  1. I had a set of these prior to getting into a bit more HP....loved them and DEFINITELY could tell the difference in acceleration. Held the side hills nicely, great duning tire. I priced a new set ....good lawd.
  2. it was a pic in that link I provided.....they don't do times...just who crosses the finish line first. Only instance where they would do times would be at a drag strip that is set up for times. That said, there were lots of radar guns out there and the top one reached 100mph...several in the 70's, 80's, and 90's for the top built cars. Some of the other recreational type cars were probably between 30 and 50, no one really put a radar on those.
  3. Here you go guys....the UTV underground link with the story, pics, and results. http://www.utvunderground.com/2015-sxs-wars-photos-results-23654.html

  5. here are some pics....most of these were taken in the morning time before the official racing started. I was staging the cars so I didnt' get to take many pics or vids.
  6. I posted a couple vids....some of it was during practice so there didn't look to be as many people but there were a lot of spectators for how empty the dunes were and a lot of the racers didn't show up until race day. I would say there was a good 30 cars that raced. The event took the entire day
  7. http://vid126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/oldman27/20150109_130946.mp4 http://vid126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/oldman27/20150109_103856.mp4 http://vid126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/oldman27/20150109_133310.mp4 King of the hill race K&T and PACE(Greg Biffle) they split the first 2 and K&T won the last one in this vid making them King of the Hill. Greg caught a perfect light on the 1 win he had against K&T. unlike the K&T cars, greg can dune the one he's in so it was a bit heavier. He said next time he will come out with one stripped down. His car was fast considering the weight. http://vid126.photobucket.com/albums/p117/oldman27/20150109_145854.mp4
  8. matt the organizer wasn't leaving Dumont until today, I left sunday since it looked like the rain wasn't going to stop. most of the vids and stuff posted were from the spectators at the races. I know UTV underground has a few things out...the event had a professional film crew there that will be posting a video once all the editing is done. They were putting go pro's on a lot of the cars in some pretty cool places like the roll cage looking in on the driver during the race, the suspension....the had them all over the place. Matt also had a personal film person that will be editing a vid. the event definitely had some growing pains with the brackets and just a steep learning curve with putting on an event like this. A lot I'm sure was learned, I know they already talked about trying to get one in glamis around march, greg biffle even offered to have the road back to the hill at glamis bulldozed smooth to get the equipment out there once cleared by BLM. I wish I had more official results but I do not...I do know that K&T, PACE, and API all had some fast cars as well as RPM, Boondocker, and a few others I'm forgetting. Kong was a bit slower than I had anticipated and I'm sure they will get it worked out. hopefully they get some good feedback from the racers, but all racers need to understand they can't have a bunch of classes just catered to them, they need to build for the set classes to keep the event going, otherwise it will be nothing but builders as your normal everyday joe cannot afford to build crazy stuff.
  9. ^^^^and then people wonder why places get shut down. I saw a situation like this over by bathroom 6 last weekend as well.
  10. ^^^ x2 and even with it being on a Friday it sounds like the turnout of racers is gonna be quite large....hearing if this one goes well there will be possible future events at dumont, glamis, smnv, and st Anthony.
  11. hmmm i was parked near bathroom 11....we were there from 2 jan thru 4 jan and didn't see anything
  12. I've hit one of these before and nearly wrecked....they are VERY dangerous and I wish people who build them would cover them back over when they are done. So sorry to hear about the injuries.
  13. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjWMx7SjzL8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=th0k8raKva0 might see these there
  14. Here's the FB page. https://www.facebook.com/events/548221478611720/
  15. no from my understanding, the one that was the weekend of the 23rd was moved up to the weekend of the 9th because BLM made a mistake and booked the SxS event on the same weekend as another event(I'm wondering what this other event is). So they were forced to move it. SxS wars will be on Friday and FSA will be on Saturday the weekend of the 9th now. This will be a huge weekend of racing with SxS's, Four stroke and 2 Stroke quads. If you've ever seen the Four Stroke races, it will be pretty much the same setup for the SxS wars as he will be using the equipment from Tom(FSA). Biggest bummer of it all is now they moved it close to New Years so peoples pockets may be a little thin to attend. The weekend of the 22nd imo would have been much better but BLM seems to have a knack for placing the dates of these types of races either the week before or the week after big weekends lately, surely doesn't help attendance but it seems a lot of sxs's have registered.
  16. cool man, I can meet you over at your shop tomorrow when I get off work or you can stop by here, doesn't matter. I work mids so I'm off work around 7 and usually up until noon ish.
  17. i think it was free last year...only free day was vets day i believe...which was a tuesday
  18. Local to Las Vegas only. All wheels are for Yamaha bolt patterns. I have some Mohawks for sale, Single buff on blue labels. Excellent shape, no leaks, dents, or dings. Was going to use these for another project or as a spare but I just don't see myself using them so I would hate for them to sit and dry out. I also have a set of Padla Brat 21-12-8 6 paddle comp cuts on douglas blue label 8x7 wheels. The paddles have some cuts and small chunks out of the paddles and one tire is plugged but they still hold air for a day. One of them will hold air for about a day and half or so (common for comp cut padla brats, I think new ones will hold for about 3 days). They still work great and for a stock to mild built yfz these things rock....weighing only a shade over 10lbs. That's a lot of rotational mass that your motor will not have to put up with. I would say you could get another season or two out of these. I will sell them for 110 for the pair. I may be out at Dumont this weekend (22 November only) if you are not from the Vegas area you could meet me there for pickup. Otherwise these are for local Vegas residents only.
  19. I noticed on my way out that non blm people it seemed had the exit blocked checking passes and it looked like a few people were sent to the ticket machine. I'm sure many got away with a free weekend.
  20. yeah I could hardly understand a bit of it...maybe that was their intention. would suck if they closed it though, I make 3-4 trips there a year.
