  1. 1982 KZ1000 (built a bit :beer_bang: ) 5.5 Gallon tank, and I'm getting about 38-40 mpg maybe a bit more if I ride nice. (bwahahahahahha)
  2. Its been costing me OVER 20 bucks to fill the street bike. Thats just wrong.
  3. The studies done have shown that talking on a hands free or holding the phone to your ear makes no difference. Someone on the phone driving is 400% more likely to CAUSE an accident. In Nevada, the law currently says that local communities can NOT pass a law restricting cel phone use while driving (thanks to a past law that our old Gov. who just happen to get a HUGE campaign donation from some of the phone companies.) I ride streetbike everyday on US95 and I15, and I can spot a cel phone driver from 100+ yards away from how theyre driving. I'm sorry to the people who think they can talk on the phone and drive simultaneously, but NO you CAN'T!
  4. I WISH we had that law in Nevada.
  5. We had Gecko do our trailer and a couple trucks at the shop, fantastic work!
  6. Yep IMS and Blingstar make em. But make sure, but I believe you have to run their footpegs as well for them to fit. Usually by the time you get done buying both heel guards and footpegs you could have just bought ProPeg Nerfs with everything on em.
  7. Wot? OMFGWTF U R 7H3 5UXX0R5!!!11!!!1!11!!!!!eleven
  8. Again we can thank all the sleazeball lawyers and greedy sob's sueing everyone for these new laws and age restrictions. Hope it was worth it.
  9. Well we can thank all the stupid lawsuits people bring on dealers and OEM's for that.
  10. Stock rear bolt pattern on a Blaster is 4/100
  11. Skat Trak also makes The Ripper paddles, check em out.
  12. Ridgerunner did ALOT of changes just in the last year on them. They are ALOT of fun to blast around in, a total trip.
  13. Check on Parts Availability. I cant stress that enough. Did I say check on parts availability? Well I'll say it again.. Check on parts availability.
  14. Why TY I try and have rather "creepy" avatars... Here's a clue to the laws and why they're in effect as dealing to the age restriction you run into at your local dealership... (Man I'm gonna give away my age) Anyways, the restrictions primarily went into effect in 1988 or so dealing with age because of a few studies.. If a child crashed a dirt bike, the majority of the time the bike would go one way and the rider another. When an ATV'er crashed, more likely the quad would roll with the person causing more injury than the actual crash itself. As for the cc limits, 250cc back in those days were TriZ's, ATC/TRX250R's and the such, not so much the TRX250EX's and some we have today. The other point for the dealer not selling them if they know its for a youngster isnt the dealer trying to be pricks. I worked for factory Yamaha back in 94, and had believe it or not, a local shop that was "shopped" by the ATV Safety Institute and got caught recommending a Wolverine 350 for a large sized 15 yr old, the "customer"(shopper) told him. That dealer was fined a few thousand dollars and was put on probation if they got caught doing it again they would have the Yamaha ATV franchise yanked from them. The OEM's dont screw around with that stuff, hence putting the dealers kahune's in a bind. Just about every dealer Ive worked at over the last ummm few *cough* years has been sued numerous times for a youngster being hurt on an ATV they shouldn't have been riding.
  15. And THATS why they keep passing laws like that. Because a parent lets a young kid take his built banshee out, hurts himself, and sues the dealership, the manufacturer, and the state of the riding area. It happens so much more than you'de ever believe. BTW Local Vegas residents can see the new commercials trying to get the people to jump onboard of the latest Rhino rollover lawsuit, now watch what new laws will be passed on side by sides in the near future so some greedy folks can make a few bucks.
  16. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! POWERMACHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Quick thing. Make sure you're doing something you like. My best freind and I went, he stayed in his field (accountant) and I pretty much tossed my degree (computer programming) to the wayside to do something where I actually liked going to work. 20 years later, he hates his job, I still enjoy mine, and we make the same amount of money. If you're not happy in your job it will reflect on your home life and everything else you do.
  18. Just dont classify UMC as a hospitol then, youre almost guaranteed dead going in that joke of a dump.
  19. Here's what they really mean when they write back... Dear taxpayer, Us congressional morons appreciate your babble about riding areas, but the truth of the matter is we're going to close 98% of the land so we can sell the rest to developers because we need that big cash kickback. But don't worry, the 2% we'll keep open for you as a "Designated Riding Area" we'll charge you to use, and will only be accessable during the times we decide until we deem that its too big of a liability because a few illegals riding 9 on a quad get hurt and we'll have our official excuse to sell whats left of the land to more developers and get ourselves some more cashola. Thanks for voting for me, and I'll make sure I throw you some scraps when I'm on my 6 digit retirement at your cost when youre trying to feed your family. Regards, Senator Bullshitter
  20. Yeah sounds like the guy was lacking just a tad in the professionalism dept. As for hardware, if its something common, hit up McFaddenDale's, its a dream for most people. If its an OEM nut or bolt, trust me, the dealer paid through the nose for it. As for special length/shape bolts that you cant find at a hardware store, trust me, most dealers (Japanese OEM's) arent getting much markup in it. Then the larger stuff, anything specialty like suspension, exhaust, etc etc we're lucky to get 10-20% markup at best. Here's a little something, motorcycle parts managers have an overall goal margin to hit, which is actually rather hard to do because most things don't have it at retail price..............a 40% margin. I'm not sure how the buggy market is, but regardless, Id talk to the owner and see if he knows how his employee was acting, family or not, he wouldn't be pleased.
  21. Oops sorry I missed this, not yet, we switched companies we were using and are STILL waiting, what a nightmare.
  22. Joy! I know the feeling, I'm doing the same thing to an old street bike I rescued out of a scrap pile. Just a hint, but here's something I learned about doing bike projects (told to me AFTER I started) 1. Timeframe - never gonna happen, throw it out the window, you'll keep finding things you wanna do as you go. 2. Cost - take the original amount you thought you were going to spend, double it, and addd an additional 30%, that's where you'll probably roll in at. But it is fun, I'll admit that.
  23. Yup, what little oil was left in the motor looked like it came off a BBQ grill....just a bit hot ya think? lol
  24. This is from a recent TRX400EX that came in the shop, the gentleman who bought it recently said the previous owner NEVER changed his oil..... Now oil doesn't seem so expensive does it?
