up and a good ride in Logandale Trails too. Can be found on the computer!!!

So much of our Federal lands have been closed down around town lately that trips are needed to have fun..Forgot about Nellis dunes, a good day trip up I15 by Apex!!

Good Luck and Ride Safe!!!

The Paiute trail is AWESOME! We've camped up there twice in Circleville and once in Marysvale. I loved Marysvale way better - more central access to trails.

Duck Creek, UT is also pretty sweet. A nice little town with some good restaurants. There's some camping, too. What we didn't like about it was that some of the trails didn't allow vehicles larger than a quad. We got to most trails on our RZR S. Also, you can't ride down the road on a ATV (You can in the Paiute Trail towns).

We've done some fun day trips in Logandale, Overton, the dry lake bed in Jean and Boulder City and the trail from the Mt Charleston area to Goodsprings (this was my favorite, as we ended up at the Pioneer Saloon, which is really cool).

Happy riding!!! :banghead:
