  1. biggest i've seen too. caught a couple when i was a teen, but they were half that size at best. got bit by a black widow when i was younger.. twice. put me in the hospital both times. hate them effers.
  2. instead of moaning about trendy people, why don't you just run them over or something? don't let the consequences scare you, they're not all that bad. =) i kid. the consequences suckass.
  3. one of the flaggers got runned-over and the organizer got sued.
  4. heh.. they pissed me off something fierce my first purchase/time in there. later effers.
  5. depending on how much you'd like to spend, get a cheetah top end. my 4mil cheetah pv makes 100wh on gas. since you don't already have the cool-head, vforce reeds, and crank yet i'd get a pv cheetah instead of a cub.
  6. got there wednesday night. went to a camp a couple of my buddies were at but there were way out in the rocks, so i didn't even unload. went to sleep about 9pm, fireworks and stuff woke me momentarily. left their camp at 7am, found a new site with some sand! and waited for raptoroy. took the shee's to the hill. played guitar hero. waited for my buddy rudy and my quad he brought out (i can only fit three quads and the rhino.) got some good dunin' in on the raptor, the suzuki, and the shee. pete can lead an awesome dune ride. whipped some butt at the banshee hill. aaron has a fast drag bike, for sale too wtf? roy's hill raptor will own next weekend at FSA in glamis. i rolled the pink shee on banshee hill. the rhino had issues all weekend but ran all weekend too. can't wait for next time.
  7. it was taken care of last night. thanks.
  8. i watched a report on teevee a couple weeks ago about a device thieves are applying to atm machines. it's a card reader that when placed above the ATM machines card reader, you hardly notice that you're swiping your card through both readers. the false card reader is removed a short time later and the thieves have all of your card information, and can duplicate a card in minutes. also, watch for the tweekers in the drive-thru. they have similar hand-held devices that they can discreetly swipe your card without you noticing.
  9. actually, as i was leaving he stated "i'm not gonna chase you." apparently he did chase me atleast to the door to yell "walk" heh. L.A. Yamaha is selling them for $7500 OTD from what i read on YFZcentral from someone who purchased one from them. that's $500 less than MSRP. i don't mind doing the right thing and paying taxes and supporting local businesses, but $2700 over msrp is silly!
  10. i went to ride now on boulder/russell the day after thanksgiving (black friday) to view the new yfz450r. they had one that "they just got that day" but it was the LE red/white version, and i wanted the blue version. they wanted $8599 for the quad (msrp $7999) because it's "the very first one in vegas", $10,699 OTD. i told them i'd wait for the second one. they called me back in there because they had a blue one now. i went there today and they had a blue one, and a white/red one (probably the same one from last month that they claimed "wouldn't last through the weekend") and asked them how much OTD.. $8599 for the quad, $10,699 OTD! i left the building. the finance guy screamed "walk" as i crossed the parking lot to enter my truck and leave. sad thing is, some sucker will pay it because they initially didn't want to tell me any price breakdown, just a monthly payment amount.
  11. you can see the bags inflated in the second picture.. but i'm still confused on the sideways shocks.
  12. i had the weekend off but i didn't go, didn't know i was having the weekend off until wednesday afternoon, and working 2 months straight 80+ hours a week with no day off, i wasn't able to get the toyhauler ready. maybe next time.
  13. i got to play with a ktm 505sx this weekend, a thing of beauty. the 450sx and 505 sx are truly race ready, and light. 363 pounds race ready, wet. $12,700 otd here in vegas.. it'll take two weeks to get the 450sx but i may have a new quad by christmas. =)~
  14. if you're considering a twist throttle, it's probably cause you're uncomfortable with a thumb throttle, as i am. i've always rode on a twist. i jump, i ride ft through the desert and as fast as i can through whoops with a twist and i can do that all far greater than with a thumb throttle. it's like second nature to me, but i'm accustomed to it. maybe it's just me but unless my thumb is around the grip, i'm in FAR LESS control. it's like trying to hold a cup without wrapping your thumb around it. if i'm in a situation that i need to hold on tight and i'm giving too much throttle input, my natural reaction is to put my right shoulder forward. place your hands around the front of your desk right now and try it, watch the reaction of your wrist. your body placement is key to riding safely and properly with a twist throttle. the twist throttle itself isn't dangerous, it's just a component. your shoulders should be positioned about a foot forward from where your rear end is placed on the seat. sitting upright will cause you to lose your balance and a natural reaction to doing that is to hold on tight to something, in this case the handlebars. with a twist throttle you're going to increase or hold a constant acceleration and eventually wreck. this situation is not as common with a thumb throttle, however a little more common with a thumb throttle is having the bars removed from your hands by a jarring impact as the hand doesn't have a solid grasp around the grip. the throttle hand virtually rests on the grip and aids in steering and control. if you think you'll become accustomed to a twist throttle easier/better than a thumb throttle, see if you can borrow a friends quad and try it out for a day or so. see if it's for you or not.
  15. sorry to hear that brother. on halloween weekend 05, i looked back and didn't see the broad, just as you did. went back a couple dunes and there she was planted in the sand.. she got broad-sided by a couple kids in a rhino. tore her 700r up, most importantly tore her up a bit. she had surgery on her wrist about a year later because of it. good to hear all is well brother. never stop riding.
  16. white folks are ruthless! =X
  17. i might have to cancel dune season again this year. last year i worked 7 12's october through february, and this weekend i start 7 10's, 12's soon. have fun folk.
  18. i love the thread pete, good reminder. horrible incident however.
  19. i listened to fungus on occasion, but i can assure you there's never been a time in my life that i've stated "i wanna listen to AC/DC all effin' day long!"
  20. there wasn't anything that really stood out at this years show. i liked the paintjob on the godfather rail. pro armor had some amazing deals on their atv/utv aftermarket aluminum parts.
