  1. i did see randog fri evening as we were helping a guy who broke both legs while landing a (too long/high) two wheeler jump.....but didn't get to talk to him, although i think the damage on his sanrail was relatively minimal, from what i saw. i towed in a sanrail that was hit by the girls husband in his sanrail on friday. he was probly gettin spanked out there by her. spose they can hash out who hit who for the next few years hee hee. he drove his car back sans front suspension on one side. i told her to call me if they end up with a divorce over it. watched LE with their stuck wrangler. officer said they are not allowed to air down to less than 20lbs with those kevlar tires ....YOU GOTTA BE EFFEN KIDDIN ME! why even take it out there? either put some regular tires on that you can take them down to 12lbs or leave it home for kripes sake! somebody's gotta talk to the powers that be on that issue.....anyways, where was i? weather was perfect thurs and fri....got real chopped up by fri nite and lo and behold, wind blew all night and sat am before i left we had virgin dunes again(thank you sand gods)! got three turkey dinner invites on thurs....accepted all, of course. lots of accidents and the crowd was maybe a fourth of what it used to be(the new normal). managed to get that wrangler to the top of the highest hill. thanks to all that helped make it an awesome weekend!
  2. looks like i go without the sanrail this time. be there with the rubicon and bombuhdeer early t-day.....hope somebody's got some extra turkey!
  3. love the typo......i think you meant "anal to go"???
  4. we just lurked on saturday with the rubicon...didn't get around too much...sorry i missed some of my friends out there, but it was a last minute trip to see wades new desert dynamics sanrail he just finished on friday. gonna be a sweet ride when he gets all the bugs worked out!
  5. first quad in bed. front tires on top of cab. then second quad humping the first quad(doggie style).......or first quad on backwards, stand on end, second quad on frontways, stand on end and tie them together(missionary position) . dont forget to turn off the gas.
  6. MY KIDS ARE 6 AND 8 NOW AND WE'VE been trick-or-treating dumont for 6 years now. last year they scored a pillowcase full of candy they could no longer carry within an hour. we have seen maybe a dozen toyhaulers set up as haunted houses over the years, a couple of them were very elaborate! we look for halloween decorations/lights/jack-o-lanterns as our targets. dumont people are VERY generous, to say the least. it's my feeling that the people that ARE prepared with candy don't expect many kids to show up, so give plenty to each kid. i always take king size snickers and peanut butter cups kingsize too.....btw.....if my kids show up at yer camp and you forgot the candy, we also accept race gas.
  7. hope you didn't wear the red sweater to the weddin' :stir:
  8. pray tell......who's not "getting along"? :stir: wish i knew how to get them on here. i got a vcr video of my blue baja bug from maybe 1988 doing maybe 60mph across the top of comp from one end to the other. and ran across a still of my baja and my fastback type 3 stuck next to each other in the middle of the dunes at spinreel(coos bay) from 1982.
  9. GOT AN OLD INDIAN TRICK FOR YUH. BUY THE SEARS SET, USE IT. RETURN IT.......OR BETTER YET, KEEP IT FOR DUMONT!
  10. since i'm from coos bay origonally i will have to say it's the best dunes i have ever been to. check out bull run between the beach and the main dunes...best to ask some locals how to find it. if i was you knowing what i know about the oregon dunes i would go with hat in hand through the staging area and find some locals and ask them to take you on a tour. the problem with going it on yr own is you WILL miss a lot of things hidden in the trees. all ya gotta do is blink and a missed turn will result in missed opportunity. there are sooo many roads going through trees and into lakes and sidehills along lakes or trees where if you aren't a good rider you will have one h*ll of a time getting out, but that's what makes coos bay so much fun and sooo challenging. from horsefall going north ....boxcar(no longer a real hill), teacup, razorback, trees of mystery, beaver slide, v8hill,...that gets you to hauser where theres a staging area and koacampground. then on north towards spinreel(the best camping spot, in my opinion). winchester bay is another fun spot but havent spent much time there since about 1973 when i started duning. florence is another huge and fun riding area....never spent much time there either. lots of motels there and coos bay too....close to the dunes. theres Bug Germanators in north bend if he's still in business...ask him in a pinch where to go. he does a lot of go fast work on sanrails and vw engines, among other things. or you could always look up my phone# and call me and i can get you through there...randy's european automotive in hesperia. i mite go up around july 15 or 20th. have fun! OBTW....stay out of closed areas.....they are REAL serious about that up there....big fines.
  11. way to go cole! sounds like yer one of the guys i want standin around at the dunes when i finally eat it big. now, bout them muffin huggers that did the deed....aren't there some cameras around there somewhere.
