  1. Our schedule has changed for the better, be arriving thursday mid afternoon, Yiah HOOO!
  2. I am currently with US Bank and called them about refinancing with them, they said their current rates were about 8% so even though I have a great rate now I am saving 3 years and $300.00 per month on the new loan. If I pay my existing pymt it will just pay off faster. Terry
  3. If you are a costco member the rate is 4.4% Good sam member it's 4.49% here is the Loan Officer i have been dealing with's e-mail. Let her know I referred you and she said she will give you extra special service which she already supplied. If you don't belong to costco it would be worth the $35.00 membership fee in my opinion. her e mail is; dwhite@essexcredit.com Good luck, Terry
  4. Not trying to hurt johnny walkers but did you get 4.4%?
  5. I will check into that but it was discussed in a sub group meeting that the pass is the person's not the vehicles. So not to worry there. I have never been asked to see the back of my pass. It is taped in the corner of the M/H front window and they just check the color and waive me through. They may check camps but usually it's a drive by and they look for them in the window bt the real enforcement is at the outgoing gate. There were a couple changes to the pass to prevent conterfiting, that may be what your looking at. Terry
  6. The route through Sperry Wash is not and will not be closed per The Wild and Scenic river bill recently passed by Congress and signed by the President. The area that's always been closed is the area to the right of the mines and Tecopa is to the left. It has always been illegal to take OHV's(Unlicensed) down the county road to the date ranch road. However Sperrry wash is having some post and cable work done to keep people out of restricted areas that they have repeatedly intruded into. Terry
  7. Let's not let this blow up like a big balloon I am trying to find out what's going on with BLM, they have been in budget meetings all week. I will update as soon as can. Terry
  8. Pat, I will be pulling in Friday afternoon hopefully by 3 or so. Be at our usual #9 spot. Wait till you see the "new"addition to my trailer. Long story but we will talk about it there. Terry
  9. Sperry Wash is plenty big enough for you to travel it in the sammie. However you should be aware that the owner of the China Date ranch is an avid GREENIE and does not support the dunes in any way other than to make money off of. I would ask that you boycott this place and just enjoy the Sperry wash trail. Please stay on the designated route, as this a "Hot Spot" for the area eco-terroists to post and cable so it will look more like a guided tour than an off-road trail. thanks for your understanding. Terry
  10. It was not discussed at the last sub group meeting so unless i can find out before hand i would consider it a regular pay to play weekend. I will see what I can find out. Terry
  11. Just a note to let people know that Essex Credit through Costco are refinancing RV's and boats. Terms are very good and costs if you are a costco member are less than $200.00. Just go online to Costco.com and clink on the finances link. Saving money on interest is always a good thing!!:cocktail:

    Need your HELP

Ok Pete those things are done and the short version is added to the top of the post. Thanks for the help. Terry
  13. I know that not all of us on here ride in this area or have ever heard of it. However the Greenies are pushing Washington DC very hard to close off the whole area over the protests of the local residents who ride and have businesses near by that depend on area vistors. Please take a minute and read through it andc make some phone calls or e mails to your Congressmena nd Senators who are all listed at the end of this e-mail. The more they close the more they want. We have to draw a line and their is a lot of support to keep this area open but no one is telling Washington that they want it to remain open, just the greenies lobbist telling them that we do. Please take a minute and help even if you don't live in NV. Still contact your states Representitives and let them you ARE NOT in support of this closeure!! You can skip thru the main post and just go to the lower section and send an e-mail to each of the listed Nevada congressional representitives just stating your opinion that you don't want the area closed to a "Wilderness designation" If you are from out of the state of Nevada you can also contact your states congressional delegation and tell them you do not want this area of Nevada called Gold Butte closed and designated a Wilderness area. Thanks; From: UT AZ ATV Club [mailto:utazatvclub@yahoo.com] Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2011 10:04 AM To: undisclosed recipients: Subject: FW: Gold Butte From: picorg@mvdsl.com To: picorg@mvdsl.com Subject: Gold Butte Date: Mon, 3 Oct 2011 02:53:03 -0700 Hi Everyone, I realize this is probably the last thing you want to hear and it is the last thing that I actually want to ask, but it is terribly important for you to take about 10 minutes and either email or call our federal (and state) representatives. They definitely need to hear your opinion and comments, especially if you are NOT in favor of almost 350,000 acres of Gold Butte public land being designated as an NCA and wilderness. We have been told that literally every day a different group stops by Senator Heller's office and tells him that Gold Butte needs more protection. Our representatives are getting record numbers of people who want an NCA and wilderness; they absolutely MUST hear from those that don't think such designation is needed; most of our representatives are not willing to advance such legislation this year, but if they can't say 'substantial people living in the area do NOT want an NCA or wilderness in Gold Butte'---if they can't say that, it will become politically impossible for them to hold back the tide of those who want such designation. PLEASE, PLEASE---we must flood their offices in the next 2 weeks so we can give them a reason to not move forward with a public lands bill for Gold Butte this year. I know it gets old—this is the fourth year we have had to fight such designations---but please look on the bright side---we are fighting this battle for the fourth year because we 'won' the last 3 years. Gold Butte has not had additional restrictions and designations because we have all voiced our opinion loud and clear for the last 3 years. Please do it again, so we can hold the line this year also. The phone calls or emails do not have to be long. You can simply give your name, where you live and state your opinion. If you do not want Gold Butte to receive additional restrictions and designations such as an NCA and wilderness---simply and plainly say so—so that there is no misunderstanding of what you said. You can politely ask the receptionist to repeat your comments; next request that the senator/congressman be given your comments. Feel free to provide details if you wish; I have copied some below; delete them, use them, modify them to suit your own beliefs, whatever works for you. Below the suggestions of additional comments, is the contact info for each of the federal representatives. Below that is my contact info. Please feel free to call or email me if you have any questions, want more information, or just want to talk about this subject---please don't hesitate to contact me for any reason. Also, this year the other side is busy making a list of businesses that support an NCA and wilderness in Gold Butte. They have 30 different businesses signed up so far. Please consider adding your businesses name to the 'I don't support an NCA or wilderness in Gold Butte list'; just email me your business name and your name and I am working on developing a list; it needs to be a published list to have validity, so please consider that before you email me. Thanks, again for this. Finally, please, please spread the word; I am sending this email to well over 100 people; if 100 people would call or email and then ask just 5 other people to do the same, we would have 500 individual comments from voters/residents who live right here; 500 individual comments would catch everyone's attention and REALLY help us fend off restrictive designations for at least another year. Please ask at least 5 other people to also write in and feel free to forward this to anyone. If you want to read a great summary of what has been going on at Gold Butte and if you want to see some excellent photographs of the area, please visit savegoldbutte.com . I highly recommend this superb blog by a local who visits Gold Butte often and wants to be able to take his kids to those special spots he grew up enjoying. Thanks for your time, attention, and help on this—again, we are at a very critical time; the 'other side' is making their strongest push yet; our elected officials need to see that we don't want wilderness or NCAs; and the only way a congressman will know—is if you tell him. Thanks so much, Elise Additional comments: The Record clearly shows that an NCA designation is for politics and not the peoples or lands benefit. Gold Butte and its resources are protected, people have access to them and it's taken care of on a community level. What more could you ask for. The BLM was created to manage public lands, let them do it. Bureaucratic designations passed down from Washington circumvent the very process and procedures they created to handle these situations. The biggest threat to Gold Butte is the special interest groups who seek to abuse and circumvent the system. -------------------------------------- An NCA doesn't give back to the community and it doesn't enhance its protection. It's politics. For these reasons I oppose an NCA and more wilderness for Gold Butte -------------------------------------- People need a place where they can recreate responsibly while the cultural and natural resources are managed and protected. Gold Butte's current status allows this to happen. ---------------------------------------- THE ECONOMIC COSTS OF WILDERNESS Brian C. Steed, Ryan M. Yonk, and Randy Simmons, Utah State University Local officials frequently complain that Wilderness harms local economies by limiting the opportunities for economic development. The State of Utah, for instance, recently passed House Joint Resolution 10 which requested that the U.S. Congress not designate any additional Wilderness in Utah . Through a vote by a supermajority of members, the state legislature asserted that Wilderness' limitation of multiple uses causes substantial economic hardship for the state. Table 1: The Economic Impact of Wilderness Measure of Economic Condition Economic Impact Average Household Income $-1446.06 Total Payroll $-37,500.00 County Tax Receipts $-92,910.00 These results indicate that Wilderness impacts both households and counties. Average household income within Wilderness Counties is estimated to be $1,446.06 less than Non-Wilderness Counties. Total payroll in Wilderness Counties is also estimated to be $37,500 less than in Non-Wilderness Counties. County Tax Receipts in Wilderness Counties is estimated to be $92,910 dollars less than in Non-Wilderness Counties. -------------------------------------- Value of visiting our historical and cultural sites: Our shared history of ranching, mining, and farming as the dominant economic forces in the late 1800s and early 1900s is scattered across the Gold Butte landscape; as important as it is for native Americans to visit their cultural sites where their ancestors camped, lived, and hunted, so to is it important for us to visit where our ancestors worked, lived, and spent their lives. (Noting a favorite site would be a great personal statement.) ------------------------------------- Value of gathering together: As groups or organizations of people that like to do the same recreational activities (be it star gazing or riding ATVs) and as large rural groups of people who gather together for church or family celebrations, the ability to enjoy our public land does not end with small groups of 10 or 12. Most NCAs and wilderness areas are managed for groups of less than 12; this eliminates our value of gathering together on our public lands in larger groups. (Noting occasions where you have been in Gold Butte with a group bigger than 12 would be a great statement to make.) --------------------------------- Value of enhancing and improving habitat: Historically, the few water sources in the area were enhanced and diligently maintained by our ancestors; water for wildlife and native habitat also provided water for ranching, farming, mining, and living. Ensuring that those water sources provided continual water for all was of great importance historically, as it is today. Improving wildlife and habitat, enhancing what exists in nature for the betterment of wildlife, plants, and therefore people, is an incredibly important value that needs to be protected and allowed to continue. (a note about quail hunting near a water tank or of viewing rabbits as they come in to drink—a personal example would be a great statement to support this value.) ---------------------------------------- GOLD BUTTE IS TOO CONTROVERSIAL, TOO IMPORTANT, TOO BIG OF AN AREA TO NOT HAVE A SERIES OF PUBLIC MEETINGS TO DISCUSS SPECIFIC ISSUES. ---------------------------------------- One of their arguments this year is that an NCA designation will improve the local community's economy; multiple studies show (see attached for just a brief list) that developing any recreational niche and then promoting that, will improve a local economy. 14. Thanks Guys! It's just another day in the life and one day closer to the season, But I appreciate the birthday wishes. Terry
  15. Congrats on the sand dunes wedding, what a great idea! Hope your getting married at 3 PM and not 3 AM as I camp by #9 also and I would hate for it to be a shotgun wedding LOL Again congrats and good luck! Terry
  16. I have a bin behind my seat that apparently could be used for an ice chest but I keep my strap, and a tool pack that I had purchesed when I was riding harley's that is meant to store in a bagger. It rolls up and has most everything in it. I keep a pr. of glasses so I can see what I am screwing up, a few rags and zip ties and of course some duct tape.
  17. Nice run David! I see you found a nice hole with the left front towards the end, those surprises always hurt just a little. Thanks for ramping up my duning desire. I had it somewhat under control until I watched this video
  18. Paul, it was for a couple of reasons. First the other one was starting to leak and had what appearred to have been sandblasted and wasn't flowing. Second with the way we had to mount the intercooler it made the mounting of the new one a cleaner install. But since that was done I have had no problems with the radiator or pretty much anything else for a while which has been nice:)
  19. I have had nothing but good luck with Pickerts. But he told me up front that Ron Davis Radiators(which was what I had) were junk from the begining. He patched me up enough to finish the season but then ended up buying a Howe Radiator out of Minn. That was a good radiator but when I added the intercooler we had to go to a different one. I don't even know the brand. CBM got it out f So.-Cal and it's working fine Knock on wood!
