  1. i was at the robbie jump in person too. when i first looked at the ramp it didnt look too over the top. but when he actually jumped it :hungry: and you could compare the size of him on the bike to the actual height he was jumping, holy chit. it was HUGE. :ah: its also kind of funny to hear the crowd when he went down. silence for a second........... then screaming out of control. i cant believe he made it
  2. not the best weekend for me. we rolled in thurs afternoon and went on some pretty good night rides. the best night rides for me by far. but friday morning came and my buddy figured it would be a good idea to go hit some jump he found last trip. it was right around the corner from comp, sort of on the way to the south pole. it was a really good jump and i was hitting it around 4th untill a crowd started to gather and i said what the hell. so i clicked up to fifth on my bike and ended up eating it really hard. my shoulder dislocated pretty bad but i thought i popped it back in. well by sat morning i realized something was wrong because i was still in severe pain. so i drove to the pahrump hospital where i got xrayed and was told it was still not in the socket. eventually they knocked me out and popped it back in after at least a day and a half of it being dislocated. then the doc told me i needed surgery and sent me on my way. my whole weekend was pretty much gone from this but i still toughed it out and hung out at camp and comp for the rest of the weekend . hopefully next trip goes smoother.
  3. you might want to post the license plate number if you had one on there. its a long shot, but chances are if the trailer is seen, it will be seen driving down the road, not while parked in a back yard. so that will be a way to know for sure if its the same trailer. just my .02
  4. obama is a preacher, not a president.
  5. ps: when i used to camp by the rock hill, i never had a problem with people hauling azz by my camp, except when leaving vendor row every now and then.
  6. after reading this thread i wonder where i can get an indestructible 360 degree rollcage for my quad? complete with 16 point harnesses and a parachute out of a fighter jet incase i have to swerve to avoid a completely unsafe sandrail on comp and fly over the backside doing 300mph. compairing sand cars vs. nascars...? 70-80mph vs 190+mph. c'mon now. its very possible that the mounting locations of harnesses are not EXACTLY what they should be, but they are sufficient enough. maybe not for you, but im sure that everybody that owns a car is satisfied with their restraints and thats what matters. nobody is going to go out and refab their entire frame for the ideal mounting location. back on topic: some camps, specially near the fingers are hard to tell apart. like, where one starts and stops. i occasionally rode through a camp or two on accident, thinking that i was riding between 2 camps. if it was yours, i apologize and tried to slow down to an idle when i realized where i was. other than that, people when leaving camp are usually so amped to get out on their bike/rail that they mob around the camp area like its the dunes. its peoples adrenaline imo and i dont think it will ever change. add alcohol and bingo, theres your problem. the only thing i can recommend is the farther away from the dunes you park, the less people there are and therefore less people driving fast near your camp, or through it.
  7. i agree with all non obama supporters on here. you may have seen this before, but watch the whole thing and see the type of intelligence some obama suporters have. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5p3OB6roAg
  8. my group is cutting it close! i gotta rebuild a top end then we are OUT. so about 6-7 hours till we are in the sand. everybody be safe!!
  9. i bought my deisel when fuel was at nearly $5/gallon. saved me a TON of money
  10. ps: i wonder how good an abrahms tank would do in the sand... if you see a tank going up comp, thats me. stop and say hi
  11. the landmine idea is genius! i think im gunna bring sand bags, hand grenades, and barbed wire to fortify my camp area. cones dont seem to give off a good enough bada$$ look. so only come trick or treating at my camp if you want 9mm bullets in your sack!! seriously tho, i think bob said it, insurance is the best protection. stray bullets are the best way to prison. and i did get some useful tips out of this thread for keeping my toys safe. thanks!

  13. is dumont considered public land? because we have to pay to get in...?
  14. naw, she was 17. at least thats what she told me and my understanding. i didnt really have reason to doubt it. if thats not the case then uhhhhh-o and i can see why the rangers may have been a little more upset. no, thats my point. nobody got a contributing ticket and the ranger took everybody's ID that was with us and ran our names when he came to our camp. but the camera's wernt there. ehh, im not so sure. and our 'group' was not small. alot of the people didnt know eachother and we wernt together ever, except at camp. so idk how they could link us together, although that is an understandable assumption. and it is possible that they underreacted before, but as soon as the camera came on they were a-holes.
  15. like i said, it doesnt bug me as long as the top of the dune is left open for people to go across. but some people have it taped off all the way to the other side of the hill! thats ridiculous
  16. your not understanding my point. i agree that she was in the wrong. i agree she deserved some sort of punishment. i disagree with why the rangers treated her like sh*t because of the camera. other people had been caught for this same offense and got a ticket and nothing more. she got taken away in handcuffs like she just shot somebody because the camera's were there. thats my issue. the camera's have no business being there, and the rangers shouldnt be influenced as easily by them.
  17. i think the finger's are part of the dunes and not part of the camp area. i could be wrong, but hey. and i like riding on them. they offer some unique jumping area's like step up's and long transfer lines. typically the people in the camp dont mind if i ask to ride on them for a little bit, but beyond that, the finger dunes are a good place to start a ride at imo. i dont have a problem with the bottom's on the fingers being tapes off, but at least leave room for 2 quads to safely pass on the top of the dune. i hate having to slide down, then climb back up when the cones could easily be moved 5ft back and everybody would be happy
  18. yes. that was us. like 4 cop cars, the quads, the camera, the whole posse of them. all that for some stupid sh*t. and to clairify the situation, the ranger's were total douche bags to her because the camera was there. then when they asked her where she could be released, she brought them to our camp where we were told if we didnt fix everything that was wrong we would get $15,000 in tickets. then he left. no douchebagness at our camp site or to other people that got tickets. just very simple and to the point. but at comp when the camera was there it was a whole different story. and to richard cheese: i wasnt with the wrong group of people. and im not gunna go to glamis. im going to continue to go to dumont and do as i feel and drink where ever and when ever i want. im not saying she did nothing wrong. she should not have been drinking in open sight. my point is that the rangers made a huge deal out of it because the camera crew was there and thats wrong. all of a sudden record gets pushed, a bright a$$ light turns on, and now it takes 5 police vehicles, 7 cops, a camera crew, a set of handcufs, and a trip to the ranger station to say what they did with a 75$ ticket maybe 4 hours before this. THATS my issue is how influenced the rangers are by that dumb a$$ camera and how they went out of their way to be a-holes.
  19. ya i suppose thats a good point. they just treated her very badly. and the reason i say its because of the camera is because between all the people i was camped with, like 5 people got underage drinking tickets, but she was the only one when the camera happened to be around, and got handcuffed, then arrested and taken away in the back of the cop car to the ranger station. not only that but she was being screamed at, cursed at, and just made to look like an example in front of everybody at comp. but everybody else got a 75$ underage drinking ticket and a 'good day' from the rangers. thats why i was upset with the mentality that the camera gave the officers.
  20. oh? well i know that the gas can made a big bang too on saturday night. its hard to keep track of time when at the dunes... so what made the really big explosion?
  21. my issue was they were being overly abusive to her because that dumb @ss camera was there. cops are so fake. they do it all for show. and theres alot better things to do than bust a 17 year old girl for having a beer at dumont on presidents day weekend.
  22. lmao. thats my friend getting pulled over on my quad! he got a ticket for no helmet hahahahahahahahhahahahaha what an idiot!
  23. the road was perfect! when i rolled in friday morning the grater and water truck were already at work. the only real delay was on friday night...
