quote from dirty dykstra dude there is no way your bike is only putting out only 59hp and if it is then I'd sugest finding someone else to do your mods Ya because his bike has only won 2 four stroke wars in its class, and MMAD his builder. The bikes he setup only won king of the hill and damn near every class they entered. But hey whos counting.Must be the 5/8 fuel line
-
No offense but that is a very crappy setup,i guarantee your bike isnt putting out nowhere near 60hp.Thats just crazy.Whoever dynoed your bike, his dyno must be reading 20hp high.I have tons of experience with YFZ's and you have to have a high dollar build to make 60+HP on a 450 based quad.Ive dumped a pretty penny into mine along with plenty of testing and it runs very hard but isnt making 60hp,maybe 54-56ish if im lucky.1badyfz has one of the fastest stockbores in the country for example and is making 59hp.Whoever told you your bike dyno'ed 62HP should be slapped.
-
Ill take you up on that say when.I agree, thats total bullcrap.I have a built yfz thats very fast and it sure as hell isnt putting out 62hp.

Only 9 views, hope you guys are running your stock flywheels, lmao!!!

Over Presidents Day weekend a friend of mine was at Dumont racing up the hill when his 04 trx450r stalled out.He couldnt get it re started and felt like it had low compression so he called it a day. When he got home he pulled the head checked the topend and replaced the gaskets but it wouldnt start still. Then he figured out it had no spark.Thats what led to checking the stator and flywheel.Thats when he discovered the 2 piece flywheel. He has been running it for about a year.It was on a built stockbore. It was shocking to see this. What could have caused this. :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: :shocker: What do you think??

I see you made it to dumont. How did it run?

After the sandrail crash in the bowl, everyone scattered and alot of us got left behind.I had to go after that, and didnt get a chance to say bye. That was a really fun day.Perfect weather.

Ive ran both comp cut padla brats, haulers and UL Haulers. The padla brats are 10x better duning tire than the haulers. They slide way better and are the lightest sand tire you can get.If you are worried about holes dont get them grooved.I duned my comp cut brats for a very long time with no holes, they are a 4 ply tire. They also offer tire slime in them incase they do puncture. If you are careful not to blatantly run things over it wont be a problem..The padla brats are the BEST all around performing tire hands down. The best hillshooting tire IMO is the UL haulers.I dune my 22" haulers and its no walk in the park because all the sidewall flex.If you go with a regular or UL hauler i would recommend a 21" 6 cup on 8x7 or 8x8 wheels. If you get padla brats i would get 6 cup comps on 8x7 wheels. The brats cant match the top speed of the haulers and the haulers arent are nice to dune as the brats.Pick your preference and get them.I would order them from Fullerton Sand Sports. You can get there number in the search on the net.Ask for Joe.He has both haulers and brats in stock with a nice variety of wheel sizes.

The girl you see me racing over and over is ruth from utah, she has a built up yfz as well. She won the womens class at 4 Stroke Wars last year.Best female rider/racer ive seen.

Music I think this is the tune you were looking for JK ..Man be careful,i keep having this vision in my head of that belt snapping and slapping you across the face For performance sake i hope it works, that would be awesome

I just got finished taking a couple steps back from hillshooting .I ditched most of my drag parts to get back to duner status.I ditched my billet axle for a Durablue x-33.I ditched my Woods drag pipe for a Sparks big core.I also ditched my Shaws for some Elka Dune Editions. The motor is still the same :xmas_lipsrsealed: Mostly just some chassis switches to make it a nice riding duner.Hillshooting is in my blood but i really missed duning. So i had to meet somewhere in the middle. It will still haul a$$ up the hills but it is totally duneable and i can finally jump again.I took my Elkas and polished the red out of them.I painted the header with a high heat paint and polished the silencer.I also cut the turndown style cap on it.The X-33 looks real nice with the chrome and also has the billet hubs.Last trip out i was pretty bummed when Pete and Bert tried to get me to go duning but i couldnt with the shaws because the dunes were so rough. So after that i decided i would take a few steps back from the drag stuff. Here are a few pics of what i did. Polished Elkas X-33 Sparks Big core before end cap trimmage After Im really looking forward to some haulin a$$ dune rides, its been a while

