  1. Tyler so were you the really drunk one in the group that could hardly stand up, who by the way was riding a quad? I dont know why you think its ok to gett hammered and then get on a quad. Oh wait your young and think that your superman, just remember what happened to Christopher Reeves. How is that any diffrent than driving a car. Also you guys should feel lucky that all of you didnt get MIP's that night. We were all standing there when the cops showed and you all skattered like flys, stashing your beers under the truck and all. We were all kids once but atleast have a little common sense and dont drink in public and then be surprised that the cops nab you. I cant wait untill next year when this airs to see how it all looked on film. And what did your little friends parents think when they found out. I doubt they were happy with you or her. Just think it was your 15 minutes of fame, I hope that you look good on film. We talked with the rail driver and he was hired to take the Party Police people around. Look for it next year on court tv.
  2. Ok as one of the others that was camped with brad I ve got a few things to say to motoxman 30. First of all or camp was no where near the size of motoxman's camp. Second the "finger" that was roped of was a "finger" to no where. We were camped out of the way of all of the main traffic but did not realize that there would be a camp war with our neighbors. As for not going out on the busy weekends with the kids, some people dont have anyother time to go out with the kids other than the big weekends. If you have a problem with someone just man up and come over and talk with us. Trust me we are very reasonable people. I really cant understand why some people have this huge problem with saftey measures that people take to try and safegaurd there kids. Im sorry but a drunk fool with a piece of metal in his skull is any day better than a dead kid. Just think about that one. And thanks for bringing back the cones. Al
  3. Bob first of all thank you for your observations at Glamis. Glad to hear they have stepped up with the dumpsters. I have witnessed them in the past and what a mess. As long as the LEO's are there to help people make it a good safe experiance I think that is all that any of us can ask for. Now for what everyone on this thread thinks is the big issue with dumpsters at Dumont, wich since we have people that like to dump all of there household trash out there, are needed. Vicki talks about the cost of dumpsters and collection I think that the BLM can share some of the wealth of the $120 passes and it wouldnt hurt them a bit. Also why not try and get some sponsors, there are enough big dollar companies that benifit from Dumont that could put a little money back and it wouldnt hurt them a bit. I can see it now the weekend warrior sponsored dumpster, yamaha, honda, etc... And finally has anyone contacted the garbage company to see what the cost would be and if they would be interested in helping out. I know that Pahrump Valley Disposal has the contract for Death Valley and the owners are pretty forward thinking. I dunno if Baker has a garbage service but maybey someone should look into it. It would be nice for everyone to do there part and pack in pack out. But there are too many idiots that come out and trash our dunes that any little thing might help. Also I dont know how many time I have been completely filled up with others trash on my way home and need more room to get it all out of the dunes. Dumpsters would help, even if its pilled up near it it would make dume cleanup easier. Just a thought.
  4. why some much hate for Strippers they are people too. And who knows maybey this was a training course for them, you know dancing on the pole for the first time, come on give em a break. Plus I would rather see strippers out there than a bunch of drunken idiots getting into fights in front of kids for no apparent reason, other than some one made fun of his boots. Which is better for the youth of today, strippers or drunken brawls? You choose, for the most part they can see one of these at home.
  5. Ok I have a solution to the woes in this thread, just dig a big hole at night and dump you water therfor no one will see you do it, and either use bamboo, wood, or pvc pipe to mark out your camp so the A$$HATS dont try and run over the little wee ones. Even taking that one further you should run piano wire between the stakes that way when they still drive through you can get ther attention. People wouldnt have to mark off ther camps if others wouldnt try and break land speed records through them, and just be polite to there fellow duners.
  6. Well my friends we as Americans have to stop bowing to the wims of the Center for Biological Diversity, Sierra Club, ELF, and other Eco-terrorist organizations. We need to put into power people that will stand up for our freedoms too. Elect the right people and things will change. The ASA is fighting hard for our rights and trying to reopen areas of glamis. Problem is that it is easy to shut down an area but its hard to get it open. Support the right people and businesses and things just might change. The sad thing is the people that support the eco-terrorist organizations have no clue, they are the trustafarians, and have never worked a day in there lives. If you looked at where there money comes from, it usually from "old" money that the families made and I'm sure that these days they wouldnt have it due to the works of these organizations. Just think if there had been a CBD back in the dino days we would have TREX running around and no oil for ouir cars. So my friends just support the right people and contact the BLM and you congresman and voice your concers.
  7. Word to the wise dont always rely on the Feds to be there for you. Just look for the all of the Firemen and Paramedics that are out there, chances you are camping next to them. Dont worry we will be there to help.
  8. Ok guys, I didnt realize that it was such a sore subject about puttting up some barrier tape to try an prevent dumb azz drunk idiots from running over kids. I'm with you that children need to be supervised and trust me mine are. I know that my camp started putting up the tape after time and time again rails, bike and quads came screaming into our camp even though we had a pretty tight circle and we thought it was obvious that it wasnt the highway through the middle of camp. After one close call with a drunk in a buggy we decided to do something since vehicle placement wasnt enough. What is the answer you might say? Some people say go to the little dunes or dont come out at all on the big weekends, those might work for some but not all. We as a group have to be more responsable for our actions and more cautious. Its not us that are on DDR that is the problem for the most part its the other guy. The other thing is if you camp near a finger and dont market it some way what is to prevent the drunk a$$ 16 y/o on there 250 from jumping into your camp. I know it sounds like a rant about alcohol but its not. If your going to drink just do it at camp and put the toys away. If you go out to comp at night enjoy but like in real life have a designated driver to get you back to camp. If you drink and drive?ride you deserve a DUI plain and simple, since most of our off road cars have more power than our street cars, you do the math. Ok and to the ranger that said that they havent doubled the passes, we paid 60 last year for a season pass and this year its going to be 120 or even worse 140 if you had a 90 plus the 5 holidays, looks like at least doubling the cost. ANd I wouldnt be afraid of some dumba$$ messing with me for ratting him out or helping a Ranger that needs help so sign me up for the DUNE PATROL. And lastly I think if we as a whole, those of us that care about the dunes and respect them did all fly some sort of flag be it the checkered of the ASA or something special to dumont it would let those that are ruining our dunes to watch out cause we are watching. OK off my soap box.
