I posted pics and links to the gps data, it was in response to the thread about some Cal politician trying to transfer the property to the marine training facility, something like that. Just Google Johnson Valley or search DDR for the thread. The finger pic looked like "the bird" lol. Don't remember the exact thread but it asked people to sign a petition etc.

Pete, just remembered another trick on the pics, take 1 pic and copy, sharpen 1 and blur the backround of the other and then clone the sharpened subject (bike and rider) into the blurred background, gives it some depth.

Still good pics. You able to shoot burst or single only? Pete, the outdoor Nationals are starting, you ever been to Glen Helen? There's some uphills and drop offs you'll trip out on! Daytime so 1.4 ext friendly. The LOORS race was this weekend in AZ, Whelchel won Sat U2 but was center punched Sun. Jerry Daugherty took 3rd in the U4 Sat, not sure what happened Sun. Check out the web site, they have video this time loaded already.

More, more ..... C'mon, you have an 8GB card ......

Try it, from +1 to -1 can make a big diff, you can recover a dark clear pic but not a correctly exp but fuzzy pic (from too high ISO). I found that my 40D (and most likely a 50D) gets color perfect providing you can get the white balance right, either in cam or editing where the lighting ALWAYS can be improved in editing, until I can figure out how to tune the magic wand. Here's a couple of your pics with just lighting tweaks with your exposure, focus, ISO, white balance set absolutely text book perfect. I think the best description of what's done is just increasing the dynamic range is all. Try editing a pic into 3 diff pics; light, normal, and dark then clone diff parts together and you can get a pic that's eye popping. There, FM defined, lol! The best part is at this point (you correctly having all the settings right, assuming acceptible ISO noise) is there's no right or wrong, just better and for your personal preference. Again, good pics

Awesome! Pete, you say exp +1, to make the pic lighter? If so when the light is iffy you can comp the exp darker to get a faster speed or lower ISO and bring back the exp (light) in editing. These DSLRs have tons of gradation in the shadows that your eye can't see and you can bring lots of detail out of what appears black. Good work and only a couple months with real glass!!

Pete, the Villapoto corner drift pic is BAD! (as in good) crossed up drift and he's looking where he is going. They're all good pics but like his finish whip too! I'm guessing you used the white lens probably f2.8... what kind of TV and ISO were you able to use? Ha ha, your turn!

Yes, Chad did run him off the track but that's just part of a long feud between the two, remember earlier in the race when James slowed and kept looking over his shoulder waiting for Chad to pass but didn't? The two both told each other they would take the other one out and Chad knew what James had in mind when James slowed down, and when have you ever seen James slow down to let somebody pass? The media either doesn't pass this kind of info along or isn't privy to it, but you didn't hear it from me cause I'm not one to gossip! :?:

Pete ...... remember, we use FM! Friggin Magic :clown: -
Sorry to hear you had to go through that but glad you didn't have ANYTHING close to H1N1!
-
I'm not an alarmist but you say half your students were in Mexico and some had symptoms and now you have the symptoms you say but too late to call in sick? Either you have a great sense of humor or you have H1N1 and CNN written all over it. Keep this in perspective, the average death toll in US every year from influenza is 35,000. Cheese, post a retraction and say "just kidding" before they runny shiat hits the fan and parents form a 21st century lynch mob. Sorry, just my opinion

I still remember the original star trek communicators and thought not in my lifetime and don't think they had cameras and internet wasn't around yet, ya young whippersnappers

I have an older LG (Verizon) that has 5 diff resolutions to choose for pics up to 1280x960, adj white bal, briteness, color effects like vivid, sepia, solari and nite mode...... if u RN2 it so there's probably a new version that's as good as our Canons, :clown:

Now you are a photographer, have the equipment, never satisfied with your work, always trying to do better, and a dash of humble for good measure. PS: Terribles 250 this weekend at Primm ...... Stop by and meet Jerry W., we'll have the CHM big rig

Pete, sounds like you had a good time, hope you have lots of HD space, Costco has DVDs in bulk, lol! The 72 lite was about as far on the nose without an endo as any. Glad to "see" you remember the basics and not get lost pixel counting, good work Pete! Maybe you can make it to So Cal for the LOORS and RJs Torque series too, I don't think I'm going any farther east than Phoenix for now. -
What does 1 have to do to get in the elite group like ISBB?

Championship Off Road Racing (CORR) is back
RUn2it replied to RUn2it's topic in Shows, Expos, and Races
The Last 2 years I just parked next to Buffalo Bills between the track and the frontage road that parallels the freeway. It was used as overflow parking for competitors too. There's no paid RV parking there this time either so probably no change from prior years. -
So you want to debate that? That might mean you're a master debater... :stir:
