LOUISVILLE, Ky. – With the help of a $250,000 reward, the founder of the Papa John's pizza chain has finally reunited with the muscle car he sold years ago to help keep his family's business afloat. John Schnatter sold the gold-and-black 1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 for $2,800 in 1983. The money helped save his father's tavern in Jeffersonville, Ind., and he used the rest to start what would become a worldwide pizza business. But he still missed his beloved Camaro and spent years searching for it. He created a Web site on the search, held promotional appearances and eventually offered $250,000 to whoever found it. It turns out he didn't have to leave Kentucky, where the pizza chain is based in Louisville. The car only changed hands twice from the original buyers, ending up with Jeffery Robinson in Flatwoods, about 165 miles to the east. "When I first saw it I still wanted to look it over to make sure it was the car even though I knew it," Schnatter told The Associated Press. "That kind of hit me emotionally. I was kind of numb." The original buyers of Schnatter's car heard about the search when he appeared in a TV interview before an NFL game this month. An online search led them to the car blog Jalopnik, which has followed the search and tipped off Papa John's. Robinson, who bought the car about five years ago for $4,000, recently delivered the Camaro to Schnatter, earning the $250,000 reward. The original buyers will get $25,000 for their help tracking it down. Schnatter says it looks very much the same as it did when he sold it in 1983, but with a larger motor and fatter tires for drag racing. The car will be displayed at the company headquarters in Louisville, replacing a replica Schnatter commissioned while he searched for his original car. Then he was able to get it back after all those years. Makes ya not worry so bad about selling your stuff when it's for the right reasons. Things always seem to work out in the end.

I saw those added front steering axle trailers a couple years ago at the sand sports show. Pretty trick! You have quite the setup now. New pusher, kickass stacker, new long travel rail, ....etc. Congrats, Paul. Next season should be kickass.

Free Agent used to go by yfzdad on the board. He changed his name. You are correct, Pat. It's pretty much a given that a meet & greet is every Sat at 2pm on a holiday weekend at the south pole. Hell, some people still make it a tradition even on the off weekends to still go out. Ya never know who might just show.

I just thought it would be a good idea to start a list of things to start thinking about getting ready for dune season. Ya know, the things that oftens get overlooked like changing the genny oil, checking to see you are due for a chain/ sprocket set, etc. I'll start. Try and copy/ paste the list and keep it going if possible. :dumbass: -check trailer tires for separation/ proper air pressure -generator oil/ filter/ maintenance -current OHV stickers on all toys -whips/flags that are in decent shape -air filters on anything & everything with a motor -new gloves? ditch those old holey ones -check batteries on bikes and trailer that have been sitting -check flashlights for fresh batteries -propane levels

I got "pretty good" first try. Thats after 2 beers too! I am still convinced beer makes everything better. LOL

So here's the story. We get this BLM/ government truck (Chevy Uplander) in the dealership today for a crank/ no start condition. Sandsnake actually pawned the job off to me since I had nothing going on this afternoon. I said "sure why not?" Well, come to find out the PCM harness (which consists of about 15-20 wires) was chewed through about 75% of the way by a rodent. :fight: I looked a little further in the airbox where the PCM sits and I saw a tail. I think to myself, ok a dead rat. No biggie. I grabbed my long nose needle nose pliers to grab it and all of a sudden it squirmed into the air duct a little farther into the fender. Son of a biatch was still alive! I shot it in the a$$ with some brake cleaner and bam it was gone. So now the whole shop is gathered around the truck looking for this rodent. It was a good size fugger too. We're looking in the inner fender, pulling off the wheels, the fender liners, etc. Jim sarted spraying every nook and cranny with the water hose and nothing. We can find this thing anywhere. As we sat there and the excitement calmed down, Jim noticed the lil bastard sitting on the pass side strut tower just starting at us. :dumbass: After shooting it with some shop air LOL, it squirmed into the pass side fender this time. There were so many hiding spots for this lil guy it was SO hard to find him. I kept shooting water in every inner frame rail and crossmember and nothing. To make a long story shorter....after many attempts of using the water hose, compressed air, looking everywhere with flashlights and mirrors, Jim finally used compressed air and brake cleaner and shot it in a crossmember and it ran out and hit the ground. I caught it with a push broom. It squeeled and pissed itself LOL and then I dumped it in a box outside. BaBerrrt felt bad for it so he's gonna take it to the desert for a new home. Today was slow as hell until this happened. Then it was quite the eventful day. NEVER A DULL MOMENT! :clown: The pics.... chewed up wires (lil blurry sorry)... Danny from body shop got everyone good with the fake a$$ shop snake. THE SUSPECT Bert has a new friend. Now I gotta reassemble this damn truck back together and finally start working on it. :angry2:
