Not going to happen this year, just don't have time to get it together along with everything else. But I heard we might be able to get some lunch for the volunteers:)

Set it up and I will be glad to help clean up trash. Actually with the help that each of us try to do when we are out there the dunes for the most part are not as bad as they used to be. The clean up in March used to get 2x 40 yard dumpsters packed. Last 2 have been 1 and a half. Not saying it's good that theres less trash just that some people are beginning to see the light and help keep it clean during the season. I know at Glamis they have several small clean ups during the year. I think an informal clean up should happen each time we go to the dunes. if anybody wants to pick up a bag of trash at the poker run and take it home with them it would show BLM what good duners do to keep the place open.

Maybe they could split that stop since they have businesses to run also, your thoughts?

Right now you should be able to buy a used WW for about 3k back of book. Be careful of the fifth wheel as the last cpl yrs of manufacturing they had some design/engineering problems and the front area is somewhat weak and may cause a lot of problems.

Not trying to "crap" on anything but if you make the 40 mile drive to Dumont from Pahrump don't you think you would have liked to know that it is a Fee Area and that fee for this weekend will be $40.00 Just thought they should have included it in the story. Most peeps don't like surprises.

Maybe they should have mentioned that it will cost them $40.00 to get to the haunted house plus the entry fee?

Won't argue with you on that Pat! That was what was supposed to happen the first time around but didn't. that story is best told over a beer and a campfire. Anyway i believe we will just have to deal with what we have now and some grading to fill in the rough spots. Remember it is a desert road not a super highway. I get frustrated with it but remember back in the day when it pretty much required 4X$ to get into the dunes. So with that it is better than it was! Terry

James, fee is $30.00 for a week. The 14th is the 2nd annual poker run. You and your daughter should come over and join up $20.00 per hand or $50.00 for 3 hands. There was some conversation regarding the 35k to move grindings but ca. DOT decided to put them over at Rasor road even though the University didn't want the road paved. DOT did it anyway. So right now we are on hold for any grindings and just have to deal with what we have. I passed a M/H on 127 coming from baker last Friday, this thing had stuff banging around and waving around so I passed him to make sure nothing fell off and hit my coach. Then I got to the entrance road and was doing 10 MPH to try to keep everything in the cabinets and this M/H and trailer passes me on the dirt road doing about 40MPH, no wonder everything was hanging on by a thread! Just take your time it's not a race the dunes will still be there 10 minutes later.

sent this to blm today, here is my question and their answer under it. It is a BLM road by the way. I know there were plans to grade the road before next weekend but after hearing complaints and after driving it this weekend It is going to take a lot of work to get that road to a "B" as it is probably in the worst shape I have seen it in for the last 10 years.It's going to be at leat least a cpl days of grading maybe more to get somewhat smoother. At 10 MPH I still have to go back to the dentist to get my fillings redone. It's pretty rough and wash board the whole way. Terry Thanks Terry. We just had our grader repaired and delivered. Talkedto Danzio today. My plan is to leave here Thursday afternoon and be in Lake Elisinore to spend the night, pick up the car at 9AM and change the tires and in the trailer she goes. Then it's back up the hill to Dumont. Hope to be there by 1-2 on friday. Should be camped a little N/E of crapper #9 Let's ride!! . I am even bringing my old Banshee to spend some time on, I haven't been on it in 4 years so it will be easy rides with my grandson, no fast rides for me for awhile, ok maybe in an hour or so
