  1. presidents day was great for me and my camp! we were right next to the rock hill on the north side. if you were anywhere near us and we pissed you off, i appologize. and for the person who asked about the explosion on saturday night, that was an idiot from my camp that put a 5 gallon gas can full of gas in our fire. it almost took out my quad and truck at the same time. i was extremely pissed at the time, but then passed out after a few too many jagerbombs and soco shots
  2. ya, they were taping my friend get arrested at comp hill on saturday night for underage drinking. they made her feel like a total peice of crap and i nearly got arrested for telling the camera guy to f- off when he pointed it at me. that stupid @ss bright light was so damn annoying.
  3. ill be there tomorrow morning near the rockpile with a bunch of shinanigans. 30+ on saturday night :beer_bang: and the stripper pole will be in full effect jk...maybe
  4. its all good. im come to realize that no matter what happens anywhere, people will complain. there is nothing in the world one can do with out offending somebody else. its part of american life. so, i try not to partain in that. and like i said, you kinda have to think about things more in depth and realize that dumont is 100+ miles from the nearest major city (tecopa/baker are not major imo) from where all the services must come. that is probably the main reason that things are so expensive to do out there. ie: toilet service. :north_pole:
  5. im not complaining at all. and i DID in fact read the whole post, as i have read many other posts on the whole 'fee's delema.' i agree with everything you had just said also. i simpily put in my .02 (which is what forums are for, right?) on the idea that us duners should be able to see our fee's at work. then i went on to say 'you need to think outside of the box on some issues, such as the toilets' meaning: dont take that stuff for granted. i realize that is a HUGE expense that is often overlooked. i also agree that the road has been in decent enough condition everytime i have gone to dumont this season. so, im not b*tching about anything, merely agreeing with some members idea that with purchasing the pass at dumont, certain things are expected to come from it other than a wave and a 'happy dune trip, be safe' from the rangers. and i suppose when i think into it a little more i realize that alot of those things i take for granted. long story short, im not b*tching, im simpily agreeing. :]
  6. its because typically if your going to buy a dumont pass, you may need other equipment also, and busier people like to get everything in one place. its a form of basically free advertising/customer traffic into local businesses. those businesses sign up to sell them for that reason i believe
  7. i personally think the fee's are a bit expensive. for those of you in 100,000$ sand rails with 40+ foot toy haulers and semi trucks pulling them, maybe it seems cheap. but for people like me who sleep in their truck, the fee's can add up quickly. and i completely understand why people want to see where there money is going. i agree that it is a fair thing to ask. and i understand the whole 'if you cant pay for it then dont come' philosophy. but i suppose you just have to look a little bit out side of the box into things like pit toilets and stuff like that. but even then, i think alot of that money is pissed away and not used towards the bettering of the dunes and dune related facilities. on that subject comes the road leading in. i can not understand how you guys with big a$$ trucks and haulers and all this nice stuff could care less about taking it on a really messed up road when seemingly, for the pay of a blm person at around 10$ an hour, it could be grated weekly. thats approximately 50$ a week, assuming the person takes 5 hours to do it. thats almost payed for by ONE visitor on a holiday weekend. my numbers could be very wrong, but theres no way that is an unreasonable thing for people to ask for...
  8. before you post next time, perhaps you read the entire post. in my very first post to start the thread, i explained why i would temporarily take it off.
  9. right on, good information. thanks alot! i have the title to my bike, but no registration because like you says, Nevadan's dont need it. but im not going to bring the title all the way to dumont to get lost or stolen or have anything happen to it. but thanks again!
  10. ya, thats what i was thinking, and is usually what happens. thanks!
  11. no matter what happens, with any dumont related issue, its gunna piss off somebody, and somebody will complain. people need to be more tolerant of things, although 30$ for a few hours of riding is sort of expensive. but i guess its designed that way for a reason... gotta pay to play..
  12. ya, usually the rangers are pretty cool. which is sort of my plan. i would hope that they understood that im riding with spotters and we all take turns jumping and are being responsible. they should realize that im being safe and probably have other issues to worry about than me riding in one big circle for 3 hours in a row with no flag.
