  1. Dang Dog!!! He's moved on to more precise fab work, or has been doing the machine work all along. Can't be sure, but everything I've seen him fab has been nice. :smoker:
  2. I'll be there for Sunday's race....scored some last minute comps. I'm working now until 3pm...so hopefully I'll record and watch Sat's race later today. :bert:
  3. I was pulled over a couple of years ago by NHP and was warned that I needed a J endorsement due to my GVCWR (?) being over 10,000 lbs. I was travelling past the Tecopa turn off on Monday and two trailers in front of me made Tecopa turn-off. I go through Shoshone myself to dump in Pahrump. The Sheriff was waiting at the turn off and almost hit the second trailer trying to flip a quick u-turn to chase down the first. He went from sitting to throwing on the lights into full "Starsky and Hutch" mode. I was wondering what that was all about. Best I could figure is it was Tecopa and their usual griping about duners travelling through, so the harrassment must be starting up. I stopped going that way when I found a nice trailer park to dump in Pahrump.
  4. Nice thread! Mine are: 1. Time with friends and family....especially by the fire after the riding is done and the begins! :peeps: 2. Virgin sand...especially hearing the paddles "zip" 3. Seeing everyone happy and well. 4. No clocks and no work. 5. Riding with friends and family....that's one I like the most.
  5. I hear that! We might make it out for Pres day....it's still in the air. If we do it'll be the first big weekend for us this season.
  6. Great news....looking forward to seeing him at the dunes again!
  7. That's good news to hear he is feeling things now. Hang in there Grimace the family is keeping you in our prayers!
  8. It's been a tough road and I'm proud of you son. :angry2: It's nice to get back to normality (if that's even a word) and get your bike fixed up for ya. Jon didn't make it, but the family started back to regular dune trips this last weekend before Halloween. It was nice to get back out.
  9. How did I miss this! I must have done something right.
  10. No you'll need to take the axle nut off to slip off the tube assy far enough off to access the snap rings. Good luck. If you know of a good set of snap ring pliers that work with this I would appreciate some info. I have always found taking the snap rings off to be a challenge with my pliers. :bert:
  11. Nice Cole!!! Way to keep changing it up. Are you planning to put any protection in the passenger compartment? I see so many of these rangers with boocoo $$ spent on suspension, body panels to fit the new suspension, and even cages in the rear and front ends, but they still have the stock 3-point belts and nothing for roll protection in the cab. I have seen what an incompleted "Ford Ranger" can do to a person's life first hand (no pun intended): I know this chit ain't cheap , but to spend the $$ (what I see around town) on suspension and looks and nothing on passenger safety is concerning to me. It's almost a trend. I also want to be clear that I am not being negative....all of you are my friends and I just want to be sure you are aware of your personal safety. Keep us updated and a thread on the build would definitely be cool!
  12. I went from a fully loaded flatbed with a 1/2 ton(5.7 ltr) to a 25ft toyhauler with a 3/4 ton(6 ltr). I would be a little nervous if I was outside of my tow ratings, as chit happens and I wanna be damn sure I'm covered. I do have a friend that towed a 23ft Superlite with his 1/2 ton. Good luck withyour choice.
  13. I would have been disappointed if you didn't.
  14. Very nice. Makes me wanna finish mine. I just straightened the frame the other day. I think the black plastics have been sitting for almost 2 years now.
  15. :ah: That hurts just looking at it. Back in my two wheeler days (1970's) a cactus just like that went right through the top of my riding boot and into my foot. At least 10 needles got through and I had to remove the boot to get them out. All the gear in the world isn't always going to help.
  16. I don't think it could be stated any better than that.
  17. I'll have a drink or two, but I have to study for finals. Somehow I wondered in here and can't find my way out!!! :bert:
  18. Time has screamed by. I have no clue where the time has gone.
  19. Wow. It doesn't get anymore immature than that, or maybe that's how adults act in Barstow. I guess in my book a sharpie could affect your job. At least Richie is self employed.
  20. Same here.....and that's right across E Lake Mead from me!! :ah:
  21. Yes...and yes. It is nice to have him home again.
  22. I have had good luck with my 1835 with dual weber 40's for the last 3-4 seasons. I bought a couple of books and the synch...but the last time I paid a guy to tune it up at beetle barn...he said it was tit's as far as being synch'd. No need to mess with it until it really goes out of synch. It's been nice, strong and reliable, although I can't wait until I can upgrade to some more horsepower. It's been a great starter motor. I haven't heard of the 1935 either...but run what you bring and have fun doing it!!
  23. I was thinking the same dang thing.....
