Can you believe it? Only another month / month and a half left to go. Is it just me or does anyone else "smell" dune season" approaching? What I mean is those evenings where the temperatures are starting to get a bit cooler. You'll be out in the garage doing something and the cool air has that distinct cool smell of dune season. You can almost hear the sound of RV generators in camp around the fire or quads & buggies out on the dunes. I've been dreading the maintenance and things I still have to do to get ready for the upcoming season, but I can't wait to get back out again and see my dune family and friends. My sandcar has been waiting very patiently. I've sat in it a few times over the summer and I miss driving it real bad! It won't be much longer now!

I just thought some might appreciate a pic I found of Smokin Al. I didn't even know I had this pic. It's from the south pole over Halloween 2008. Sure do miss that guy! The upcoming dune season won't be the same without him.

I like your style. You might be able to get up on top of the sand. It would be a b*tch though because of the weight. You never know until you try though. Enough horsepower & wheel spin with a paddle and anything is possible regardless of it's weight...sometimes. lol Whatever you do, you HAVE to get video of your first try. Will a paddle even fit/ clear on that bike?

Sorry but I don't think so. If you read the permit packet you would understand. There is so much involved it's ridiculous. I don't even have the patience to post it all up here it's so in depth. We're past the cutoff date anyways to have it early Feb. The permit needed to be in 6 months early. Just plan on coming out for a group dune trip with everyone. It will still be fun.
