I like to be on the I15 at 7:30 AM. i usually stop at Saxbys on seven Hills and get a coffee for the road -
Here is Randy's reply. He is all knowing of things Death Valley and has a web site and blog. His info should be helpful to you. Hi Terry, Sorry I was away from the office yesterday and couldn't reply. Although one could reach the Riggs site in 2WD, it would have to be something with high clearance. If he is going to rent a vehicle, I recommend it be an SUV. The biggest danger in driving would be a flat tire, but slow and easy would do it with reasonably good street or all terrain tires. So, it is not the 4WD that is necessary, but the higher clearance that comes with a 4WD. I can't imagine any sedan having the necessary clearance. I can tell him that the readers of my Death Valley Talk forum on DeathValley.com would love to read this story below. If he would repost this there, he may very well get a response from somebody willing to drive him out there. Here is the link to the forum: http://www.deathvalley.com/dvtalk/dvtalk.shtml There are other discussion board for Death Valley that he could find via Google. I hope this helps! Thanks for your email. Best, Randy

Yesterday while fighting the shifting mechanism on my new Rzr S after installing a UMP air filter I found that the shift lever would not go past neutral. After a lot of cussing and going to Lowe's for some thinner headed bolts it still wasn't working. So I decided to try to tweak the lever itself. It snapped like crystal as soon as I put a little pressure on it. Now normally this wouldn't be a big deal but we are leaving for the ca. UTV jamboree in Coleville Ca. So after trying to get a part (Like Ride now would have anything in stock) I made a cpl calls this morning and Rhino King "loaned " me the shifter shaft and Craig gave me some tech help. After trying several different ways to mount this b*tch so it would work i finally drilled a new hole about 1/2 " away from the pre drilled set up, stuck a new bolt and lock nut on it and Walla we are in gear! Again my many thanks to the folks who were there for me and offered parts and assistance and to Pete for having lots of phone numbers. DDR Rocks!! :cocktail: Terry

Steve, you might spend some time on rzr forums. They have lots of info on the S and XP plus they will make recommendations for a Calif. dealer. Lots of guys who went to the XP from the RZR S are not as happy as they thought they would be. Handling leaves something to be desired. There are some smoking deals on rzr s all over. I got a 2011 for 11K with less than 5 miles on it. I found it on rzr forums. There's a nice one on DDR with lots of extras for 12k asking price. I duned the S and it's a blast, haven't even touched the XP but I wasn't looking for speed nor the price tag so stayed with the S. I believe that the S will stay with a fast quad ride, but of course have a tough time with a fast car run. Not sure how the XP would do on that either due to the auto tranny and shortness of the car. Anyway take a look at the rzr forums and see what you can find. BTW I have a good contact at Carter's (GM) who will take good care of you if you want to try him, I will be glad to make a call. Terry

I am in

Well I may have spoke to soon. I looked in all the places it should be and have not found it yet. i will keep looking. It's pretty small so it could be anywhere in my garage. Thought I had it in the Rhino gear bags but have gone through them and cleaned out the rhino as i sold it yesterday(please delete ad) But I will continue to look around for it.
-
Pete, I bought a Garmin from Nick a cpl yrs back and have never really used it. if you want to look at it I will sell it to you cheap. I know Nick can show you how all the stuff works. It's an etrex. Let me know
-
Pat, it looks like the same floorplan as Pete's trailer
-
On the 2011 you don't have to cut anything to get the Odessey 925 in but you have to manufacture a hold in strap for it as the stocker is to short.
-
Bought this in October and used it for one season with an Odessy battery in it. I am now selling the Rhino and have replaced the Odessy with a stock Rhino battery. This Trail Armor box lists for $105.00 I would like to see $60.00 for it.
-
Ok, Rhino still for sale but at reduced price with the Bilstein shocks removed and replaced with stockers and a stock battery instead of the Oddessy 925.Price reduced to $6400.00 Firm well fairly firm. Call me at 702 596-8234 Terry

Nevada is a 70' length limit. You would have to check with DMV on the towing triples but in Ca. you are hit with several different rules. First your fifth wheel cannot be longer than 28' and the open trailer must be on a class 3 or whatever weight applies hitch. It must also have electric brakes and the whole rig cannot exceed 65'. I think you would need a special endorsement on your D/L if you are a ca. resident but as a Nevada resident ,again you have to check with NV DMV. I know I am over length by just a bit bit have never been stopped or even looked at. Best info I can tell you is if your going to Dumont either go through Baker or Pahrump. Do not go through Tecopa. They don't like big rigs and have been known to have stings on big weekends that can be a real hassle for you.

Funny, the Green Valley ranch Billboard says your going to be there on Sunday?

Anybody for a beer@ pts tonight? I can b there about 9:30 anybody in?

Jeez, Pete getting a little impatient huh? #1) The fence will start around by the mine and work around the salt creek mountains. Then will also start by the TTR railroad and be used to keep people from going out to the little dunes out past the north pole. I have a map somewhere and will put it up as soon as I can find it. #2) Right now the BLM is overwhelmed by this WEMO route signing project that they are required to have finished fairly soon. The wash is a ongoing project but it will take a long time to finish it and keep people in line out there. #3)Meeting on Sat JULY 9TH @ 10;00 am IN bARSTOW. #4)Those remarks on the DAC work sheet are for any possibilities of getting our message out and how we can do it. One of the focuses is that we (FODD) need to get our site up and running in conjunction with DDR. We know that you and your site have been a huge benefit in the evolution of the relationships surrounding Dumont. Does that help?
-
Four Wheel Parts on Decatur, they are a sponsor for the FODD clean up and do great work. Last set of BFG's I bought I shopped everybody and they were the best price and service. Talk to Alex and tell him thanks for the donation's to the clean up. Terry
