So far all is going good! The plan is to leave earlier Saturday morning and be at Dumont by 12 noon. 3-4 hour drive for us. Then leave Monday afternoon, after the mobs mass exit in the morning. We'll get a good morning/afternoon ride in before we leave!

@dunefreak you going to be out for New Years?

If you camp to the left of the road than you can see ridges that flow outward an are covered with small rocks. This makes a firm pathway. However, you want to stay out of the valleys between the ridges of rock as they can be soft. If you have to cross one of them, look for tracks and build up a steady head of steam as you go to cross them. If you choose to go to the right the area between bathroom 6 and the last finger or around the rockpile is usually pretty firm. Any way you go pay attention to other's tracks and if it looks like it's soft trust me it is.

I would also prior to hitting the road, check your MH frame for a good spot to hook on, most pushers don't really have a good spot forward and the hitch is the best spot to get hooked up on. Trailers can always be picked up and brought to you after you get unstuck. Carry at least one really good stretch strap maybe 2.

Good luck!

We've been going to Dumont for close to 40 years now and usually camp in the canyon towing a 5th wheel with a 4x4.  This year will be our first year in a Class A motor home up on top.  Any tips on not getting this beast stuck?

Momentum and if you are towing a 2 or 3 axle trailer do not turn too sharp.

Well, made it out! A little later than we wanted but we are here! Made it late Saturday night. So far great weather! If anyone is around we are camped next to the Ranger Station on the ridge over looking the pay station. Class C Jayco with a enclosed trailer, red sand car, and 2 quads. Stop and say hi!
