It was so soft in that area that Pauly was just spinning to pull him out. So we grabbed the dune Tracker. :eatdrink021: check out the video... http://www.dumontduneriders.com/videos/stuck_lincoln.wmv Funny thing is that the Lincoln was the hardest thing to get out all weekend! It was sitting on the gas tank and the car was just dragging through the sand. It was a friggen anchor. :mc_smiley: Oh! And listen to sand~snake at about 16 seconds into it.

RHINO STOLEN FROM DUMONT SATURDAY NIGHT
dunefreak replied to sandcardude's topic in Dumont Happenings
I think 1320 was referring to sandcardude -
He means this weekend. I think he messed up the months. Damn, T. :eatdrink021:
-
No problem. :mc_smiley: Pauly Paul and sanddunessaddict were actually the one who pulled him out though. I had to do the filming. I have video too! :eatdrink021: I'll post that when I get it off the camera.

It's GENERAL CHAT, Kenny. I don't know why you aren't used to this section by now. it's a place where the duning community can talk about other things other than duning. -
I can see alot of people being mad about this because the Valero station misinformed them, BUT... As per Lynnette at the BLM: Translation: The new $40 weekly passes will not be counted as any credit towards a season pass because the season passes were available T-Day weekend at the entrance.
-
If you have any weekly passes that you would like to have credited towards a season pass here is what you will have to do to get it. -You may trade in your old $20 weekly passes from this season (passes purchased BEFORE November 21, 2007) as credit towards a new 07/08 season pass. -You can only do this through the BLM in person at the Barstow Field Office, by mail, or at the entrance to Dumont Dunes (when BLM staff is there on duty). Off-site vendors can not trade weekly passes for annual passes. -There will be BLM staff at the entrance to Dumont Dunes on the weekends from Friday-Monday to sell passes. -The BLM will have the annual passes for sale and will take your old weekly passes for credit at that time towards an annual pass. -Annual pass upgrades must be completed prior to December 31, 2007. -Only one pass for each week can be applied towards an annual pass. That is because if you had 2 passes for the same week, you entered with two primary vehicles, so you would have needed 2 annual passes if you were entering with annual passes. -Turning in of weekly passes towards the purchase of an annual pass ends December 31, 1007. -Thanksgiving Weekly Passes are $40. If a person purchased a pass for $20, it was sold in error and is not valid. These passes may be turned in for a valid pass with an additional $20. -If someone is trading in a Thanksgiving $40 pass for an annual pass, $30 can count towards the base pass and $10 towards the holiday extra fee. There should be very few Thanksgiving annual passes to trade in, and only those purchased at a vendor (not on-site) can be traded in. Officially the passes purchased prior to thanksgiving can be traded in and not those purchased for or after Thanksgiving. However, as some passes were sold in error, this rule has been made to address those situations. -There is a MAXIMUM of $90 (from weekly passes) that can be applied to an annual pass purchase. Hopefully this clears up any confusion.

some DDR love on a poll about oceano needed
dunefreak replied to Richard Cheese's topic in General Chat
When I saw the topic to this I was like WTF? "DDR love on a pole " -
I personally think this car as more style AND performance than any car out there in the dunes. It's unique and stands out from the rest. It will also put a whooping on 99% of the cars as well. Alot of people don't know what these cars can do or what they are capable of.

things i saw that worked
dunefreak replied to barefoot bob's topic in Dumont Regulations, Safety & BLM
Well put, Vicki. I agree. I, too, don't see how it is so hard for some to just load up their trash bags in their truck and take em home. -
That must have been on Wed night right after we got there and his knucklehead kid jumped on the quad and took off. He had no idea how to get back to camp so he used someone's phone and waited by bathroom 10 for daddy to come and get him. Welcome to the site. Glad you found it.

Good luck ever getting Kelso re-opened. I don't think that would ever happen. Here is more info about the lizard and Dumont closure threat from a while back. http://www.dumontduneriders.com/invision/i...&hl=closure
-
The fringe-toed lizard concern isn't news. That is what the Center for Biological Diversity was trying to use to close down Dumont back in 06. ...and yes the lizards do live there. I have seen many of them.

Your probably right. I am sure they (the BLM) are going to educate them (the vendors) better and hopefully get more accurate info out now that the mad rush is over. All I can say is the info that I post (on the pass page and hompage) is always accurate info either directly from the BLM, the TRT, or from first hand personal experience out there. You can either read that or take the guy's word for it that is selling beef jerky and sodas. Take your pick.
-
Well I can't answer the question about the guy at Valero. All I know is that the BLM didn't have very much time to educate every vendor very well about the specifics. The guy probably didn't understand the whole pass mess. As for the next meeting, it isn't until February so that won't help. I am trying to stay in contact with the BLM and gather info about the passes. I will post whatever I find when I do. They have been pretty helpfull so far. :mc_smiley:
-
No Jason. Unless the weekly pass was purchased BEFORE November 21, 2007, it will not be counted as credit towards a season pass. At the last TRT meeting, they discussed how they were wrking on getting the new software for the self pay machines. I am guessing that the season passes will be available at the machine if nobody is out there. You guys have to understand that the fees changing, making rules, coming up with ideas on how they are going to do this whole thing, printing passes, etc...had to happen in a matter of about a week's time. They (the BLM) had to wait for the new fees to be past by a committee, then it was less than a week till Thanksgiving. You will have just be patient as more details slowly surface.
-
The reason for that, Paul, is because when the weekly passes were $20 the season passes weren't available at the time. Therefore, when the new fees went into effect the season passes became available. The $40 passes aren't counted as credit toward a season pass because you could have just bought a season pass. I know I know, you couldn't buy it at Valero, but they were available at Dumont.
-
I don't know why he wouldn't write it for a full 7 days, but the season passes aren't going to be sold by the vendors. Would everyone PLEASE take a moment and read this page... http://www.dumontduneriders.com/passes.html Hopefully it clears up some confusion and answers some questions.

I still can't believe this car. I got another good look at it tonight. It is coming along really good. I just hope I can arrange to get out to D on the shakedown trip for V rex. I have to work that weekend. Dammit. Maybe I can haul a$$ out straight from work when I get out around noon.

I'm trying! If everything still goes to plan, I am still planning on maybe January sometime. I'll let ya know.
