You do know that GVWR means the weight of the truck PLUS the amount of weight it can haul, right? Your truck doesn't actually WEIGH 13,000 lbs Tony. And no, I don't think you need a smog because of the GVWR is over 10K. BTW, sorry we hijacked the thread, dreamrr

Joe and Tim...I can't make it out the weekend of the 7th - 9th I have plans to be at the strip for NHRA that whole weekend...sorry. I might not make it out till Easter weekend.

Dates for what, Joe? Easter is on the 16th, so the weekend of the 14th - 16th would be Easter weekend if that's what your talking about. It's even on the damn DDR calendar. der

I didn't really get the details other than he wants to get the his information (about the amount of visitors and the amount of $$ taken in and where it goes) to a big group or organization that can do something about the whole deal. Like I said, I didn't speak very long w/ him as I had stuff to get packed up when I was trying to leave. Duniemonkie might be able to explain more beacuse she talked a little bit more about it w/ him than I did. This is also why I said for eveyone to stop by and talk to him and get the whole story from him and his wife first hand.

I won't be going to Dumont as I had planned on the weekend of April 7th-9th. My buddy called me the other day and reminded me about the drags that are coming up. I missed the last ones, so I am definitely going again this time. My buddy & I will have a RV spot in the El Monte RV lot near the entrance to the drags on that side of the track. So I will have the new toyhauler out there that weekend! :angry: :angry: It's the only way to do NHRA! Anyone else going out? Diesel or not.... It's the 3RD registration but 2ND RENEWAL. Your first registration in CA wasn't a renewal, hence the 2ND renewal is when you need your first smog. der I think I'd know, I have been renewing this stupid license for 10 freaking years now. I know all the stupid smog laws. :huh: :angry:

I have a smog license and you need your first smog when you get your 2nd registration renewal.

I should be there Easter weekend. Our group doesn't have too many kids nor is it mellow at times. :icon_twisted: But your welcome to camp w/ us if you want. As for getting stuck, just stay back 100-200 feet from the finger dunes and you should be ok. It is fairly packed.

More than likely- Memorial weekend

Over the cleanup weekend as we were cleaning up and getting ready to take off a very respectable guy walked up to say hello to us and find out what DDR is all about. (He saw our banner) His name is Don. Him & his wife, Ellen live out at Dumont in the winter time. They are a retired couple out of Oregon who are volunteers for Dumont that help keep the bathrooms clean, pickup trash, help the BLM w/ emergencies, and educate duners of Dumont w/ a wealth of information about not only Dumont but the Mojave Desert as well. They can tell you about some real good trails in the area. I wish I had a chance to go over to their camp w/ duniemonkie but I had a bunch to load up before the bad weather rolled in late Sunday. They busted out the photo album and told her some very interesting stories. They would like everyone to stop by next time you are out at Dumont and say hi and see what they are all about. They have some interesting facts about the amount of visitors Dumont gets each season and how the funds are being used. Ask them about that! It is something that needs to be addressed and Dumont Dune Riders might be the ones who can get the ball rolling w/ what his plan is. So please...next time you are out at Dumont stop by his camp and say hello and thanks. They put in alot of hard work for Dumont which needs to be recognized. (They are the camp near bathroom 10 with a big motorhome and orange fence around their camp.)

Yeah I bet it was. I have been out there before when there wasn't hardly anyone out there and YES I AGREE- IT KICKS a$$!! Try early October early in the AM, now that's nice!! NOBODY.... and VIRGIN SAND!
