  1. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/index.php?showtopic=15437&pid=215577&st=0entry215577 Doghouse just posted, but thought it should be mentioned here also so everyone going sees it....This weekend is free^^ Happy Veterans Day.
  2. Wanted: Swingarm Skid plate for 07 Suzuki LTR450 Bent my swingarm skid plate at Duck Creek and it's now rubbing on the chain, haven't taken it off yet to see if we can bend it back. So I'm just checking if anyone has one laying around that they want to get rid of for cheap...before Thanksgiving.
  3. ATV stores are the same way, that's how specialty stores make their $$$...$16 for an o-ring for my fuel filter online, but $27 at a local shop. Just have to factor in how far are you willing to travel, how quickly do you need it and how much for shipping costs.
  4. Bert Jim Me You should come join the party and waste even more time!
  5. The dash looks even better in person! How many hours did that take lol.
  6. Weekly passes are good for 7 days from the 'start' date you pick. If a Holiday is included in any of those 7 days then you have to pay the extra price. http://www.blm.gov/pgdata/etc/medialib/blm/ca/pdf/pdfs/barstow_pdfs.Par.57559.File.dat/Important%20Information%20about%20Dumont%20Dunes%20passes.pdf "Passes are good for 7 days, but if you will be at Dumont for any of the following holiday dates you will need a holiday pass October 29- Nov 4 Nov 25 - Dec 1 Dec 30 - Jan 5 2009 Jan 14-20 Feb 11-17 Now, if you buy a pass near a holiday week, the sales person may ask what days you are going out. For example, if you buy a pass Jan 10, a 7 day pass would include several “holiday days”. If you were only going out for the non-holidays, such as Jan 10-12, the salesperson may date the pass for Jan 10-Jan 13 to avoid the Jan 14 – Jan 20 holiday period. This would allow you to buy a $30 pass as you would not be at the dunes during a holiday. If you wanted the pass for the full 7 days it would include holiday days so you would need a $40 pass."

  8. Yup, said the same last year. Read the back of the pass, I think it explains it on there and it says you are supposed to put your name and license plate # on it.
  9. Awesome, glad she likes it! Can't wait to see her in it.
  10. Heck NO! Never too early for that kind of stuff. I just got Madi her 1st helmet . Congrats Bert and Ashley
  11. Sorry about your doggie It's hard... Good luck on your search. Just a tip, take someone 'mechanically inclined' when you check out used trailers, it's always good to have an extra set of eyes checking things out. If you haven't looked on GD.com they usually have a lot of things for sale.
  12. Red trucks are the best . Congrats, very nice truck.
  13. Buy from a private party and save some serious $$$ I have a little 2 person tent you can have
  14. I like 'em! Lets see some pics of the whole thing.
  15. She would do fine without reverse! She can learn to avoid situations where she would need it and if something happened where she would need it then get off your bike and help her ...seriously she is perfectly capable of handling a bike without reverse, don't forget the Z400 is a heavy a$$ bike, the 450's are all lighter. The Z400 is wider, longer and faster than the KFX450...The KFX is a sport quad just like the Z400, it's not a race bike like the Yam/Suz/Honda 450's. Stock the widest 450's stock are the LTR and YFZ at about 49". The Honda and Kawi are the same at about 46". The Z400 is 47". Wide rims are the cheapest way to make a bike wider and more stable...don't remember what she is using?? My LTR is like 52"...I also have an extended axle, so it's wide both front and rear...almost impossible to roll. I've had girls who have never ridden in the dunes before transitioning razors on my bike without ever feeling like they were going to roll. If you decide not to buy something before next season she is welcome to try out my LTR and I'm sure Jim wouldn't mind her trying his YFZ. I agree I don't like the Raptors either. If I was going to upgrade anything on my Z400 I'd have changed out the shocks, that bike is way too stiff and with a softer ride you can go faster! With basic mods it's just as fast as a stock 450, I don't know what mods she has done? If she likes her Z400 might it be worth it to just buy some black plastics, do some basic mods, get better shocks and tires/rims? IMO she would be disappointed in the KFX, it's nothing better than the Z400. Good luck .
  16. Thanks Craig...not looking for a lot of power mods just yet...she is a beginner , but I'm sure I'll get her skills up quickly and then we will start with the power mods and then I'll be asking you for the same on a Honda TRX450 even though those are easier to find info on. Definately have to get front tires asap... I just figured out that Polaris has a unique bolt pattern up front :worthless_without_pics: so do you know if there is an easy/cheap way to change it out so it would be the honda/suz/kawi pattern?? Will also look into re-gearing it... Do you know if it's a common issue on those to not want to go into neutral? It's almost impossible to get neutral on that bike! Thanks, I hadn't been to that one yet .
  17. Looking for some info, 1st hand dune experience on this quad...A friend of ours just got this bike and we are trying to figure out how to make it more 'dunable'. It's stock except skat trak paddles, definately have to replace the 18" dirt tires on the front... then of course the standard mods... Anyone know of any forums for the Polaris Outlaw? The Polaris specific ones I've checked so far don't have much info about the Outlaw 450. Thanks :worthless_without_pics:
  18. Coral Pink are sand dunes in Utah...but there are no vendors out there. http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_coral_pink.htm Yes, people are going to be heading for water from now till sept-oct when they will be heading back to Dumont.
  19. It's too hot for most people to head to Dumont for Memorial weekend....Coral Pink and the Lakes are the spots to be now.
  20. ^^ SandChick's honda is a kick start and doesn't have reverse, they ride together . ^^ Amanda already has an LTZ400 An old friend of mine bought one when they 1st came out, I'd just bought my Z400 at the time....we raced a couple times with both bikes basically stock and that KFX450 was a turd, the Z400 beat it every time. He had too many issues with it and I think traded it for a YFZ. If you are looking to upgrade to a 450 for more power then I don't think the KFX is the best choice. I don't know much about ride comfort or handling, I only rode it a couple times. It's a sporty bike like the Z400, not a race style like the other 450's. IMO the reason you don't see them very often is they don't compare to the YFZ450, LTR450 or TRX450's, stick with what works, right. I just went from a Z400 to an LTR last season and I haven't ridden the Z400 since, it just sits in the garage I upgraded for better handling and comfort. I hardly ever used the reverse on the Z400, mostly just to move it out of the trailer or out of camp, but never while out riding. I don't think reverse is worth buying a bike that isn't going to meet your needs. I don't have any problem moving the LTR not having reverse and if I can move it I know Amanda can handle it without an issue and it actually weighs a little less. Our friend Mary just picked up a Polaris Outlaw 450, it has reverse and is a light bike. I don't know anything about it though and we didn't race it against anything to see what kind of power it has. She is a beginner rider, so hard to know how well it performed in the dunes and we've only had it out once. It's a comfortable ride though. The new Honda 450's are electric start...aren't all of the 450's now electric start? What doesn't she like about the Z400 and what is she looking for in a 450?? Which 450's has she ridden and what did she like and not like about them?
  21. Just thinking that maybe you should know how to spell the position you are applying for first http://www.careerplanner.com/job-descripti...vestigators.cfm I do surveillance, but not in a casino so can't help you there. Good luck.

  23. I'm preparing for the same thing sometime in the near future with Chubby. He is 11yrs old and has arthritis in his hips and knees and has a fatty tumor in his neck that keeps growing and they can't remove it. He just isn't getting around as well anymore and his demeanor is changing. I keep hoping he will go naturally and I won't have to make the decision . I definately understand your feelings and I'm sorry you have to go through this.
  24. You are so bored you had to make 2 names to talk back and forth with yourself??
