So my shop is basically a week away from opening and I am having a hard time finding people who want a job, that doesn't make sense to me. Looking for outgoing personable motivated employees who want to have some fun, make new friends and be proud to serve the best products available. Great customer skills are necessary! Store opens on December 20th and training starts on the 17th of December. Please forward your resume to me at; terryallen@saxbyscoffeeworldwide.com or call me to set up an interview at 702 596-8234 Any help out there? Terry

you can get buy with the Honda E2000 if you don't use the a/c. If you camp in hot spots you need the 3000. 2000 are about half the price and are a lot easier to manuver.

Could this mark the end of Dumont entrance fees?

Thanks Pete, it makes it all worthwhile when I see that Vicki and I don't have to run to the defense on all these posts as more people see the light and respond with us! Makes me feel good that some people are getting the message! -

Could this mark the end of Dumont entrance fees?

Ok, guess I will have to offer up my 2 cents, First of all if you attended the meetings you would see that the BLM does account for their spending. Every year they must provide us (TRT) with their operating costs and budget forecasts. The TRT then is able to request documentation on those costs. Could the BLM be forging the numbers and us not see it, yeah they could but you have to remember these are goverment employees in a medium sized office and everyone in the office would have to be "onboard" for it to work, even the law enforcement guys. I personally think that is a pretty far stretch even for the conspiciary guys. The total vistors to Dumont is placed at 120,000 per year and I believe the figure they use to calculate people is 3.5 per vehicle that has to buy a tag. If you do the ruff numbers and DON'T count season pass buyers it looks like this 120,000 divided by 3.5 = 34285.7 tags. x $30.00 = $1,028,571. Ok not a bad # but if you take out the season pass holders and the people who have more than the 3.5 average in their RV you see the #'s drop quickly. Now if you look at the "click here" that Pete posted you will see that the numbers don't even out as far as cost vs. exoense. Take out any Congressional monies and green sticker money and you will see why the fees were raised. I am very proud of what the BLM and the TRT have accomplished, you see no improvements? Less to no dust on the road that is maintained(imagine that road with the traffic it has on it now vs. 10 years ago. You would need a 4x4 just to get in. Let's see, the 12 toilets that have to be maintained/pumped/painted to remove graffiti and repaired from damage because some people have no respect. The fact that you have 2 volunteers there on site to assist during the week when the rangers are on duty but not neccassarly at Dumont. They get paid a small stipend to live in the middle of nowhere to make sure YOU have access to emergency services if you need them. The bridge went to 3 lanes instead of due to user fees, no more traffic jams on busy weekends. Larger EMT and LEO prescence on all weekends than ever before because the amount of users is up and therefore safety and law enforcement are needed to keep the uneducated and uncaring people from harming themselves, others and property. I am tired of the whining about the fees, you pay more to sit in a bar and drink 6 dollar beers and gamble quarters than a whole season pass costs and you complain? Tell me another sport/place that you can have access to 365 days a year for $120.00? Hell a round of golf in Vegas is $200.00 and a ski pass is close to $100.00 per DAY, that's not 3.5 people sking that's one person. I believe that in the whole scheme of things that it is not unreasonable, Granted I have always believed that we should not be double taxes and I pay way more than my fair share but again it is a small price to pay for such a place, again that's just my opinion but I am proud of it. -

BLM Barstow Field Office 2601 Barstow Road Barstow, CA 92311 Attn: Larry I would send them registered return mail and a cashiers check, personal check or money order for the difference. Just don't send them a bad check, It's not nice to screw the Goverment!

I drove one across the flats at Dumont over the hallloween weekend. The response on the throttle is completely different than the carb'd Rhino. Very quick and responsive. Because it's narrow it seemed a little unstable making high speed turns without getting the backend to slide. The passenger and driver space is very large for such a small vehicle. I thought that it was a harsh ride on the flats with some small bumps but the owner told me that it smooths out in the sand. Over all my impression was that if your going to dune it you need to widen it out to make it more stable and then it ruins it for trails as it makes it wider. So it kind of defeats the 50" width purpose that it was built for. If you want quick throttle response I would say it is definetly the one to have, but it is still a Polaris and that scares me away. I like my Rhino better, maybe I am biased but so what?

EMS Staffing for Thanksgiving weekend
ynot replied to AnOnYmOuS1's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
In response to your initial comment I inquired to my contact at BLM and below is the response I was sent. So if your "contact" is a vendor or somebody who works for BLM and felt slighted on the overtime this might not be as good of a source as you think. Second, your post caused no problem and I am glad to see questions brought up and that we can get real answers for those that ask. Here's part of the response that concerned the EMT coverage over Thanksgiving; Terry, We had medical staff at Dumont this weekend, same as for all major holiday weekends. The fire crew is very well trained, in my opinion, and they are the lead for the medicals. If this is a vendor at the dunes posting, then this may have started with some internal grumblings because certain staff had less overtime to work this weekend than they desired. Basically we staffed up at the peak use time, and staffed down at the slower times. This lets us manage our budget better than having everyone there from Wenesday through Sunday. So, since there are less medicals on Sunday when people are leaving, we would have less medical staff on Sunday than on Saturday. So, some people did not get overtime for Sunday, and in frustration, someone did tell some of the vendors. That should not have happened, but its hard to control whining. -
Exploring is a wonderful thing but PLEASE do not cross into the out of bounds areas. This is being used against us and we need all the help we can get to keep these people from gathering enough incursion evidence to get some kind of legal action moving. I also remember the days when you could actually find railroad ties and other things from the pass but unfortunatly those days are pretty much gone. Please keep on marked OPEN trails it is very important! Terry

Sounds like you have it covered! Is it your car or his? I guess you can start taking things away from him but then that interferes with his school. The military will straighten him out if he lives that long.

In order to better align the rules of both Glamis and Dumont it is now illegal to dump your grey tanks at Dumont as it is now illegal to burn pallets at Glamis.