  9. I agree with most of the statements here just not about staking the finger dunes. To me this is the easy one if you dont want the risk of being impaled by rebar dont ride on the fingers on the big weekends its that simple. Im sorry but if you are riding that out of control and reckless what is going to happen when you run over a child. Sorry but I think the kids desirve a little more of a chance. Ok enough about that. The whole problem with trash is a big one till we can get it throught these azzhats heads that trash dosnt magicly disapear how about getting some dumpsters out there on the big weekends. I know there has been some problems at glamis with them overflowing at least we could have the trash in one central area for us that really care and pick up other peoples trash. I think we could talk with the vendors about pitching in for some dumpsters(put them by vendor row to draw in customers)and maybey even get some sponors help to cover the cost. There are enough big time companys that we could hit up. I also think the BLM should pitch in on that too. There is a local trash company in Pahrump that I'm sure would help out. Other than that just trying to get the LEO' s to crack down on the DUI's, MIP's and other alcohol related issues Im sure would help greatly. Ok time to climb down from my podium.
  10. The reason people rope things off are for saftey expecially on the big weekends. The little kids want to play on the sand just like the rest of us and what a better way then giving up a little bit of the finger for the future duners. If we as adults cant just go around we have a problem. The fingers arnt that great to ride anyway. Just a little give and take, quit being so selfish. As for Comp hill we dont want it to get like Glamis so we need to have a proactive approach. If it takes the LEO's cracking down on the a$$hats that are too dumb to realize you shouldnt drink and drive( or ride) then so be it. It used to be cool to go out to comp at night on the big weekends, it was kinda like a car show. We need to get our dunes back and if it takes the LEO's giving out DUIs, MIPs, and various other citations so be it. You have nothing to worry about unless you are the ones breaking the rules. They cant say that thet cant afford any more LEO's since the passes have doubled, they should be able to double the number of LEO's
  11. about time the rangers do something about the a$$hat litter bugs.
  12. That would solve so many problems on a national level. We as a nation have let orgonizations like the ACLU, CBD, and other trust fund fuled organizations go way to far. Take Nevada for instance what RAG DOLL was talking about the guy wanted to die on monday, he expected to die on monday, he didnt want to appeal it, but the ACLU stepped in and stopped it.
  13. Im sure the LEO's would come down harder on you for shooting some A$$HAT with an air soft then they did for the poor girl that lost her leg. This is where the LEO's need to acctually do some thing. They got more money now lets actually use it for good and not waist it on some mondane b.s. like more pit toilets or $100,00 rails for the LEO's to cruse around in.
  14. You ask where the 1 million a mile would come from, how about the impact fees that we are charged( we pay enough now), or even better lets take the fines that these LEO keep handing out and put it to some good use. Maybe if they would ticket the people that need it ie. the litter bugs and drunks that try to run you down in camp, it would get a point across and pave the road. Or what I think works the best, just let the road go pull up the port a pottys and pay station, and leave the area alone like it used to be. There is just way too much government in our sand dunes. On another note there are other things they can do other than pave the road, chip seal is an option it works ok just look at the roads in Pahrump and it is a lot cheaper, just gravel a road grader and some tar is all you need.
  15. I beg to differ we dont have less services than Baker. If you guys want you can fill up ath the main fire station with water they dont mind as long as you dont block the bays and let them get out. It is located at the north end of town just go through the two stop lights and you will see it on the left. The water that the dont mind people using is on the front of the west building. If you have any questions just ask them. You can also use the septic dump at Saddle west, it'll cost you $10 but its worth it if you need it. If you guys need anymore info on pahrump let me know. I live there.
  16. When is enough enough, this makes absolutly no sense. What is next building a giant ranger station. If they want more LEO out there then they really need to do there job by taking care of the reckless riders, the litter bugs, the DUI's not the dad giving his little kid a ride at a wopping 2 miles per hour. Give me a break I watched a LEO hassel this guy for over an hour for giving his kid a ride on his quad. That needs to be a parents right and responsability when it comes to dealing with ther childern not the LEO. Also they say the money goes back into the dunes. Where? I know those pit toilets and a road grader every now and then cant cost that much. I would rather see them get rid of the toilets, if you need one bring it like the rest of us, and how about some dumpsters, since some people think trash magically disappears. I guess Im just frustrated. What will the BLM do next, next year is it going to double, triple, what. If they want EMS out there then they need to train and equip them. Most of the ones we run into are barely first aid trained and have no equipment, how about the BLM contract to get real EMT's out there, since it takes nearly an hour to get any sort of help, but wait that would be a good use of money and for the BLM that would be a first.
  17. This just sonds like more BLM b.s. what is there to bother out there. Wake up people its the dessert it is deserted. More wasted money by the feds, trying to justify there jobs. When will all of this just stop.
