  1. Was tricky, they had different exposure levels and your camera/lens had some wide angle so had to crop even on the sides, but it turned out prety good anyway. Glad you like it.
  2. When you put a paddle on it the traction helps keep the front light so that will help too
  3. Cool pics Jodi, really liked this one. Hope you don't mind but I did some editing to it and if you want it I'll post it, afterall ... you took the photo :angry2:
  4. I saw myth busters test radar defeating stuff but not photo defeating spray, which I never heard of unless you use Krylon black paint Photo proof would be best, for speeding and red lights. Wonder how their camera would fair if it was hit with a laser when the shutter opened, fry the sensor maybe.
  5. Hmmmm, need a small 2"x6" piece of sheet metal that flips down over 1 of the characters on your plate with a different number/letter that is actuated by cable or remote somehow or a complete fake plate of your boss's, ex's, azzhat neighbor's license plate number
  6. Didn't see the part about the decent prices or discounts for DDR members in your post but did see the part that says "but can't find it anywhere" so not sure what $140 will get you. Never heard anyone complain, he built my exhaust on my truck 15 years ago, got the Magnaflow for my MOHO from him and he's a half block off the main street thru Victorville and don't think he started charging for estimates. But you have other choices here.
  7. The hill shooters I've seen in the 10k range are usually over 1000cc like the Hayabusa 1300-1340cc and near 200 HP stock and don't just bolt in a quad frame without modification. I'd say if a hillshooter is what you want get 1 with a Z or Busa motor, my guess is that LT will be eating roost against the big boys and won't be a great quad for dune running either. That said there's still Banshees out there although the numbers are dwindling if that's your idea. PS a quad is only as good as the last guy that built/maintained the engine.
  8. Like I said, Howards muffler, he'll gas weld it, no wire feed or he can mandrel bend new tubing. He's had that shop at least since the early '70s. He has a bad a$$ off-road jeep he takes to Dumont. You probably need to support it better, probably why it cracked.
  9. I didn't shoot this one, just wanted people to see what a camera could do. :beer_bang:
  10. And with a 30D and that 10-22 lens is $699 new, not an "L" and not that fast either. Sunset & sunrise is the ticket for landscape shots. On the dust issue, a dark background and dust on the sensor will show up as well.
  11. Addicted to sand is like any other addiction apparently, do without for a short time and you get just a little edgy.... :beer_bang:
  12. I was thinking about submitting a pic I shot in a Yosemite meadow on a challenge photo website as I looked at the pics that had been submitted thinking they looked pretty good but thought my pic would be competitive till I saw this photo. Is it just me or is this picture awesome? Wanted to share this and it shows what can be done with a camera. It was taken last September with a Canon 30D with a 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 lens.
  13. Dang, if I'm asked if I have a website I'm answering "hell no!".
  14. Howards muffler in Victorville, on Mojave Dr between 7th and the high school.
  15. If a tip or technique isn't of sufficient depth for someone to understand it's a waste of my and their time. Maybe tip means just the tip, and technique means how you hold the camera, lol.
  16. W-40 base is kerosene. I worked at a car dealer as a kid and the old detailer would put kerosene in the wash water and we could wash 4-5 cars on the lot at once then dry without water spots, and protects the finish with a thin film that keeps bug, tar, road grime from sticking. Keeps fiberglass from drying out too. Still use it today. I use kerosene on my quads o-ring chain and it's 10 years old and not stretched yet, a 500 LT. Kerosene is the base for a lot of automotive products.
  17. If you edited the 1st pic it was only cropped&resized. A pic can start degrading because it gets compressed each time it's saved to JPEG format, I never edit a JPEG that's already been edited. Not relevent in this case but if you're going to open a JPEG to edit and want to save it to edit more later save it in TIFF format, it's uncompressed, they only drawback is a 4-5MB JPEG saved as a TIFF can be 30MB easily. Another variable is monitor output, most have too much blue. I didn't use any noise reduction, the wheels in the first pic were dark, read all my post, I cloned the wheels from a copy that had the shadows lightened, the helmet is lightened also and pushed the saturation and mid level contrast just a little on the door. There's a difference in the foreground dirt and the only editing it got was from the overall white balance. That's it.
  18. The trucks were cropped & resized from a 4MB 3888x2592 to 669KB 1143x762 and on my screen your edit looks like the unedited pic with maybe a white balance adjustment. Maybe I'm missing something or our monitors are have different RGB settings my edit is on the left, yours on the right, what do you see?
  19. I've seen some clear rock guard protectant some place like Pepboys I think, just glanced at it and it supposed to wash off. At the time I wondered why you would want rock guard that washed off but maybe this will work for the bugs.
  20. OK, 5000 DDR members .... you might have the Guiness record for mooning the most people! Great pic Pete.
  21. It's all in fun and everyone and their brother has had a go at you so...... that's man booty! Just foolin, besides I sniff dog butts. Wait, female dog butts, whew... that was close, wouldn't want anyone thinking I'm perverted
