  1. here's a link to a story on what happens when you add music to a video that's copywrited http://www.cnbc.com/id/29836285
  2. thanks for fixing me up too bp. i got mine a couple months ago and just got around to opening the box for clean-up weekend. i know they're cheaper now, but that doesn't bother me(much....hee hee). when it came time for batteries i went the cheap route and got the kirklands at costco. i figure this camera won't last long with that slot where you put the memory card being a great place for sand to get in(cover with a piece of elect tape?). i learned a lesson years ago with vcr camcorder...who knew sand and cameras wouldn't like each other? i carry mine when not in use in a ziplock bag...turns out my digital still cam has the same card in it, so i already had 2 for that...didn't even have to buy one. some of you may have seen joel mohr's baja bug out filming on clean-up weekend. we made some really good videos with me following the two baja bugs and then we mounted the cam on one of the bajas and filmed me in the purple ghetto-rail(the one you hear coming before you see it...creak creak). one thing about these wide angle cams is you gotta be pretty close to the subject to get a good shot. i wonder if the cheaper cam go-pro sells wouldn't be a better choice for what we are doing in the dunes. a friend has one and i saw a video he had taken, but i hadn't used mine yet so don't remember whether it might be better. anyone using the cheaper model out there??? also like bp said in a previous thread the closer you mount it to the motor the better. and don't even think about running it without the plastic waterproof box it comes in if using in the dunes. instructions say take the seal out of the waterproof box for much better sound, but the wages for that sin will be DEATH to your camera i'm thinkin.
  3. http://www.outfrontmotorsports.com/homepage.htm spend a couple hours on the outfront website and you will be convinced.
  4. obama?....ummmm so far, so bad. ....gotta admit that's some funny chit rite there.
  5. a few years ago my 2 year old son took a barefoot walk through the cactus garden. OMFG :ah: ....thought about it for a few minutes(don't panic amid all the screaming!). got a helmet, taped on a magnifying glass to it, got tweezers, started to work. then a friend called emergency room at hospital and asked what to do....are you ready....it was pure genius. elmers glue! i spread it on his feet and by the time i got it on there he was exhausted and crashed to sleep. half hour later it's dry. peel it off and viola! problem solved. next day it was like he never even took the stroll. amazing stuff.
  6. the doctor that engineered this should(and possibly will) be in jail.
  7. always wanted to go there...maybe i will go with you guys instead of my summer coos bay oregon trip. maybe you should try that one sometime too.
  8. monkeys i tell yuh. fukin monkeys runnin our gubmint. soon it will be time to pick up the pitchforks and torches. btw, how is it most of those s-oh-bees that voted yes on the bailout of the banks got re-elected right after the passage of the bill? (too busy watching "american idol"). i wonder if law-enforcement/military will shoot us citizens or will they finally turn their guns on their captors(politicians). just remember the american revolution could never have happened if we had let them take away our guns!!!

  10. takin' this opportunity to remind everyone if you do find a WILD tortoise yer not sposed to pick it up or even touch it. in californy if one is touched it can never see the open desert again. it must be adopted to someone with a liscense. somethin about bacteria or salmonella or sumthin....anyways....just sayin'.....and by the way....anybody that likes cats.......we should share recipes.
  11. :stir: i see trouble with law enforcement in your future(seat belts, helmets, too many passengers..........)
  12. call the cops....that way when he and his "gang" use your banking info, they can get him in jail with a record to show for it. i know he will be out next day, but at least you tried. your bank is gonna want to see due diligence.....dam...our country is broken. sad what america has come to.
  13. gives a whole new meaning to the term "eat it"
  14. NOT TRYIN TO JACK THE THREAD, BUT ALSO A GOOD PLACE TO PARK A TOYHAULER ON JULY 4 IS DRIVE 20 MINUTES OR SO TO SANTA MARIA WAL-MART. OOPS! can't stay at pismo wal-mart but santa maria is ok last time i stayed a couple years ago.
  15. bum deal, for sure. years ago i used to go on fourth of july weekend and stay at motel 6 with no reservations. i would go to the office at i think around 1030 am and ask if there were any cancelations and they ALWAYS had at least a couple rooms....once you get in you got a leg up on the next night. just sayin'.
  16. toldjuh our gubmint is run by monkeys peeps. pitchforks and torches. that's what it's gonna take to get em out!
  17. uhhhhh.....we are gonna require more details than that. hope the bodys(you and car) aren't too banged up!
  18. whats on american idol tonite?
  19. dems and republicans both had a hand in this. deal with it, peeps. our system of gumint is BROKEN!....being elected to ANY office brings opportunity to take bribe money from lobbyists at the top, all the way down to local gubmint positions. they get money for voting one way or another, paid off by wall street fat cats. when laws aren't enforced, the system breaks down. who was it said government can't give to someone without taking from someone? this is all gonna end badly, folks. our country is now run by monkeys, and the only way to get em out is when we all take up pitchforks and torches. sad that not enough are cold and hungry yet to make it happen, but it will happen. on the bright side, the dunes aren't nearly as crowded these days. shoulda sold that house and rented when they were priced at triple in 04-05. a pack of cubscouts coulda figgered that one out. prices will revert back to the mean. if anyone cares to know, home prices will be at year 2000 levels before this is over with. if we have a depression(likely) they will overshoot to the downside. if you want to know whats coming do a google on housing bubble.....calculated risk....doctor housing bubble. .....the president has one chance at this and he better get it right from the git go... and he better start having frog marches for the people responsible. the list is long. o.k....off my soapbox and back to watching american idol or dancing with the stars or flip this house or....................
  20. thanks for leadin' the train after the meet n greet pete. it was fun,(gotta fix that clutch one o these days) and definitely included at least one member from every campsite at the dunes. anybody know the guy got heilcoptered out sun nite? he had some cuts around his hip and they had taped his arm to immobilize it. looked like a lotta pain. looked like he came off a dune at the south end and made a "close inspection of local ground conditions". hope he's alright. monday ride was great too. wind came up for a few minutes, but died right back down. left early and hiked to the mines from salt creek bathroom. never knew there was such a great place to relax there in the trees with picnic benches and all. lots of history back there on the interpritive trail.
  21. we went to mcdonalds yesterday and put a milkshake on layaway.
