What lessons have you learned on owning toy haulers
Richard Cheese replied to Kitcat's topic in Toyhauler/ RV Talk
can you tow a toyhauler with a half ton? Yes are half tons built as well for the job as 3/4 tons and 1 tons and higher? no are gas motors as good as diesels for towing? no can a gas motor tow well? yes I towed for over a year an Attitude fk19 with a 10,000 lb gvwr with a chevy tahoe 4x4 with the 5.3 z-71 off-road suspension, better than the plush suspension suv ride for towing, imo it can be done, BUT you must stay within your capacities. fi youve never towed a toy hauler with a half ton, one that was within your specs at the time, then you have no business answering, right?? -
just a picture of the slice of society that we live in now.

BARBRA BOXER CLOSING MORE DESERT

no, NV residents do not sign this petition. She is a Ca senator (one that I have been voting against for the last few years) unfortunately, your sigs only make more time spent getting them off the petition -
when the smoking ban was put into place in CA, the same thing happened. Bar owers teamed up and defied the law Certain restaurants, that I stopped frequenting, still allowed patrons, mostly out of state truckers(usally the places with the best burgers!!!) to still smoke, etc etc however, after acouple of years, and the profits of the bars and restaurants staying the same, and even improving, 99% of all establishements now abide by the law there are still some seedy dive bars that people will smoke in, but I don't know which ones, as I wouldn't be going there, due to smoke, and with a family, ijust don't make it to the bar scene anymore...

ill have to kindly disagree with you on the shower thing bob. have you seen the newer walk-around bathrooms in the front bedroom toy haulers? 5th wheel size. I was in a Stellar 28 w/ a walk around bathroom, and I could literally put my arms straight out to the sides and turn around, and not hit anything. more than big enough, imo -
come on DF, I'm a teacher, remember????? go put your nose on the board j/k
-
ect ect ect.....WTF is that bob, the sound of your cat coughing up furballs???? etc etc etc like xtc.......

I see there are some people here that are complaining about paying fees, only to see a decline in the duning experience. Well, that is because 5 or 6 years ago, people like me never even heard of Dumont. Heck of several people I have talked to in my town, only a handful even recognized the name. we are experiencing growing pains, and the govt's answer to these is more money. don't be surprised if the fees go up again soon, as you can't KEEP dumont from gaining popularity, especially from people like the glamis crowd.

cool, i would be worried about the weight differences, as well as the difference in width, length and power. all of those are co-efficients in the decision for paddles too.
-
that is why I do my own stuff. I made a whip mount for my ranger using existing parts, and what I could pick up at the store

electric tongue jacks are the shizzle!!! gotta be patient when lighting the stove. 6 volts rock chincy bunk ladder isn't made for people over 250 lbs rust on chrome wheels comes off easy with CLR make surethe frame rail is out of the way BEFORE you drain the oil carry extra 12v bulbs at all times wash out your black tank dump hose when you are done!! -
:mischevious: thats the freekin liberal media for you...controversey sells... too bad you don't see them out there with the Friends of the Oceano Dunes, when they have their semi-annual trash pickup.

oh god, i hope people don't think I am arguing with them. if you thought that, I am sorry, and didn t mean to let it go that far I was just offering ideas.

well, a lot of mods are gonna have to be done, like cutting the fenders off on the front, but not too much so the floorboards ca stay. this is to allow for the bigger tires. the rear tires should work, though without the extenders, but, as the quad is tippy, extenders are needed

why not truck it to Baker? and if my figures were correct for thanksgiving, what about holloween, christmas, new years, president's day , easter, dumont cleanup, and the rest? If Turkey weekend comes up with a quarter of it alone, then 100 grand should be pretty easy to attain throughout the year by just adding 5 bucks, right???
-
do you have an e-mail address, or an address for snail mail for the trt???
-
I am post whoring to get my 300th post anyway, 150 dollars??? I was thinking like 25 bucks for a weeks use, and 75 bucks for an annual pass. think about all the trucks and other vehicles paying to get in. figure out of 20000 people there over thanksgiving, figure 4 per car, so 5000 tow vehicles @ 5 bucks that is 25,000 bucks just in one weekend!!!!!!! summer time won't apply as NOONE (but the freeking red bull riders, and the occasional early morning, late night warriors) rides in the heat. are you telling me it would cost over 100,000 bucks to do trash bins???? and as for leo's just for watching the trash, I didn't say that, I said place the bins by the ranger station so that they could easily be seen.
