  1. :2gunsfiring: :skeet: Opinions are like a-holes, everybody has one! Some more than others.
  2. So PT's around 7 tonight? Is that the plan? :2gunsfiring: :skeet:
  3. We will be in St. Anthony's June 16th thru the 23rd. Staying at Sandhills. If your there we should do a ride
  4. I disagree with what you say sanddemon said. I do believe there will be restrictions but highly enforced is another question. We want to see the use of metal stakes banned and a reasonable amount of space saved. But how do you write a ticket to a camp of 15 rigs for being more than 15' or 10' (depending the rule) inside their caution tape? This was my point at the meeting. We don't need any more rules that can not be reasonably enforced. I think the LEO's have enough to do without being out enforcing a rule that they have to use a measuring tape to check. I for one will be against that happening. The golf cart/rhino issue is another story. Just like at Coral pink the parents tell the kid to lie about their age if they are actually younger than the law allows. I would rather see a helmet law than an age requirment. Maybe anyone younger than 18 would have to wear a helmet?
  5. Sorry didn't see the post until today. Yes it was brought up at the TRT meeting. We have a sub group looking at what we want to do about the roping off of areas. I think it would be hard to enforce putting up tape to save space until late Sat.(if people didn't show up). Even then we know how intrusive a visit from a ranger could/can be. I don't want new rules but it looks like we will get some. As for the metal stakes I am sure they will be bringing forth a new rule regarding steel/rebar type stakes. It is a hazard! When the subject was brought up I had a feeling that somebody must have called BLM on the carpet about it. I have seen stakes on the flats but not on the fingers. Usually they use cones but I am sure there are those people that put metal stakes in and cover them with a cone. I do believe saving space is an unenforceable rule and could be a reason for LEO intrusion to find other problems in camp IE: glass bottles, etc. For that reason i suggested that we consider just the stake problem for right now. I will post the trt minutes as soon as I get a link from the Sect. of the TRT. Thanks,
  6. Yeah the food was paid for by BLM with our fee demo funds. As for the t shirts, hats etc. They were all donated by a lot of great businesses who support Dumont Dunes. Please patronize them and let them know you saw their donation at the clean up! That includes the massive effort/expense that SU provided. They were our main t shirt sponser along with their business expense to get the truck(shade) and their people there! Cat did you sell any cars from that trip? Just curious.
  7. Never mind following a lady as I am a butt and legg man! Be glad to put together a ride next season. Unfortunatly I am done for this year! but it's been a great dune season for me!
  8. Cat, thanks for the trust. I will do everything I can to keep Dumont user friendly.
  9. Mines pretty good and has been in the last 3 rigs. You may want to look at an aculmator tank if you have room. It gives you better pressure and no surge. Other than that theirs always a bigger, quieter pump!
  10. It's a shame that you drag racing guys have to deal with such an a$$ at the track. Les is one of the most ignorant people I have ever had the displeasure to meet. I am a pretty easy going guy and this butthead got me fired up in a hurry. It's such a shame that someone of that caliber has such control on the race circut. Just my opinion but it is what it is.
  11. I have switched all my coaches to 6 volt systems right after I got them. The reason I started doing that was the first big motorhome I bought the batteries died the first weekend and I had to use the aux. coach batteries just to start the genset. Since then I always switch them out. Newer trailers and coaches have a lot of things that draw power all the time. This pulls the batteries down and the 12 volts just do not recover the way 6 volts do. I have never ever had a battery caused problem since then. As you increase the size and features of these RV's you will find this to be the case also. Just a fair warning Pete the house on wheels is a more complicated system than your other trailer used. Go in at night and see what is glowing/pulling on the batteries IE: stereos, computer driven sensors, electric controls for montier systems/remotes for a/c etc. If you can go to 4x6 volts you will be very happy but for years I had only 2 in a 40' Alfa fifth wheel with no problems. as with any battery you have to maintain them and check them regurlary espically if you keep them plugged into shore power all the time.
  12. Every other trip for me. Car and quads
  13. I have had that conversation with blm before. The law does not consider shower water to be sewage. What about outside showers and sink water for tent campers? They would have a hard time enforcing that one. As long as the grey water flows from the tank right away onto the ground and it does not have time to sit and grow bacteria it does not smell nor remotely appear like sewage. It has been one of those no ask no tell things at dumont. At Glamis it is anther story. I would estimate that this may change as useage at Dumont continues to grow.
  14. Didn't miss it just wondered why I at least didn't get an honorable mention! Pete will get a ride set up next season. I am done for the year unfortunatly.
  15. This has been debated for years as to wether you can dump grey tanks at Dumont or not. I have talked to rangers and looked at the web sites for BLM. It is illegal to dump a black tank but it is not illegal to distrubute grey water back onto the ground at Dumont. Fresh water is allowed to be dumped as Don would be right about the water trucks. As usual Nick has his opinion even if it is wrong. :yeah_whatever:
  16. That's ok Nick I know you didn't get your ride and now my car is on the ugly list. It's ok, but I have a long memory!
