  1. Sorry about this, I just needed to get to 300 postings.......... :fro_smokin: Now back to our regularly scheduled thread........................
  2. I switched back to Verizon, and I was sitting in my MOHO last weekend at Dumont talking on the phone...............it was so friggen cool...............
  3. I used to have Nextel. If you want service, go to the creek, or to the top of Comp Hill. Those are the two spots I found worked the best for Nextel.
  4. Wasn't me Bob, the wife and I got out of dodge early Sunday morning around 9. I kept an eye out for you and any other DDR peeps all weekend though.
  5. First, I have to say that the weather could NOT have been any better. Mid 80's during the day and low 50's at night with just a very small breeze to blow the dust away. The dunes were very chopped up fpr the most part, but we were able to find some nice ones on the north side of the mouth to comp once we got back into the dunes. Not crowded at all even though people were coming in all weekend. Staking their claim to some real estate for T-day weekend I'm sure. Most of the vendors were there, DogHouse showed up on Friday. In the end, it was a good weekend even though 2 out of 4 rails in my group broke. We did a little of , and a whole bunch of The road in was good, even though it is still one big washboard, but it doesn't bother me too much. Here are a few pics I took during the weekend....................... The one time the breeze stopped............the dust settled in like concrete (only lasted for an hour) A couple of buddies just partying This is what NOT to do.............. A nice shot of the sunset on Friday afternoon

  13. I'm glad I have an RV dump at my house also...........no waiting in lines. But I will give the $5 to dump my trash and any other trash I pick up when I'm out at Dumont. Lugged home an extra 2 bags of trash last trip.
  14. I was hit by a dune buggy/sand rail also, so I know what he's going through. Charlie, I wish you a full and speedy recovery................. :fro_smokin: Donation to his recovery efforts has been made by the HappyHour Family................ :fro_smokin:
  15. Now this is what I like to see.....................
  16. Over the last few days I have been reading all that is going on with this board and the events that happened over the course of the weekend. I completely agree with everything everybody is bitching about. The idiots, the this, the that, I am so on board with it and understand your frustrations. I also agree whole heartedly with Pete and his frustrations. Let me say this. I stopped going to Dumont on holiday weekends for these exact reasons. My last holiday weekend was Halloween of '05 and I am so loving it on the off-weekends. The closest thing I have gotten to a holiday weekend was the clean-up back in March. I am fortunate enough to have a job to where I can get pretty much the days off I want along with my wife and we make the most of them. When I was going on holiday weekends, I relized (spelling??) a few things. There is nothing I can do about the idiots or morons except make sure that my wife and myself were out of harms way and just watch the action. That meant marking off about 10 feet around my MOHO if I happened to be on the outside of the circle and parking WAAAAAAY out in the back forty at comp so I don't get run over or dusted by racers. As long as my wife and I were safe, that's all that mattered. All I can suggest is this, when going on holiday weekends, come to terms with the fact that you are going to get every Tom, d*ck, and Harry in the western hemisphere out there and they WILL do stupid things. But as long as you and your loved ones are safe and cautious when they ride, then you can have a good weekend. All I can attribute to as to what is in the minds of these idiots is this. The younger generation (approx. 16-27 year olds) generally don't care about anything or anybody. They like to destroy things by blowing them up or running over them. The more they drink, the worse it gets. As far as the older ones in the LTR cars, well the more they drink, the more indestructable they think they are. Shiat is going to happen and to those that are on the recieving end of the tragic things that happen, and I feel real bad. I would like to wish everyone here a happy and SAFE dune season. "And that's all I have to say about that."
  17. Good jobs guys..................... :shocked2: :shocked2:
  18. Just from reading his post and seeing what the enviro-terrorists have done over the years, I believe that rpost215 is talking in general terms when he uses the word "fence" and not talking about Dumont in particular. He's right, they start with little things and keep going until those little things accomplish the ultimate objective of whatever they are fighting for. He does have some very good points. I'll be watching this thread.................. :beer_bang:
  19. I went out there last Thursday and bought my pass from the Valero gas station in Baker on my way in...............they do have them. :freakin_nuts:
  20. Do you guys have electric classes or is it all gas??
  21. Is there a webpage for the race track? I may just have to pack up my stuff and come out there to race for a day...........................
  22. Thanks a bunch buddy! Today is good and we don't expect much fire around us anymore. I have been listening to my police scanner for the last two days. The fires are now in Castaic, and at the corner of The Old Road and Sierra Highway. Along with running around town looking for hot spots, the cops out here have also been dealing with looters around burned areas. Effin' Thugs For those that are local, I was listening today and the Sheriffs got a guy on Sierra Highway just south of Enternal Valley Mortuary Park that was dressed in a bright orange jump suit, sun glasses, a hat, and had a police scanner on him. Sounds funky to me. They were calling for Arson Investigators to respond to his location. I don't know the outcome. But anyway, the whole HappyHour family is good and thanks again for the offers of help............
  23. You can go up the 5 frwy to the 14 frwy north, get off at Pearblossom Highway to Hwy 138, Right to Hwy 18, Left and that takes you right in to Victorville. Then the 15 north and you are back on track. Probably a little out of the way for you, but it works. Anotherway is the 14 north to the 58 in Mojave, go East and that takes you into Barstow. Hope this helps....................
  24. Update...........Now a part of the fire is burning around the backside of Saugus which is along the end of Seco Cyn. Today my In-laws house has been evacuated, unfortunately my wife's Uncle and Aunt who were evacuated from their house yesterday are now being evacuated from my in'laws. (talk about bad luck). As far as I go, I'm kind of surrounded by fire, but there is a lot of land between the fire and myself so we're good. Thanks for the good thoughts and offers of help...................