The turbo bikes ive seen run werent impressive and most were on nitrous too, they took too long to spool up and by the time they did the race was over.Im sure they will get them working eventually and be awesome but until then save your money.

call fullerton sand sports, they can get you haulers in any size, they also sell the best all around tire on the planet for dunes, the 21x12x8 6 cup comp cut sand tires unlimited padla brats. For pure duning the sand skate 1 on a 20x10x10 wheel is awesome. If you go with haulers i would get a 21x12x8 6 cup regular hauler.Call and ask for Joe.....714-898-2049 -
i have never seen a fast predator at dumont or glamis :yeah_whatever: are we talking fast in a straight away race,or up a hill?my friend sold his predator for a yfz and said the predator was a total turd compared to his yfz.ive seen some fast ones in the midwest that nicholas cycle built but none out west.

Dont feel bad ive spent thousands trying different tire, pipe, and motor combo's.When i first started i had no clue what worked good with my YFZ.The more i read on the internet i finally started understanding what i needed to do.All i can say is EBAY!!!I would just sell my old stuff on ebay and buy what i needed.I can tell you right now what the difference will be by changing your rear tires.Your bike will accelerate and pull each gear longer with the 21x12x8 6 cup haulers. On dune rides it will take a little more effort to turn but your bike will run so much better overall you wont care.If you want the best overall hill/dune tire get the Sand tires unlimited comp cut 21x12x8 padla brats on a 8x7 wheel. They are pricey at $400 a set but are the lightest tire on the market and dune way better than haulers. If you want to save money just get the 6 cup regular haulers on a 8x8 wheel. They are alot cheaper, just dont quite dune as good as the brats.Ive had both and the brats are the best all around tire, and just give up a hair on the hill.I sold mine to get a taller tire for hillshooting. What you are running now is ok,just limited in what they can do.You can do alot more gearing wise with the 21x12x8 haulers, and the brats are so light(9.5lbs each with the wheel)You can get away with taller gearing and still run the hills very hard. You will notice a very big difference in the way your bike runs just by changing to a lighter tire setup.Night and day....
-
Ya 20x10x10 7 cup extremes are a good duning tire, but 21x12x8 haulers will give you alot better mph up the hills. If you decide to change them i would go with a 21x12x8 6 cup regular hauler. You really dont need extremes.6 cups will also make duning a little more pleasant on an 8" wheel. The tires you are running now are about the slowest style haulers for the hill speeds, not to mention alot heavier.By cutting down the rotational mass on the rear end your quad will accelerate much quicker which makes all of your duning more enjoyeable.
-
Dude i thought you had a REAL quad A REAL quad pulls 4th no problem, even with a 240lb rider,LMAO!!!......JK.... Seriously though if you are close to pulling 4th with a 14-38 you should start adjusting your rear sprocket to fine tune it.Maybe a 14-39 or a 14-40 depending on how much more you need.Dropping teeth on the front sprocket on the 450's is usually overkill and overdoes whatever you are shooting for.Good Luck.
-
Nice Banner Pete!!! Ill be out for the day,if im lucky ill be able to stick around for the night fun too
-
Man i had a super fun time.Im really sorry i didnt get to hang out and talk to you guys more, but i only had 4-5hrs to stay and ride.Hopefully im freed up for Halloween and can visit more.Awesome Pics Pete!!!You guys have grown into a huge camp, its pretty awesome To think a few years ago there were like 5-6 trailers and now how big it is...Pretty cool.
-
Dyno...you dont need no stinkin dyno :freakin_nuts: My 450 has never seen a dyno yet.All my tuning was done on the a$$ dyno.
-
That turd will need all the spray it can get to run with a piped YFZ
-
I agree with that,Banshees are badass drag bikes
