Cell phone service at Dumont

Just a quick question about cell phone service at Dumont. Is there any AT&T service out there anywhere?

It has been about 3 years sence I have been out to the big D and I remember having to ride around with my phone out and wait for the bars to show up. Has any server put any repeaters out in that area yet?

Most places out in the flats where people camp now have cell service. We used to camp a lot at bathroom #3 and usually showed 3-4 bars on our phones. It also depends on your service (we have Verizon and Sprint).

no on At&t I heard you can get it by the north pole? but NO way in the camp area u will loose service about 5 miles before Dumont coming either way

I haven't heard of AT&T working out there. I know in a few spots Verizon and Sprint work great.

There's probably 29 topics about this if you did a search. Verizon works 95% of the time in most places. I haven't heard of AT&T working out there though.

I have AT&T. Very spotty in the camp areas. Seems better as you go easterly.

Works at North pole good, voice and data.

Works at or near the top of most dunes with a clear shot towards Baker.

What people call Banshee hill, used to be called Cell phone hill. Works good there.

I have been told ATT works at the north pole but I have not been able to get the reception myself. I now have a pay as you go phone with Verizon soley for Dumont trips.

verizon it works any where, I had other carriers and no workie for me I would had to drive around without any luck

i have att and t and it sucks azz @dumont

verizon works because they have the contract for the emergency phones along the 126

i gotta get a pay as you blow phone from verizon for this trip...wife and kids coming a couple days later

Are the pay as you go the same as a trac phone? They are cheap enough if so. Not a bad idea to keep one around just in case of injuries.

okay...i got off the phone with tracfone...you can buy a phone from them...the one im looking at is 14.99. it comes with free 60 day activiation, and 10 free minutes

you dont need to re up at the end of 60 days, just opt out of it

i had to give them the zip code to dumont (thanks for putting it on the home page Pete...i was the first result for dumont dunes zip code on google..

much MUCH cheaper than pay as you blow Verizon