  12. dammitt. my pigs have been sick and now i'm gettin sick! j/k
  13. i remember seeing on the news a couple three months ago a story about one of those guys that was driving the car with portable radar was beaten to death....it seems someone didn't take kindly to being ticketed.....maybe there is a god after all.
  14. i hear he looks real good in his red sweater......somebody post pics please.
  15. thanks for the hat-tip guys, but there's no way i believe you can't hear me coming as soon as i leave camp. the ghetto sanrail has the creakiest suspension of all time! youse guys always have the great runs, so i drop what i'm do'in to get in on them. fun times fo sho.(i swear i'm gonna make that clutch work before next season!) btw...i have'nt seen the saint anthony trip lately. when you guys going? i mite try to make that one if invited and i promise not to talk about the housing bubble!
  16. had to take the rubicon to the dunes this weekend cause the trans is making noise in the ghetto sandrail(sure glad i didn't fix that clutch a few trips ago). went to the meet n greet at two, but heard of the rollover at talladega so i went to see if i could help get it out. it was a green longtravel....didn't recognize him, but i loaned him my toolbag(hope he put all my tools back) so he removed a bunch of the front end and they brought out a trailer with a dually p/u and hauled it off with no problems. also heard of a green sanrail that rolled the day before. then i heard of a blue one also rolling in the camp area(was doing a wheelie too close to camp i heard from someone that helped turn it back over? that one someone ended up with lacertions when they were thrown out with no seatbelts i heard. weather was perfect both days. got to drive my buddy wade's newly painted car a couple times(niiiice). it's in the meet n greet pics....yellow subaru powered sand cars unlimited. ran into a couple german guys walking in the dunes. i drive up and say"you KNOW you can't be WALKING out here...right?...it's the law! they were very appologetic and said they were leaving immediately! so i say, no, i'm just dickin' with yuh. and i took them for a ride in the jeep up to the big bowl near south end of dunes. i look down and see a longtravel buggy in a withches eye with a tow strap on it. so i go down to lend a hand. they want to borrow another tow strap to tow it with their p/u. they start hooking it up and i say "what's broke" and they say nothing ....ummmm , then why arent' you driving it out....drrrr. long story shorter, they back it up the hill and get a bit of a run at it and it's oughta there! (it was running like :poop: ) with no towing (rookies!)........even got a few rides on the renegade x. awesome bike for an old guy finished off the weekend towing back the kids motorcycle with the can am when he seized it up. hope that wasn't too boring for you muffin huggers!
  17. time to take back our country from the politicians. all across america there will be protests scheduled on tax day. we have three of them here in victorville. do a google on "tea party" and you should be able to find a link to your local one. even if you don't attend you should pay attention to what's happening that day, because there are likely to be disruptions in your drive to work or? i wouldn't be surprised to see a riot or two that day. a lot of people i talk to are really p*ssed about our congress wrecking our country. there also will be tea parties on july 4th. don't forget yer pitchforks!
  18. well....i got my kids all excited. said we was going to disneyland! then we piled into the car and headed out. so then i stop at a burned out warehouse and i tell them OH NOOOOO, DISNEYLAND BURNED DOWN! they were pretty bummed. actually it worked so well that i didn't want to ruin it by calling april fools. i will probly tell them the truth some day. ok ok just kidding...heres what really happened. i talked all day on the first about how we was going to disneyland on the 2nd. so we get up the morning of apr 2 and my son says yahooooo, we are going to disneyland today!! then i say omg, don't you know what day yesterday was....it was april fools day. APRIL FOOLS! the look on their faces was PRICELESS. (yes, we went).
  19. Lou B did a great job and stayed close to me on this little clip. >>> <<<Don't worry, I made this one short so no one gets bored. nice....but i betcha it would be better with the cheepie cam. i gotta get back to my friend that has the cheepie and do a comparison. the great thing about the wide angle is it gets everything that's even close to the camera. btw....took the kids bike riding at huntington beach the other day with my 5y/old with his helmet cam. they got a real kick out of it. same thing at disneyland last week. gettin a lot of use out of it.
  20. still wanna see one of the cheap(under a hundy i think) go-pros without the wide angle. seems like everyone got the expensive camera and all you see is a speck if yer more than ten yards from the camera. we got some great videos but i still think the cheaper one mite be better for what we do in the dunes....comments anyone?
  21. no sh*t....like anyone else had a fuggin chance against the master of the air! :ah:
  22. that's a good one! the link worked for me....