  13. as sh*tty as it sounds, if somebody wants your stuff bad enough, they will get it. the trick is to make your stuff look too hard to steal and theives will move on. make the risk higher than the reward. and its alot of work to detour somebody from a 20,000$ rhino. but a fool proof plan is to take a wheel off of your rhino or quad and put it inside your moho or hauler. as crappy as that is, it is by far the best option. theres not many people who are going to take the time to cut a lock and lift up an entire quad into a truck when they could move to the next camp and push one away. and a more long term solution is getting the rangers to crack down on people caught doing the stuff. if you find somebody in your camp, catch them and turn them in! but thats a challenge in itself. and lastly, what i do is party all night long. if your not asleep, your always watching! when i get home i really pay for it though :beer_bang: hahaha ..or go to dumont with 18 year old kids with nothing better to do than attempt to alcohol poison themselves every night. drunk kids love to create disturbances, which theives dont like too much. hahaha
  14. i make darn sure that i dont hit anybody. that would never end good for me, nor the other party. thats why i have somebody or a few people waving me on or off. i typically just wedge a flag under my seat so it sticks out far and is easy to take off, or fall off if i accidentally kick it.. and thats how i usually do it, is just ride untill i decide im gunna start hucking myself (hence my screen name), then i just pull it off and set it down... but nobody seemed to awnser the question as to how big of a fine that would be had i got caught doing it...?
  15. i am not against trash cans at dumont, but i am against idiots who leave their trash everywhere. when i left on halloween, it took my camp seriously like 2 hours to pick up all of our sh*t and put it in trash bags. it was ridiculous. but none the less, we got it all picked up and even cleaned off the portion of the rock hill that we were parked by.
  16. how serious is riding with no flag; more specifically, with a group of people. i realize saftey first and that a flag is mainly for my own saftey. (i ride a dirtbike) but when i go to do tricks like supermans and nac-nac's, the flag seriously gets in the way. how much trouble would i be in, or how much would it cost me if when i got to a jump, i took my flag off while i was hitting the jump and laid it on the ground or whatever? i would have spotters and everything, just no flag. any idea?
  17. right on! i will most likely see you there!
  18. im wondering where you guys will be camped by in general. thats it...
  19. i dont mean to be a lowballer, but if you really need to sell and will accept anything under 2 g's, let me know. if so, im in..
  20. is there going to be a ddr campsite as usual? if so, where will it be located? i wont camp near you guys with my shannanigans of friends, but i might have to swing by to have a few every trip report sounds like you guys have a great time out there and i have got to experience it first hand..
  21. hopefully i will be out there on saturday! that is the plan...
  22. i vote NO! and my custom golf cart project, complete with a stripper pole, hookah lounge, and beerpong table is underway. look for me mlk weekend seriously though, in regaurds to the whole 'make a big sign of where the strippers will be', i will be camped out near the rock pile, on the opposite side of vendor row with all my stripper friends half naked in full effect, far away from comp. feel free to stop by and eather drop 1$'s or tell me what a douche i am. eather way, im sure i will have plenty of visitors!
  23. i agree. but i still stand with my oppinion and im bringing my own pole next trip! i might even mount it on my back fender of my dirtbike. then i can participate in the nude dune day and do heel clickers with a stripper on the back of my bike.
  24. how they act at their own camp shouldnt bother you. and if you want to hang up a big a$$ sign saying where to watch all the nasty fat chicks dance on a pole than thats fine. im sure you dont want to do all that work. instead why dont you realize that everybody payed the fee to get in, regaurdless of their motives. just keep in mind that dumont is about FUN. if you go to ride then thats your interpretation of fun. i go to ride durring the day, try not to crash, and at night have wayyy too much to drink and party. thats my version of fun. maybe some other peoples 'fun' is to tape off a gigantic portion of the finger and create a mini-comp hill for their kids. everybody has different interpretations of fun. and alot of duners version of fun is getting hammered and standing around a brass pole with a bunch of wanna be strippers and other drunk dudes making an a$$ out of themselves. why do you have to rid them of their fun? thats the same thing as if i told you 'ok, you cant go to comp hill because the hill is too tall and dangerous and people get hurt too much.' now that would certainly be cutting into your 'fun time' while at the dunes wouldnt it? just respect other peoples wishes and understand that you do not own the dunes. everybody who pays to go there is entitled to his/her own personal experience. and you should not try to rid them of that as they are not directly doing anything to disturb you. you wasting the time to watch them and think about how horrible they are is quite frankly a waste of your own time. so close your mouth, put your helmet back on, and go have your own fun anywhere else in the entire rest of the dunes.
  25. ive been out a few times and havent had to pay. if the rangers arent at the entrance pay station, then you have no real way to get a pass, unless you get one ahead of time. you just have to avoid comming when everybody and their mom comes and goes. ie: friday night and sunday morning. just bring the 30$ just incase, but you might just get lucky? thats how i do it.
