i remember a time a few years ago when it had rained a lot we got on the gravel road and right away we encountered big potholes every couple of feet....i'm here to tell you it was a nightmare. 50mph is normal for me, but you wouldn't be able to go 5mph that day! i'm pretty sure it was a big weekend.....huge backup of traffic, but that wasnt why you werent moving very fast.....it was those potholes. then maybe halfway in the grader was coming out. thank effen gawwwwd! not sure if that was the same time i encountered maybe 12 inches of water raging in the creek, but lots of peeps not willing to cross it. made a trip over to the mines near little dunes and noticed a toyhauler in the baby DUNES. rode over to see if we could help. it was a huge toyhauler maybe 30 feet or so and he had a broken tierod. he was on the phone to triple a and we laugh about what kind of bill he got in the end so yes it can be VERY bad when it rains a lot, whitch it's sposed to do this week.

heading out this a.m. for a day trip. hope someones got kids for my 6 and 8 y/o to play with.

my boys are 6 and 8, and i'm always looking for new peeps with kids to camp with at dumont. we will be interested to know ages of other kids in your camp(as i think ANYONE reading this thread would be interested too if they don't know you). i can't say if i'm going that weekend, but will be watching this thread in case we can get away. my new girlfriend also has 6-8-14y/o daughters. thanks.

agreed, they are fun as hell....as well as i got around with a ranger i'm sure the rzr gets around WAY better. have fun with whatever yuh dune with!! that's my motto. anyways...nice videos.

also many had weak motor mounts that would break and cause the mis-alignment, thus shredding the belt.

no he didn't just call me an idiot!!!i have owned at least 50 different duneable vehicles in my life and had fun EVERY TIME i went duning them. yes, i have seen SOME of your videos...i have been duning for over 35 years and i know how to get from one end of the dunes to the other in high fashion. i see a lot of small rolling dunes in the videos, not climbing BIG dunes. ask around and i think you will find i got that "school bus" around the dunes pretty well and enjoyed it very much. i don't care whether it's a suzuki 250 or my 04 jeep rubicon or my 400 horse subaru sandrail, i'm having fun no matter what i take to the dunes. i'm here to tell yuh....you aren't gonna keep up with my subaru on a one end to the other dune run with your rzr...nor are you gonna keep up with my ds650 bombardier...in your quote above it says"those things dune any where a quad or rail can go and then some. and quite quickly with very little effort" do you seriously think it's with very little effort? i'm betting your foot is to the floor about 90 percent of the time and wishing you had more power like all the rest of us out there. idiot rite bak atcha. sign me bitter about polaris lack of warranty and p*sspoor engineering, not bitter about how it went in the dunes with my fat a$$ AND my 2 kids in it.

after 105 hours and 5 drive belts i will NEVER own another polaris....my 07 ranger 700xp didn't even get the first belt warranteed with less than 20 hours on it....they don't stand behind their warranty.....i've owned several new polaris's but after that fiasco, never again. those muffin huggers won't warranty ANYTHING. better to wait another few months to see what ktm and honda have up their sleeves. rant off. totally agree the rzr doesnt have enuff power for duning(this is dumont dune riders, after all).

because i CAN.....clutches are highly over-rated......and because i've had a very busy year and didn't want to dissassemble the whole dam car to do a trans and clutch when i was makin' money on fixin' other peeps cars. had a great weekend out there....only got stuck 1.7 times, about average for me for a two day trip. my girlfriend is still talking to me today so it musta been a good trip for her too ....much appreciation to the three guys that gave a push to get me going again when i missed a gear on a slow flat stretch(sorry, don't remember the screen name).....coulda been ugly walkin' a new girl back to camp to get help.... the sand was awesome with no wind while we were there at all(a little cold).....although there were a few witches eyes. i expected to see a LOT more peeps there . was hoping to get a bonzai run in with some ballers, but maybe next time. saw the ambulance once, but never heard what happened.....anywayz, we will be back out soon and i will be showin' her off at the dumont dune riders camp(i know, i know.....there's not ONE dumont dune riders camp). thanks for the help and thanks to the peeps that stopped by to make her feel welcome.

since i got spell chick, my life is much simpler.

yeah, that's right. i got a girlfriend. she's beautiful, great personality, and best of all...she's got her own atv's. (white suzuki 250, also 80 and 50 for the 3 daughters)rollin out to the D this weekend and hopin you guys can help make it a great weekend for us/her....if a trip to the dunes with 4 girls in one motorhome doesn't kill a relationship it can survive anything. anywho.....if you see the ghetto (you'll hear me coming before you see me)purple subaru sandrail stuck out there i would appreciate a tow to get it pointed downhill again(remember, i aint had no clutch in over a year now) and a little restraint if i get too close to yuh while duning. should be camped on the left right across from the ranger station near b/r 12.....so come by and say hi. ...if yer hungry i will feed you a burrito.....i've helped a lot of you out there, now it's time for payback. thanks.

got my memory cards from costco...as i remember you had to buy 2. triple a batteries at costco too. kirkland costs almost half what duracell costs as i recall. and if yer gonna use that camera like randog does i would buy several lense covers(unless yer the lead dog, the scenery never changes).........hey, that would be a good screen name for somebody!

looks kinda like nevada jim's buggy....not sure...i have slept since i last saw it.... the pic is fuzzy and kinda far away too.