  20. Glad you guys had the time of your lives. Seems like there's one vacation you will always remember and this might have been it for you guys:) Ours was a week in Grand Caymen in 1994. Hardest thing is coming back to real life afterwwards. Enjoyed the pictures. Terry
  21. Well now we have to wait and see if CBD files a lawsuit or let's it go. It's always something with these bastards :clown:
  22. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service News Release October 3, 2011 Contact: Lois Grunwald, 805/644-1766, ext 332 SERVICE DETERMINES MOJAVE FRINGE-TOED LIZARD DOES NOT WARRANT PROTECTION UNDER THE ENDANGERED SPECIES ACT The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) announced today that it has completed a status review of the Amargosa River population of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard (Uma scoparia) and concluded based on genetic evidence that the population is not a distinct and separate population of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard and as such cannot be considered for listing as a threatened or endangered species under the Endangered Species Act (ESA). The Service made this finding after a thorough review of all the available scientific and commercial information on the species. In May 2006, the Center for Biological Diversity and a private citizen petitioned the Service to list the Amargosa River population as a distinct population segment (DPS) under the ESA. In January 2008, the Service published a 90-day finding that concluded that the petition contained substantial information to indicate that listing may be warranted. In the 12-month finding, the Service concluded the Amargosa population does not constitute a DPS. A DPS is a subgroup of a vertebrate species that is discrete from other populations and significant in relation to the entire species. The ESA provides for listing species, subspecies, or distinct population segments of vertebrate species. The Service asks anyone with new information regarding the status and threats to the Amargosa River population and the species overall to submit it to the Service. This information will help the Service monitor and encourage the ongoing management of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard. The population of Mojave fringe-toed lizards that resides near the Amargosa River occurs at several dune complexes on Bureau of Land Management land about 30 miles north of the city of Baker. The lizard also occurs at Ibex Dunes, which is within Death Valley National Park. The Mojave fringe-toed lizard species is native to southern California deserts and a small area of western Arizona. It is widespread geographically across this region in Inyo, San Bernardino, Los Angeles, and Riverside counties. In Arizona, the species occurs in La Paz County. The Mojave fringe-toed lizard species is not listed as threatened or endangered under the ESA. The Mojave fringe-toed lizard is in the family of North American spiny lizards. It is distinguished from other fringe-toed lizards by crescent-shaped markings on the sides of its throat and a conspicuous dark black spot on the sides of its belly. The lizards are believed to live out their entire lives in sand dunes or other sandy areas. During breeding periods, the bellies of the adults are yellow-green and their sides are pink. At other times, the lizards’ color mimics the sand dunes, rendering them nearly invisible to predators. The lizard feeds on insects, seeds and flowers. Annual plant species provide important forage in the spring. It derives most of its water from eating insects and plants. An advance copy of the 12-month finding can be viewed online today at the Federal Register Public Inspection Page. <http://www.ofr.gov/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1> When the finding publishes in the Federal Register on October 4, it will be available at http://www.fws.gov/ventura or at http://www.regulations.gov. For further information about the Amargosa population of the Mojave fringe-toed lizard and this finding contact: Michael McCrary, Listing and Recovery Coordinator, Ventura Fish and Wildlife Office by mail at 2493 Portola Road, Suite B, Ventura, CA 92003 or by calling 805-644-1766. 23. Anyone want to go to this meeting and need a ride?
  24. There has never been that kind of service at dumont that I know of. The closest spot to dump out is Tecopa if your headed to Vegas or Baker if your headed back to the I15
  25. No shower but we do park fairly close to crapper #9 so it's a short jaunt when you gotta go.
