  7. I agree with you Pete, I noticed that this thing weighs in at 1500+ lbs with a CVT and 154 HP. To much money and needed to go to a manual trans to stop the CVT power loss and belt headaches that all of these things seem to have. Not my cup of tea but I will say after sitting in a can-am and than the others I would much rather go on the lid in the Can Am, their beefy and therefore the weight issue.
  8. So your looking at putting a sand rail and basically 3 quads in the trailer that is rated at 7000 lbs. correct? Quads(raptors) come in a little lower than 400 lbs x 2 =800 lbs. The kids quad shouldn't weigh more than 200 but let's say 300 just for safety's sake. 800+300=1100 lbs. Unless the sand rail is a tank that leaves you 5900 lbs. The trailer I would guess weighs somewhere between 1500 and 3000 lbs. So depending on how much the sand rail weighs and how much crap you haul with it than I think you should be fine. But my guess is your towing with a 1/2 ton truck and that's why your dad feels sketchy? If so than the pull vehicle is more your problem than the trailer. BTW put the kids quad in the back of the pick up along with gas and firewood. I would from the info you have provided would say that a 3/4 ton truck would pull, stop and handle that load safely. Let us know if you have any other info.
  9. Yeah Ouray was a cool town, while we were on top of the Brewery we watched the thunderstorm move into the valley and open up. Got a few spots of rain in my beer but it was a great time:)
  10. Just got back from 10 days in SE Colorado. Hanging out at a beautiful campground, relaxing. Visited Ouray and hung out on the 3rd floor of the Ouray Brewery drinking fresh micro brew. Got a few rounds of golf in. Highs near 85 during the day and sweatshirt weather around the campfire. Perfect!!
  11. Is this still available?

I have some misc. hoses, plug wires, belts and assorted other small parts that someone building or wanting to keep spares of might need. I am wanting them out of my garage so if your interested let me know and make me an offer. Terry

  15. Doubt this will help but I have a complete Haltech computer and a gm harness that you can basically have just to get it out of mt garage. Chasing electrical gremlins are the worst!
  16. Yeah Ace it was a big deal for the twelve years that FoDD put the event on. But when the new BLM manager came in she decided she didn't need our help and didn't want to spend any BLM employees time or our fee demo money to provide lunch. Our turnouts used to range into the several hundred which is big for a small middle of BFE area. It took a lot of work but we all enjoyed putting the event on. Unfortunately times change and she took the fun right out of it. I still appreciate that users still want to go clean up Dumont but it's not ever going to be the same because they won't put the massive time into it that we did to make it a highlight of the year event.
  17. Not much can be done about this except to educate parents that the trenches need to be filled in. Will that happen, probably not and it has been an issue for years. Been in those a couple of times myself. i learned that when I hit the flats it's nice and slow all the way back to camp. This stops the dust and pit racers and really the dunes are the place for the throttle, not the flats. not saying anything negative about you but it has been the point we have tried to make through education and LEO contacts.
  18. I believe we came up with that cones were ok but no metal stakes were allowed to be used. So if the cones have a metal stake inside of them I would suggest a conversation with a ranger not the person with the cones. You can remind the LEO of the danger of a child or person riding by the cone/stake and having a get-off. Also metal stakes are no good for paddle tires. There was just no way to enforce the no cones and tape. To much other higher priority stuff on their plates
  19. Pete, also the amount of money left over each year for start-up costs has gone down dramatically. This is due to less use and I think more than a few who take their chances by not paying the fee. The grader will do both, save the fee demo money and make the road smoother for everybody. Thanks John for the pictures.
