LS is badass. Sand Mountain is super tall and the dunes are pretty decent in the back. The small stuff and sand trails through the trees are really cool too. I love it up there.

I haven't even thought of the sand much lately. I have been thoroughly been enjoying my summer so far with the new bike. It's at last 3 more months before I'll be back out at D. We have quite a bit planned in October so first trip will probably be sometime in November. I do miss driving my rail especially every time I have to walk around it in the garage. I haven't sat in it yet making turbo blow off valve noises. I give it another month before that starts to happen.

In perfect conditions, you are fine towing that light of a trailer as long as it's not loaded to the max. But If you want to start packing the crap out of it and loading a 4 seater into it, you are pushing the limits of that truck. Add the possibility of bad weather, tire failure, people cutting out in front of you when your braking distance is limited, heavy winds, etc etc and it gets very dangerous. Every single person I have ever known who started towing a toyhauler with a half ton truck, ended up buying a 3/4 or 1 ton within a year. I can count about 7 or 8 people in which this was the case. Try and get a brake controller? It's not an option. It's required. Every tow rig up to a one ton truck requires a brake controller in order to tow that much weight safely.

Nice looking chassis. Not sure of the make. I'd go with a HONDA powerplant. Surprisingly powerful, reliable and and inexpensive.

Can you believe it's already time for us to fill out out our BLM permit packet for the 5th Annual ATC70 Regatta? That's right. 5th Annual! Crazy huh? We have to get our permit into the BLM 6 months ahead of time in order to pull off next year's event. We're hoping everything comes together smoothly, but tentatively plan for the first weekend in February 2013. Details to come as the next 70 regatta unfolds.

I think he was referring to Dumont BLM, not those Glamis d*cks. I have never been harassed at Dumont unless I was already being cited for doing something wrong.

That place is really cool. We did a trip up there on the DS bikes a while back. I bet is was a nice and peaceful trip. Great photos!

As posted on our FB page today, Dumont was featured again in Sand Sports Magazine. Pick up the latest (July/ August) issue and flip to page 40 where you'll find an excellent article and photos on The Four Stroke Wars at Dumont Dunes by Neal Rideout. Neal (FE135 here on DDR) has become quite the contributor to Sand Sports Mag. The "Gold Thunder" article on page 38 is his too! Great job keeping the dune media scene alive! Great job Neal!

Mike did! We went out on a ride Sunday with it already. Call it a nice long 100 mile "test ride" through various terrain. I'm pretty stoked he is picking it up. Not only does it stay in the family, but Mike can now come along with me on those epic DS rides! It's a win win situation. He hasn't ridden 2 wheels since probably 2004, but Sunday he rode his a$$ off. I couldn't believe it. He was right on my a$$ most of the way even through the technical, single track stuff. Just like at the dunes. He said he bike fit him perfectly, almost as if it was set up for him. That made me pretty stoked to hear. It's an awesome bike. I just wish you and Aaron could pick one up and then the OG crew could all go riding YEAR ROUND! haha Aaron refuses though. Wuss!
