  1. Doesn't look like I am going to make it for the "opener" Still waiting on new fuel lines and they won't be here till after the trip. If I get lucky I would try at least a day trip . we shall see?
  2. I would be willing to bet that would be Dr. Zamboni? He is great guy and a fantastic surgeon. Best wishes for a speedy recovery
  3. This works very well and is 20.00 http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/...ll-finder/32410

  5. Grant money cannot be used for anything other than for which it was asked for and approved for. I.E. Law enforcement grants were not given out and that is our biggest expense. As far as the pads I also thought they are a little overkill but in order to get people to take the O/T and the duty I guess they have to have a couple "special" items. I believe in the long run it will organize the LEO/BLM area but I am not saying it was money well spent. If we get Law Enforcement grants and maint. grants we could look at the #'s and see if we can reduce the fees. But keep in mind we only came up with $14,000.00 over the expenses for last season. That's cutting it pretty close. If user traffic is down due to slowdowns in the ecomomy it will still cost pretty much the same to run Dumont but with less income from pass sales. It is pretty much a wait and see item at this point. But Pete is right about people showing up to these meetings and letting their voices be heard.
  6. Pete, thanks for the pat on the back it is mucho appreciated. I have learned that I can make the drive better in 2 ways, either get someone to ride down with or if not turn up the Sirius Radio and play my geezer rock loud the whole way. However if I take Bbbbbert with me I don't have to talk much as he does all that for me
  7. Poker runs in the desert are a little different but the premise is the same. Here's the way we are planning this one. You register at the start and get your first card, then you have until 2:00 PM to go to the other 4 checkpoints located around the edge of the dune system. There you will draw your next card and have the oppurtunity to talk to and listen about each of the highlights of that particluar area. There will be on hand BLM employees and several other experts in the fields of archeology and maybe Dr. Presch who is involved in the study of Lizards and reptiles that habitat the area. (He's on our side). When you have 5 cards you bring them back to the starting spot and we take a look at what you have. Top 3 hands win! The checkpoints are accessible by any off road vehicle and although it might be a long ride for the little ones on 80's etc it could be done. The ride is basically to show everybody where the boundry's lie and the reason it is so important to respect them. This route will take you completely around the big dunes and you can ride straight thru or dune your way. All checkpoints will be easy to find. Finally if any of you wish to donate a little time please contact sincityblondie with your name and what times bwtween say 8AM to 4PM you would be available to help out in registration or at one of the checkpoints. Thanks to all! It's gonna be FUN!
  8. After looking at the information coming our way about the Fringed Toe Lizard we decided that we as a group of Duners need to get some education out to and available to users of Dumont Dunes. Therefore Friends of Dumont Dunes and DumontDuneRiders.com have come up with a way to get a little information out to you and have fun at the same time. Here is the flyer that Pete came up with and we will be getting these out to shops etc. This is not a RACE it is an infomational fun ride with plenty of time to dune to the 4 stations which will be situated around the dune area. The top 3 hands will win a % of the total dollar amount of the entries. Entry fees are $20.00 for the first hand and $10.00 for each additional one per person. or 5 hands for $50.00 All money goes to FoDD to help with the Fringed Toe Lizard issue.
  9. Are you talking about the wire that plugs into the truck or the other end that comes out of the trailer? If it's out of the truck that should be pretty simple but if your talking about the harness from the inside of the trailer out to the truck then I think you have a bigger problem. If the wires broke off inside you may not be able to trace them without getting very involved. this is one of the times I would say call Ken at Johhny walkers on Flamingo and Boulder Hwy and see if he can get you in before your trip.

  17. Pete, thanks for posting this up. Due to some unusual circumstances Vicki nor I will be able to put in time at the show. We really could use some members of not only FoDD but this site to help educate people about the Fringe Toe'd Lizard issue. We are going to need all Duners help on this. There will also be a suprise event that you can tell people coming through that will be lots of fun. Any time you can donate would be greatly appreciated! The event will be announced shortly.

Nick, if your putting less than 20% down or it's a FHA loan then your impound account MUST be included in your payment. The mortgage company will set it up for you at the escrow company but you get to shop for the company and agent. The impound account will accomadate the property tax, insurance and mortgage insurance PMI/MIP. Try calling Gary not because he is my brother but he really saved me a lot of $$ and there service is excellent. If you have any other questions on your mortgage please feel free to call me I have 20 years in it.
